Soldiers of the Tatmadaw attacked nearby residents after a loud explosion around 9:30 pm on 28 June night in South Dagon Township, Yangon Region.

Security forces also beat and cursed civilians near the local administrative office, while threatening them with guns.

“I saw the soldiers beating people,” said a witness.

Security forces also took some people near the explosion by cars, said the locals as they feared their residential quarter would be in a state of panic again.

“We are worried security forces would threaten to us again,” said a local.
