Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin tweeted via X that he had received a report on the situation in Myanmar and that the Thai government would seek to help Thai nationals in trouble.
Thais and other nationalities are trapped in Laukkaing in northern Shan State, where violence is continuing.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Yangon has worked with Myanmar authorities to assist 162 Thais by arranging for them to remain in safe places and assisting all Thais in returning to Thailand as soon as possible, Thai media report.

The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) along with the Arakan Army (AA) and the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) launched “Operation 1027” – named for the Oct. 27 date of the offensive – and simultaneously struck junta positions in the strategic Shan cities of Kunlong, Hseni, Chin Shwe Haw, Laukkaing, Namhkan, Kutkai, and Lashio, the state’s largest municipality.

On 2 November, an entire military battalion reportedly surrendered to MNDAA amid an offensive by the alliance of three ethnic armies in northern Shan State.
