The house of a party member of the military-aligned Union Solidarity and Development (USDP) was set on fire in Yange Village in Thayetchaung Township in Thanintaryi District’s Dawei Region at around 2 p.m. on 13 June, according to locals.

The locals said that the house belonged to U pho Htaw, a USDP party member who was also known as a junta informant.

Eyewitnesses said the attack was carried out by the local People’s Defence Force (PDF).

After the incident junta troops arrived and opened fire, according to locals.
