State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi says people should not be negligent despite the arrival of Covid- 19 vaccines in Myanmar.

She made the remarks during a visit to the maternity ward of the Ministry of Health and Sports in Nay Pyi Taw where vaccinations were started on healthcare workers on the morning of January 27.

The State Counsellor said that because of the new Covid-19 vaccine, there are concerns, but it is natural that there would be side effects such as festering, pain and sickness, and that medical care would be provided after the injection.

"In the meantime, we need to be careful. We are worried that some will be negligent. The medicine has arrived but all of it will not arrive at the same time. We have to wait. If you produce it from your own country, you can use as much as you like. Now we have to import from other countries. Everyone is buying it. You will not get what you want. The government will pay it no matter how much is it? I want people to be careful at this time. Now the rate of infection has dropped. I want it to be maintained.”

Today, Union Minister for Health Dr. Myint Htwe, including Deputy Minister Dr. Mya Lay Sein and healthcare workers, received vaccine in Nay Pyi Taw.
