A suspected informant in Peinegone ward of Insein Township, Yangon, was shot dead on 30 June.

U Maung Maung, the 50-year-old man, was killed on the way back home around 8 am after sending his grandchild to school.

“He was shot three times and died at the scene,” said a local witness.

He was accused of reporting to the military about people who took part in anti- junta protests.
