The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Ayadaw Township in Sagaing Region, responsible personnel from local public organizations provided support to a new camp for displaced people in a village.

· On 9 December, there was a video conference meeting between the Committee on Women, Youth and Children’s Affairs under the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Myanmar Women’s Parliamentary Network.

· On Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Township People’s Administrations from Tanintharyi Region, Ayeyarwady Region and Bago Region.

Revolutionary Activities

· On Sunday, Black Leopard Battalion announced that they had gained control of Myawaddy-Kawkarait Asia Road to Myawaddy, a trade town in Kayin State on the Thai-Myanmar border.

· In Shwebo Town in Sagaing Region, there were attacks on the junta armed forces stationed at the vehicle registration office and the Myanma Economics Bank. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and 5 others were injured.

· In Kani Township, a CDM headmistress, who had been teaching children while running away from local battles, passed away.

· In Monywa Township, the junta army raided Kyar Paing Village again. Reportedly, a villager lost their life.

· On Monday, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship.

· In the Latbadaung Area, local people protested against the military dictatorship, raising banners saying ‘Our children have no home or school, just bomb shelters and rescue camps’.

· Colonel Kyaw Latt Khine, the Deputy Commander of the junta army Ka-La-Ya (84), expressed thanks for welcoming the junta soldiers who had given up arms in the Mone Town Battle of Bago Region.

· In Hlaing Tharyar Township of Yangon Region, Pyusawti members and junta members in plain clothes tend to gather at the office of the Union Solidarity and Development Party near Hti Hlaing Shin Housing. So, Dark Shadow conducted an attack via remote mine on the building on Monday afternoon.

· In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, local PDFs attacked the junta army on the way to take away rations from local villages.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· In Kutkhine Township of Northern Shan State, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army took control of another junta army camp. Reportedly, they caught 7 prisoners of war and confiscated weapons.

· In Namsam and Lashio Township of Ta’ang Area, the TNLA gained control of another 4 junta camps.

· The Three Brotherhood Alliance called on the public to fight the military junta in any possible ways as the second phase of Operation 1027.

· In Operation 1027, there has been heavy fighting in Northern Rakhine as well. On Sunday, the junta army fired heavy weapons to Sittway, Minbya and Ponnagyun. Reportedly, a child lost their life and 9 people got injured.

· In Paletwa District of Chin State, 8 local policemen from the junta’s Shin Let Wa Police Station defected to the local CDF.

The Military Council

· The locals of Paletwa claimed that the junta’s spokesman Major General Zaw Min Tun kept saying some places in Chin State were in Rakhine State on purpose.

· For the peace and security of Myanmar and Yunnan Province of China, the junta Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the Deputy Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party of Yunnan Province.

· The junta leader Senior General Min Aung Hlaing went to Lashio of Northern Shan State and encouraged the members of the junta armed forces, who had been injured in local battles and were receiving medical treatment at the military hospital.

· The second junta leader Soe Win called for respect for human rights. He claimed that no matter how hard people try for basic human rights, lack of stability and armed conflicts would weaken human rights.

Summary on 12 December

· The military junta has killed people for no apparent reason, conducted bomb attacks on civilians and set fire to villages. At such times, the second junta leader kept silent. However, at the time of powerful revolution, he stated that human rights would be weakened in the areas with armed conflicts. In other words, he just admitted that they have been losing.

· After the coup, the military junta has stayed away from neighboring China and they have become closer to Russia. As they were losing towns and camps in the Northern Alliance’s Operation 1027, they held discussions with the Chinese province-level party officials.
