The National Unity Government (NUG)

· At 10:00 am Monday, there was a meeting between the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration- NUG and Township People’s Administration Teams from Bago Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Tanintharyi Region and Yangon Region.

· In Sagaing Region, Yinmabin Township People’s Administration conducted a meeting on Monday. Reportedly, they discussed action plans.

· At 3:00 pm Monday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Township People’s Administration from Sagaing Region.

· On Monday, the Interim Executive Council of Karenni State (IEC) released the plan for junta soldiers defecting in Karenni State where there is heavy fighting.

· U Kyaw Zaw, the spokesperson of the NUG Presidential Office, called on junta soldiers to leave the junta army. He added that defection is not giving up, it is just standing for the truth and thus, those who defect are warmly welcome.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Myingyan District of Mandalay Region, a local PDF shot dead a junta police officer on the Natoegyi-Myotha Road Section at 2:30 pm Monday.

· The European Union slapped sanctions on four individuals including the junta’s former Foreign Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin and Lieutenant General Nyo Saw, and two companies supplying arms to the military junta.

· In Sagaing Region, a fully-armed policeman named Ko Phyu Phwe from Salingyi Myoma Police Station joined the CDM.

· In Kani Township, there was heavy fighting between the junta army and local PDFs in Alegyun Village. According to KLG PDF, no less than 5 junta soldiers died.

· In a report by the World Bank on Tuesday, it was mentioned that Myanmar’s economy could not recover for various reasons and that economic growth would be just 1% until March 2024.

· In Tigyaint where there has been fighting for a month, there were aerial attacks on the town and the neighborhood for three consecutive days. Reportedly, 3 members of the revolutionary forces lost their lives.

· In Magwe Region, a local PDF arrested two junta policemen on their way out from Thargyi Taung Oil Camp to look for rations on the border of Pauk and Pakkoku Township.

· On the Pale-Gantgaw Road Section, about 400 travelers and truck drivers have been trapped for more than a week. Reportedly, they have been faced with hardship and a lack of daily basic needs.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· According to Arakan Army (AA), the junta army has been conducting simultaneous attacks by land, water and air on 6 cities in Rakhine State.

· The Three Brotherhood Northern Alliance has been carrying out an offensive at Muse 105 Mile Camp in Shan State. On Monday night, they announced that they continued to fight for the end of the military dictatorship, the main goal of Operation 1027.

· In Paletwa Township of Chin State, the AA took control of the junta’s Buu Byuhar Camp.

· In Namkham, Mantone and Namsam, there have been daily battles as the remaining junta soldiers are still fighting back.

· In Namkham Township of Northern Shan State, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army attacked the junta’s Sakhanthit Camp on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, there has been heavy fighting there.

· On Monday morning, the TNLA took control of the junta police station in Namsam Township. They also confiscated 14 weapons.

· In Phapun District under the Karen National Union, the junta army conducted air strikes. Reportedly, public’s houses were damaged and local people had to run away.

· The Chair of the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force called on the junta soldiers to give up arms as soon as possible for the least bloodshed.

The Military Council

· On Monday night, the junta spokesman Major General Zaw Min Tun claimed that they had discussed with the Three Brotherhood Northern Alliance conducting Operation 1027. He added that the meeting was set up with the aid of the Chinese Government, it was intended to fgind a political resolution to the fighting in Shan North.

· The military junta announced that Myanmar people in Singapore would be able to extend their passports at the embassy and do other consul matters only when they paid income tax.

· U Aung Naing Oo, the junta Union Minister, stated that the junta is on the verge of signing contracts related to Kyauk Phyu Deep Sea Port Project.

· Mr. Ramanathan Balakrishman, the Acting Coordinator of the United Nations to Myanmar, stated that they would contribute to the collection of the household lists in Myanmar.

· General Mya Tun Oo, a member of the military junta, said that it was necessary to supervise the return of export income in accordance with procedures when exporting.

Summary on 13 December

· With a great loss in warfare, the military junta sought the assistance of the Chinese Government and discussed ending the offensive. According to the media, the MNDAA seemed to get hold of Lauk Kaing without a gunshot. Reportedly, there was a ceasefire till the end of the month so that the junta soldiers could leave the town. Despite such a ceasefire in Lauk Kaing, there have been battles in other areas. In other words, it can be said that Operation 1027 has not lost its momentum.

· Due to the need for the USD, the military junta has tried various ways for the official entry of export income and the remittance and taxes from Myanmar people abroad.
