The Military Council

  • The military junta announced that the basic reference price of rice was set at 540,000 MMK for every 100 baskets. If the market price is above it, rice could be sold with the market price. If the market price is below it, rice must be sold with the basic reference price.
  • According to the junta media, the junta chief minister of Mandalay Region and the junta chief military officer of the Midland awarded a certificate and cash to those who helped in the making of arrests to capture weapons in the region.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the military junta joined the discussion of Asia-Pacific Tourism Association with member states for a resumption of tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • In Kachin State, the junta state government conducted a meeting for normal trade flow between China and Myanmar via Lwegyel Kanpitee border trade camps.
  • The military junta announced that they had arrested those who killed a junta informer in Kangyidaunk Township in Ayeyarwaddy Region and who set fire to Badaukbin village administration office.
  • The junta police force announced that the staff and the public could report to them in a timely manner if they were threatened and put under pressure outside the law.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The public have been taking part in People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks against 15 military targets of the enemy, 11 administration targets and 4 business targets on Tuesday.
  • The NUG announced that there were 5 soldiers and 18 policemen who made contact to join the public on Tuesday.
  • At 76th UN General Assembly, U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, called for international action against the junta army which have been committing terrible crimes, including sexual violence against Myanmar women.

Revolution Activities

  • In the United States, “Burma Unified through Rigorous Military Accountability Act of 2021” was submitted to the lower house of representatives to take action against the junta army.
  • On Tuesday, French Upper House approved of the proposal for recognizing the NUG without any objection.
  • In response to a question of Malaysian Parliament, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that they were getting ready to consider discussing with the NUG for Myanmar’s affairs if the military junta failed to cooperate for the implementation of ASEAN 5-point consensus.
  • On Wednesday, ASEAN special envoy said that ASEAN ministers were discussing not to invite the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing to the ASEAN Summit.
  • People´s Defence Force Kani, Pale - PDF Headquarters and People’s Revolution Army would join hands to uproot the military junta.
  • According to Jungle Serpents, they killed Kyaw Thu Moe, a Ngatingyi villager and allegedly an informer to the junta in Khin-U Township, on Monday morning.
  • Jungle Serpents had also killed Pyusawti leader Soe Min, Ko Soe Myo and Zaw Than in Pyintaung village at about 11:00 pm Saturday.
  • In Tigyaint Township, U Shan, former policeman and allegedly an informer to the junta in Kanni village, was killed by some unknown people at about 6:00 pm Tuesday.
  • In Dibeyin Township, the junta army opened gunfire and raided Ohnkha village at about 12:00 pm Tuesday. They destroyed the public’s property and took away goldware. Reportedly, 500 villagers had to run away.
  • On Wednesday morning, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • On Wednesday, Kalay people protested against the military dictatorship. They also showed their respect for the CDM and PDFs.
  • In Shwebo Township, local residents of a village marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday, chanting slogans for the victory of EAOs and PDFs in every battle.
  • At about 2:30 pm Wednesday, there were bomb explosions at an administration office and a vehicle registration office in Shwebo.
  • On Wednesday afternoon, there were military trucks going to and fro on Monywa-Ayadaw road. Reportedly, two local guerrilla forces attacked them with mines twice.
  • In Nganzun Township of Mandalay Region, an alliance of 3 local groups killed a male teacher Arnoe and a female teacher Mya Thandar Htay, allegedly informers to the junta in Myetine village.
  • On Wednesday morning, a rally of Mandalay variety force marched against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In honour of CDM heroes and PDF members, a rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools marched on Wednesday morning for building a federal union.
  • In Chanmya Thazi Township, Zaw Min, junta-appointed hundred-household leader in Kanthaya Ward, was shot dead at about 8:00 am Wednesday.
  • On Tuesday, Mandalay Monks’ Union made a night strike against the military dictatorship, holding signs in honour of teachers and other staff members in the CDM.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, the junta army arrested business people for no apparent reason in the 2nd week of September and asked for money by force. Reportedly, 3 business people had to give MMK 700 lakhs for their release.
  • In Kyainseikgyi Township, anti-junta women led a protest against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, there were 89 ward and village administrators. Among them, 39 administrators resigned officially and the remaining ones had to run away. According to local residents, basic administration collapsed there.
  • At about 3:30 pm Tuesday, YDF Gangaw conducted mine attacks on a convoy of over 50 military trucks invading Gangaw area. Reportedly, an armoured vehicle and 5 military trucks were damaged. YDF also confirmed that more than 40 junta soldiers died and 30 others were injured.
  • In Nay Pyi Taw CID office, there was an explosion during an investigation of evidence on Tuesday evening and 4 police officers were injured. Among them, a second police officer would need an amputation.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • KNDF called on the public not to shut all car mirrors while travelling on roads and streets in Loikaw, Dimawso, Fruso, Bawlake and Phasaung townships in order not to cause security misunderstanding for revolution forces and PDFs.
  • According to KNU, KNLA conducted an ambush against a military car near Mibone village in Thatone District on Sunday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died and 4 others were injured.
  • According to KNU, a military truck was attacked by mine explosion near Kawachaung bridge in Kyaikto Township at about 7:15 am Sunday. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and 5 others were injured.

Summary on 6th October

  • The military junta featured the news of their presence in ASEAN meetings to show as if they were having a good relationship with the association. However, they have not implemented the 5-point consensus yet and thus, ASEAN is being fed up with them. Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs said that they were considering holding discussions with the NUG. In addition, the Brunei Foreign Minister said that ASEAN ministers were discussing not to invite the junta leader to the ASEAN Summit. This appears to indicate that the military junta is beginning to lose influence in diplomatic affairs with the international community.
  • For the NUG, the French Upper House approved of the proposal to officially recognize them. The U.S government submitted a bill to take action against the military junta. As for China, they have closed border trade camps since July.
  • In Sagaing, Chin, Kachin, Kayar and Kayin, there were frequent battles. The boundry of urban guerrilla attacks expanded and such activities took place almost every day in Mandalay, Yangon, Sagaing, Magwe, Ayeyarwaddy, Mon and Bago. In Sagaing Region, the administration of the military junta collapsed and the administration of PDFs began to take shape. It also had an impact on bordering Magwe Region.
