Yangon Region

  • In North Dagon Myothit Township, there was an explosion at Myein Maha tea-shop on Dabin Shweti road on Thursday morning. Reportedly, the shop-owner, allegedly an informer to the junta, was injured in the lower part of his body.
  • In South Dagon Myothit Township, there was a gunfire at Ward (53) administration office on U Pho Hla Phaya road at about 11:30 am Thursday.
  • In Kayan Township, U Win Khine, USDP candidate who lost in the election, was hit with two gunshots in front of a liquor-shop near Yemon monastery on Thursday morning while he was on his way to Kamalu village.
  • In Hlaing Township, a couple, who are the owners of a café in Ward (16), were shot at about 1:00 pm Thursday. Reportedly, the man died in the incident.

Mandalay Region

  • On Wednesday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military watchdog.
  • On Thursday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Thursday evening, a rally of Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship, chanting “We must win for those who have been arrested and who have lost their lives. So, our blood will not cool down. We will fight till the end.”
  • On Thursday, Ta-Ka-Tha rally conducted an anti-junta movement, “We will wash our feet with the blood of the military watchdog”.

Sagaing Region

  • On Wednesday night, there was a strike against the military watchdog in a village on the road-side of Monywa Amyint, banging pots and pans.
  • To mark their 179-day protest under any circumstances, a rally of Kalay General Strike managed to march against the military dictatorship on Thursday, distributing clothing masks.
  • On Thursday, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Ye-Oo Township, U Thaung Htay, administrator of Nyaung Nikan village group, was killed by a group of unknown people as he was on his way back home after getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • On Thursday, a rally of Monywa-Amyint community went around Yewinline area and marched for driving away the military watchdog.

Magwe Region

  • In Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public from the northern zone, expressed their objection to the military dictatorship at dawn on Thursday, holding signs - “The host does not accept you, Short Dog. Get out right now!”.
  • In Taungdwingyi, there was a bomb explosion at the house of U Htay Ngwe, administrator of Maung-Tai Ward (2), on Natmauk street at about 5:00 am Thursday.

Taninthayi Region

  • In Longlone Township, there was a protest against the military watchdog in Nyinmaw village on Thursday morning, with anti-junta slogans.
  • On Thursday afternoon, Longlone Township rally led an anti-junta movement, “Let’s drive away the military watchdog”.
  • In Dawei, the youth conducted an educational campaign on COVID-19, donating food and medicines to the public living from hand to mouth. They then protested against the military dictatorship.
  • On Thursday evening, a rally of southern Dawei expressed their disapproval of the military watchdog, burning a photo of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.

Kachin State

  • In Pha-Kant Township, local residents of Lonekhine went around the village on motorbikes and expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • On early morning of Thursday, the Winemaw-based junta army Ka-La-Ya (58) fired ammunition. Reportedly, mortars fell into near-by villages and exploded.

Shan State

  • Moebye PDF announced that they started to cooperate with local PDFs from all across the country as alliance brothers since 6th July.
  • On Tuesday, there was a fighting between the junta armed forces and MNDAA in Pansai. Reportedly, the military junta lost 5 soldiers, including two officers.
  • After the battle in Pansai on Tuesday, the junta armed forces wildly opened fire with mortars at Phai-Kaung village on Wednesday. According to local residents, many houses were damaged.

Kayar State

  • According to KNPP on Thursday, 7 people have been infected with COVID-19 at an IDP camp with 2541 people in the east of Loikaw Township.

Mon State

  • In Paung Township, the youth expressed their objection against the interim government or the military junta on Thursday.
  • On Wednesday, a man who had been detained at Kyaikmayaw Central Prison passed away. Reportedly, his family members did not believe the cause of death was disease.

Chin State

  • The spokesperson of CDF-Hakha said that Catholic priest and preacher from Sukwa were released on Wednesday. They had been arrested for having affiliations with the junta army.

Summary on 5th August

  • In Yangon, there were almost no protests. However, guerrilla revolution and junta-clearance activities took place all across the city. On the other hand, the junta armed forces conducted investigations.
  • In Mandalay, there were investigations around the city and efforts to get news about rallies. Therefore, there were not as many public protests as before.
  • In Sagaing Region, public protests had great momentum as usual. There were also clearance activities of junta-pillars.
  • As for other states and regions, they had very few protests. The public had been struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • In Kayar, Chin and Kayin states, there has been an urgent need for food and medicine for the IDPs.
