A total of 1,129 representatives from the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) will contest in Myanmar's general election scheduled to be held on Nov. 8, Dr. Nandar Hla Myint, spokesperson of the party told Xinhua on Wednesday.

Of them, 320 candidates will compete for the House of Representatives (Lower House), 165 for the House of Nationalities (Upper House), others for region or state parliaments and for seats in region or state parliaments reserved for ethnic minorities, the party's announcement said.

Meanwhile, over 1,100 representatives from the ruling NLD party will take part in the general election, Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, vice chairman of the party told Xinhua recently.
