The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights- NUG, said that the military junta, who had been conducting violence against youth and new generation, was really a terrorists organization.
  • According to the right to self-defence, the public has been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. The NUG announced that up to 40 junta soldiers died and 17 others were injured on Saturday.
  • On the special occasion of National Day in the Kingdom of Thailand on Sunday, CRPH Chair U Aung Kyi Nyunt sent a congratulatory statement to H.E. Mr. Chuan Leekpai, Speaker of Thai National Parliament.
  • For International Day of Human Rights, the NUG would lead a campaign- ‘Conquer the silence of human rights with the revolution’ to regain the enjoyment of human rights for everyone in Myanmar.
  • Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Risks Management- NUG pointed out that turning a blind eye to fulfilment of the needs of persons with disabilities at court and detention centres, the military junta had been openly breaking provisions contained the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, ratified by Myanmar.
  • Yangon Regional PDF announced that they would take revenge on the violent crackdown by the junta army in Yangon on Sunday, including the incidents of youth being crushed to death by car and opened gunfire.

Revolution Activities

  • In Kyimyindine Township of Yangon Region, a rally of young protesters was knocked down by a military car at about 8:00 am Sunday. Consequently, 3 young people died on the spot and another one lost their life due to a gunshot.
  • After the violent crackdown on the Yangon rally by the junta army, there was an anti-junta campaign in Thanlyin on Sunday.
  • In the downtown area in Yangon, a combined rally of students’ unions marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday, burning the 2008 Constitution Book and the junta national flag.
  • On Sunday, a combined rally of students’ unions and strike committees marched in Yangon, calling on people from all walks of life to join the fight against the military junta and their operation.
  • In Tandabin Township, U Hla Aung, USDP secretary, was shot dead on Saturday evening.
  • At 9:00 pm Saturday, there were exchanges of gunfire at the bridge on the side of Thanlyin, according to local residents.
  • In Sagaing Region, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Wetlet Township, women led a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday, holding anti-junta signs.
  • As a 270-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • According to a member of Myaung Township People Defence and Security Force, fuel oil on two military vessels, which had been confiscated in Chindwin River, was allocated with two barrels per village.
  • Despite warning against illegal logging in the south of Monywa, a motorboat, which had failed to follow the rule, was burnt down by Salingyi G -Z Local PDF on Saturday.
  • According to local PDFs, the junta armed forces from Chindwin River through Monywa and local police station had been invading Myaung Township.
  • In Salingyi Township, two military cars were attacked with mines by local PDF near Phaunggada Village. Reportedly, two junta officers died.
  • On Sunday, Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Chanmya Thazi Township, Mandalay Phoenix Force (M.P.F ) conducted a bomb attack at the house of Ko Nyan Aung, a captain of the junta army.
  • In Mahlaing Township, the junta army sealed off the house of Daw Thida Nyein, a regional MP, on Thursday night and arrested her relatives for no apparent reason.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township, a local guerrilla group threw a grenade at the grocery shop of an alleged junta informer in Kyaukphyu Village on Saturday night.
  • In Pha-Kant of Kachin State, local people and students marched against the military dictatorship and the junta education on Sunday.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, students and youth expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning, chanting- ‘Fight for human rights.
  • In Pulaw Township, a local-based army regiment (285) arrested 26 residents of Pawutkone Village for no apparent reason at about 1:00 am Thursday.
  • In Myeik Township, the junta army arrested 5 family members by force in Shwepyitan Ward on Friday evening, accusing them of supporting PDFs financially.
  • According to a focal person, the basic education program, led by Virtual Federal University, started for about 200 children from 4 IDP camps in Karenni State.
  • CDF Tunzan announced on Saturday that they would not allow operation of any tender businesses by the junta army in their township and that companies that fail to follow it would be regarded as pro-military ones and serious action would be taken against them.
  • In Maubin of Ayeyarwaddy Region, an unknown group shot at police camp on town entrance near General Statue at about 9:00 pm Saturday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to Mutraw newsletter, there were 10 battles between the junta army and KNLA in Pha-Pun District under control of KNU Regiment (5) from 1st to 3rd December. Reportedly, 6 junta soldiers died and 2 others were injured.
  • On Kachin-Sagaing border, local people played music and danced happily to welcome KIA and PDFs on their way back after conquering the junta army.
  • Until Friday, there were ongoing battles between the junta armed forces and KIA in Moenyin, Bamaw and Indawgyi areas, including Phakant-Lonekhine gems land.

The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing met with U Tin Oo; former commander in chief of defence forces and former patron of NLD retired major general Khin Nyunt and Sithu Bogalay Tin Aung, and encouraged them.
  • At the hall of administration council in Pyinmana, there was an event of giving 563 household lists and 2123 NRC cards to local residents of Kinmundan Village Group, a project by the Ministry of Population and Immigration, at about 10:00 am Sunday.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the junta minister of information, together with the junta chief minister of Yangon Region, attended a music competition at MRTV on Pyi Road on Saturday night.

Summary on 6th December

  • The junta armed forces ruthlessly killed peaceful young protesters by car in public and openly committed a war crime. Such an incident seemed to wake up some people who had become calm about the revolution.
  • The military junta have been driving peaceful youth to take up arms against them. After their violent crackdown on Sunday morning, there were many public protests in Yangon with revolution spirit.
  • In response to that incident, there was a bomb attack at the house of a junta officer in Mandalay. Yangon Regional PDF also announced that serious action would be taken against the violence of the junta army. Consequently, the revolution might gain great momentum.
  • In Sagaing Region, there were more areas under influence of local PDFs. On the other hand, the junta army made an effort to regain control of such areas, including Myaung Township, with excessive force.
