The Ye Special Tasks Force (YSTF) has told people traveling near the San Pya Village on the Ye-Mawlamyine highway in Mon State that they will take over the area soon.

The YSTF spokesman said this on 13 February, when some 20 civilian cars were greeted by them, and the people made a three-finger salute to express their support for the revolution and to mark the birthday of Myanmar independence hero General Aung San.

A video released by the YSTF showed a column of armed resistance fighters and a leader of revolutionary troops explaining that the column is a coalition force.

"It's a test of whether the people can accept us or not. Most of the people raised their three fingers and cheered. Some cried because they were very satisfied with our actions. We did not have a chance to speak for a long time,” said the YSTF spokesman.

It has been officially reported to the people that the armed resistance forces in Ye Township have joined to form a brigade to launch a military offensive.

The formation of the brigade was announced on the occasion of General Aung San’s 107th birthday on 13 February.
