UK adds more sanctions on Myanmar

Fresh sanctions have been placed on Myanmar’s military government by the UK, DPA reported.

Britain has accused the Southeast Asian country’s armed forces of continued suppression of the civilian population and serious human rights violations.

The British sanctions, being applied alongside sanctions by the United States (US) and Canada, including imposing travel bans and asset freezes on those involved in serious human rights violations or abuses and those responsible for “undermining fundamental rights and liberties”.
