The Thai Immigration Bureau on Thursday issued a warning to foreign migrant workers that if they are found sneaking into Thai soil and breaching the COVID-19 health measures, they would be barred from entering Thailand permanently, Xinhua reported.

The immigration bureau said that security authorities in the Thai north are on alert along the border with Myanmar after reports that the latter have reported a surge of new COVID-19 cases.

The border patrol officers will impose strict measures in screening vehicles and people coming through the border checkpoint at Mae Sot district, said the bureau.
