The Tatmadaw (Defence Services) Commander-in-Chief told the Japanese Foreign Minister that the Tatmadaw would cooperate in holding free and fair elections.

The one-hour long meeting discussed many issues including COVID-19, military operations and holding free and fair 2020 general elections.

The Japanese FM said that Japan would render their help to both public and private sectors in establishing Myanmar as a democratic country and also continue giving assistance in ongoing peace process.
