Two junta supply ships were captured on in Chindwin River in Kani Township, Sagaing Region by defence forces, at approximately 10:00 p.m. on 6 November.

The ships, which became stranded in Kani Township, were part of a group of seven junta ships travelling along the Chindwin River. Defence forces started attacking them on 5 November and were able to seize the ships on the night of 6 November. At least three junta troops were injured

An official from Kyauk Lone Gyi People’s Defence Force (PDF) said: “Two of the seven supply ships were effectively targeted and taken control of by our defence forces. Since there was nothing of value on the two ships, we only seized these two ships.”

The remaining five junta supply ships left Kani Township on the morning of 7 November and continued on their journey downstream.

The defence forces that attacked the ships were Kyauk Lone Gyi PDF, Yinmarbin District Battalion (21), Yinmarbin District Battalion (22), and Yinmarbin District Battalion (23).

Defence forces took control of Kawlin Town on 6 November following three days of fighting.
