The National Unity Government (NUG) 

  • An event for International Women’s Day will be jointly organized by the National Unity Consultative Council-NUCC, and the Coordination Committee on Gender Policies and Ministry of Women, Youth and Children-NUG. 
  • On 1 March, there was a meeting via video conferencing between the Committee on Labour Affairs under the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the Ministry of Economics and Commerce-NUG. 
  • In a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public’s Administration and People’s Administrative Teams, the Minister of Human Rights-NUG claimed that it is necessary to know the real situation on the ground while trying to let the world know about the real feeling of the public beyond the propaganda of the military junta. 
  • According to Western PDF, they inspected junta army products, Mytel SIM cards and two agricultural loan enterprises in Minbu Township of Magwe Region. 
  • The Assistant Director of the Fire Department-NUG stated that there might be more cases of the burning of people’s houses in the Sagaing Region with most townships under martial law in 2023. 

Revolution Activities 

  • In a report by the United Nations, the Myanmar junta army has been in the position of constantly committing violence and human rights violations. 
  • In Nay Pyi Taw, there was a grenade attack on the junta gate at the crossroads of Chaing Village on Thursday night. Reportedly, 4 junta policemen died. Regarding it, Sittaung Urban Guerrillas claimed that they had carried it out. 
  • In Chaung-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army fired heavy artillery into Khinmon Village. Consequently, Mg Pyay Phyo Oo aged 13 and Daw San Kyi aged 67 lost their lives. 
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army shot dead a mentally-ill person and another man in Myauknone Village. 
  • In Kantbalu Township, the junta armed forces have been burning 2 local villages. 
  • On Saturday, Taze Township General Strike marched for sanctions on the energy companies working for the military junta. 
  • On Saturday, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin conducted an anti-junta march for immediate sanction on the Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise. 
  • On Saturday morning, a rally of Yinmabin North protested against the military dictatorship. 
  • In Pauk Township of Magwe Region, the junta army set fire to Kinma Village. 
  • In Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army stationed at the old police station in Yonebin Village. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died. 
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, Dawei District Democratic Movement Committee conducted an anti-junta talk against the products of PTTEP and PTT. 
  • In Longlone Township, the junta army raided Outkyoutwuit Village and killed 5 local people. 
  • In Phaya Thonesu on the border of Thailand and Myanmar, youth conducted a protest at a crowded market on Saturday, wearing shirts with anti-junta slogans. 

Ethnic Armed Organizations 

  • The leader of the Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS-SSA) stated that one pursues revolution based on his love for the nation and religion. He dares to fight and win as well as lose life. When reviewing the history of Sut Saw Yan Ta, he was committed to the national revolution and sacrificed his life. 

The Military Council 

  • The junta lobbyists have been spreading a fake statement online under the pretence of the seal of the National League for Democracy-NLD. 
  • The junta lobbyists have been spreading false information under the names of the responsible personnel of the NUG and the Chair of the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw. 
  • The junta army brought by force nearly 200 war refugees, who had run away to Thailand due to the battles in Wardine Village in Kawthaung Township on the border of Myanmar and Thailand. 
  • According to the junta UMFCCI, over 300 businesses from Taiwan have made investments in Myanmar and there are also discussions for more investment. 
  • According to the junta Ministry of Electricity, the construction will get started in Rakhine State for the 3 windmill power projects of China-Myanmar, which will produce 360mw, by this coming December. 

Summary on 4 March 

  • Recently, the military junta has been spreading more propaganda and false information to crack down on the revolution among the public. They have also been copying, editing and disseminating the criticism on the revolution to their advantage. 
  • With prejudice, the junta armed forces have been constantly burning villages and killing people ruthlessly in Sagaing Region.
