Spring Revolution Daily News for 9 September 2023 

The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • On the two-year anniversary of the People’s Defensive War on Friday, Union Minister of Defence- NUG saluted the young generation who have been committed to freedom from military slavery throughout history. 
  • On Friday, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent a statement to the 75th anniversary of Karenni National Martyrs’ Day. 
  • The NUG stated that they would take serious action against any individual or agency that cut the salaries of Myanmar workers abroad or put pressure by any means for the transfer. 
  • At 10:00 am Thursday, the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration conducted a meeting (36/2023). 
  • At about 6:00 pm Friday, the Ministry of Defence-NUG conducted a discussion themed - ‘From the crack of the military junta to their downfall’ in commemoration of the two-year anniversary of the People’s Defensive War. 
  • At 3:00 pm Friday, there was a meeting (29/2023) between Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and District People’s Administration. 
  • Acting President of the NUG claimed that the revolution which got started with Tumi guns reached up to the offensive, and well-organized forces with modern weapons that could threaten even Naypyidaw. 
  • U Yi Mon, Union Minister of Defence-NUG, claimed that the revolution had reached a turning point on the two-year anniversary of the People’s Defensive War. 
  • On the two-year anniversary of the People’s Defensive War on Thursday, Gantgaw District PDF Regiment (13) based in Yaw Area met with the public. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In Monywa Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army raided the weapon-production camp of District PDF Regiment (11). Reportedly, 4 PDF members lost their lives. 
  • The revolution forces from Shwebo and Wetlet have been trying to prohibit a junta training from transporting weapons via Mandalay-Myitgyina Railroad. Reportedly, they have had heavy fighting against the junta army. 
  • According to Justice for Myanmar, some member states would not attend the Conference of the ASEAN Air Force Commanders hosted by Myanmar’s military junta. 
  • In Muse Township of Northern Shan State, the number of the displaced people has been on the rise due to local battles near Selant Village. Reportedly, it has reached up to nearly 3,000. 
  • Comrade Thomas, a unit leader of Students’ Army, lost his life. 
  • In Taninthayi Region, there was an attack on the junta’s Phayarme Gate outside of Dawei. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died. 
  • In Seikphyu Township of Magwe Region, there was a mine attack on a junta convoy of 6 military trucks near Kyungchaung Village. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died and 13 others were injured. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) 

  • In Duplaya District under Karen National Union Brigade (6), a soldier from the junta army Ka-La-Ya (32) was rewarded 50 lakh MMK for defecting to the KNU. 
  • In Demoso Township of Karenni State, Karenni Revolution Union managed to take control of a junta army camp in Konethar Village. Reportedly, there were casualties among junta soldiers and weapons were confiscated. 
  • In Kyauk Phyu Township of Rakhine State, the junta army arrested a member of Arakan Army. In response, the AA caught some junta soldiers. 
  • The Military Council 
  • The junta Department of Meteorology and Hydrology warned local people in Zalun and Ngatheinchaung to take caution against potential floods caused by heavy rain and high water levels of Ayeyarwaddy River and Ngawun River. 
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the forest coverage had declined up to 42% due to timber production for the nation’s budget throughout history. 
  • According to the junta propaganda team, edible oil dealers are not to conduct the sales with more than 10% of profit as the military junta has been carrying out activities via the working committee to stabilize the prices. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, Myanmar border trade earned nearly 4 billion USD in the first five months of the current fiscal year.

  • The number of displaced people has increased in the upcountry like Sagaing and Magwe. Reportedly, the same has happened Shan State. They are urgently in need of food. 
  • The military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing, which has been selling the country’s resources for their interest, blamed the previous military dictators for over extraction of natural resources.
