UN Peacekeeping Operation Course opens in Nay Pyi Taw

An opening ceremony for a UN Peacekeeping Operation Course jointly organized by the Myanmar Tatmadaw and India’s military for the Myanmar Tatmadaw to participate in UN peacekeeping operations was held at the Park Royal Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, state media reported.

The training course is the sixth of its kind to be conducted. From 2016 to 2018 a total of 96 officers and 54 other ranks have attended the courses.

This course covers ethics of UN Peacekeepers, protecting civilians, protecting children, military-civilian cooperation, conducting patrols, convoy security, construction of company base camp, Blue Helmet exercise, and history of UN peacekeeping works and will be held until 15 February.
