The Military Council

  • According to the junta Basic Education Department, university entrance application forms and guidance booklets would be issued at basic education schools until the end of November.
  • The junta newspaper said that the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing had sent a statement in commemoration of Kayin State Day.
  • In his statement on the special occasion of Kayin State Day, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing called for the cooperation of ethnic people in the fight against terrorism of those who do not want peace in the country.
  • At the meeting of the junta Election Commission with political parties which had lost in the previous election, the junta chair of the commission said that it was necessary to take into consideration a guarantee for all 135 ethnic groups as well participation in legal and administrative affairs. Depending on the ability to campaign, the area would gain development and security.
  • The junta media falsely claimed that it was local PDF had killed the people in Karbaung village of Tantsi Township in Sagaing Region.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The public has been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks on 13 military targets of the enemy, 11 administration targets and 4 business targets on Saturday.
  • Ministry of Defence- NUG announced that 4 soldiers and 4 policemen made contact on Sunday to join the public as they no longer wanted to serve the military junta.

Revolution Activities

  • In Kawlin Township of Sagaing Region, there were battles between local PDFs and the junta armed forces on Sunday. Reportedly, the military junta used two military helicopters for an attack at about 4:30 pm.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a rally of Yegyibin village led a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, Kyayzargya village rally led a march against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • At about 10:05 am Sunday, a convoy of 1 military truck and 5 motorbikes, which had left the police station in Myaung Township, was attacked with mines by a combined force of 6 local PDFs.
  • In Salingyi Township, a rally of Latbadaung Taung General Strike marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • On Saturday, the junta army raided Hmwele village on the side of Kalay-Gantgaw road and set fire to houses.
  • On Sunday, Kalay people expressed their desire against the military dictatorship in memory of 11 martyrs from Tahan fort, who had lost their lives 7 months ago due to the junta army.
  • In Monywa Township, local people conducted a dawn strike against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Mingaladone Township of Yangon Region, some unknown people shot at the security gate of the junta air force at about 2:00 pm Sunday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died.
  • At about 12:30 pm Sunday, some armed people attacked Mingaladone Township Administration Office. According to local sources, a junta soldier and a woman died, and another junta soldier was injured.
  • In Konetalabaung village of Mingaladone Township, the junta army officer in chief of Regiment (9) had challenged after the murder of the administrator that if not satisfied, people were to come and shoot at the army.
  • In Mayangone Township, an armed group attacked Ward (1) administration office under Thamai overhead bridge at about 1:20 pm Sunday. According to local residents, 3 staff members died.
  • In South Dagon Myothit Township, Nagale, who announced himself as a pro-military -informer and a bad guy released from prison, was shot by some armed people on Sunday afternoon. Reportedly, the junta army arrived there and there were exchanges of fire.
  • In Yangon, a combined rally of students’ unions from Insein, Hlaingthaya, Shwepyitha, B.E.H.S (2) and Chanthazan townships marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In South Dagon Township, the Ba-Ka-Tha students’ union carried out an anti-junta movement on Sunday morning, calling on the people not to let their blood cool down for the revolution.
  • On Sunday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Pha-Kant Township of Kachin State, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Hopin of Moenyin Township, Pyusawti members in a car shot into Htoo Htike San tea shop at about 8:20 am Sunday. According to local residents, 6 people, including a monk, died and many others were injured.
  • In Winyaw area of Kayin State, a combined rally of local people and Iron Roses women marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday. They also showed their strong condemnation against the junta Kayin State Day celebration.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, basic education students marched against the military dictatorship and their slavery education on Sunday morning.
  • In a village of Longlone Township, youth protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Pekone on Shan-Kayah border, the junta army in plainclothes raided Jeyawbalo Ward and thus, local residents had to run away.
  • At about 12:00 pm Saturday, the mortar shot by the junta army (422) based in Mobye fell on the kitchen of a catholic nunnery in Pekone.
  • In Myaing Township of Magwe Region, Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public, marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Pyi of Bago Region, junta soldiers collected a fine of 6000 MMK from each person without a mask at Koethaung traffic lights on Sunday morning. Reportedly, those who could not afford to pay it had to do frog jumps.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to a CNF, 11 junta soldiers and a police officer died and many others were injured in battles in Hakha and Tantalan of Chin State on Saturday morning.

Summary on 8th November

  • In Mingaladone Township, an army area in Yangon Region, there were attacks at 3 locations at different times. There was also gunfire in Mayangone and South Dagon townships. Judging from their attacks with guns instead of bombs, their guerrilla revolution might be reaching the next level.
  • The military junta called on ethnic people not to support the NUG and PDFs. They also asked for their cooperation in the fight against revolutionists. In addition, they asked political parties, which had lost in the previous election, for security in the areas through campaign ability. Those are the signs that the military junta could not rule the country.
  • In Sagaing, Chin and Kayah, local PDFs conducted offence attacks, causing a great loss for the junta armed forces. In such a situation, junta soldiers targeted civilians in their attacks and ill-treated them.
