The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Salingyi Township of Sagaing Region, the Local Public Administration honoured and supported the female members of a local security force.

· According to the Military Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence- NUG on Saturday, the PDFs had to rescue junta soldiers who had given up arms in the Mone Battle of Bago Region, and their families, from the junta’s aerial attack.

· In Saw Township of Magwe Region, a painting contest in commemoration of the International Human Rights Day was held at a school under the Ministry of Education- NUG.

· The PDF Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence- NUG announced on Sunday that they had attacked and gained control of the junta’s Aung Zay Ya Hill Camp in Hommalin in Northern Tamu District.

· In Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region, responsible personnel from the local public administration, defence forces, communication teams and a humanitarian committee supported a new IDP camp in a local village on 7 December.

· In cooperation with the Ministry of Women, Youth and Children’s Affairs- NUG, youths from the Kayin charity groups conducted a 16-day movement for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women at the schools for the displaced in Kayin State on 8 December.

Revolutionary Activities

· No. (3) Unit of the All Burma Students' Democratic Front celebrated the 75th Human Rights Day. They also carried out a poster campaign themed ‘Let’s march towards justice in accordance with human dignity’. In addition, the members discussed democracy and human rights.

· Activists stated that Myanmar people have had to sacrifice their lives for basic human rights such as the right to life and the freedom of expression.

· In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, the Black Falcon Guerrilla Forces arrested two female soldiers and a retired sergeant from the junta’s Kyauk Sit Gone Army.

· In Yinmabin Township, a combined force of local PDFs attacked the junta army stationed in Bantbway Village on the roadside of the Monywa-Yagyi road at about 3:00 pm on 8 December.

· PDF South Monywa announced that the Monywa-Mandalay Road has been temporarily blockaded.

· In Yesagyo of Magwe Region, a local PDF member lost his life when he was shot near the Chindwin River Bank.

· José Ramos-Horta, the President of East Timor, stated that the junta armed forces have had the opportunity to make history by not killing Myanmar people. He added that Myanmar is not being invaded by the other country.

· In Beelin PDF Zone (2), a human rights campaign was conducted. Moreover, there was an educational talk to the members on human rights.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· The Three Brotherhood of Northern Alliance announced that all people are responsible for uprooting the military dictatorship in Myanmar and everyone who would like the downfall of the military dictatorship must be contribute in their own way.

· On Saturday night, the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army announced that it had released 49 militia members from the junta members arrested in local battles in the Kokang Area of Northern Shan State.

· On Sunday, the Karen National Union Thatone District warned that the military and civil staff under the military junta are to join the public as political dialogue had stopped in Myanmar due to the military coup.

· On Saturday night, Karenni revolutionary forces took control of Karenni State Police Office.

The Military Council

· Colonel Kyaw Latt Khine, the Deputy Commander of the junta army Ka-La-Ya (84), said he had decided to give up arms so that his comrades did not suffer great losses.

· On Sunday morning, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on Thiri Mingala Market in Loikaw. Reportedly, the whole market was burnt to ashes.

· U Myint Naung, the junta’s Labour Minister, met with Myanmar MoU workers during a trip to Thailand. He also went to SAHA Inter-Holding sock factory in Mae Sot and told Myanmar workers to send 25% of their salaries to their families.

· The secretary of the junta’s fuel oil import committee said that buyers queue at filling stations in big cities such as Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyi Taw because they just want good service from those shops.

· The junta propaganda leader Zaw Min Tun said that their soldiers had not defected to the other side and that they had been arrested for the safety of their families.

· The junta’s Chief Minister of Bago Region said that it was necessary to properly tax and identify those evading taxes.

Summary on 11 December

· In terms of fuel oil, the junta spokesman Major General Zaw Min Tun and his followers have been telling lies to the public in various ways.

· In recent days, the military junta has been collecting taxes from Myanmar workers abroad and local people suffering hardship.
