Yangon Region

On Wednesday evening, the junta armed forces in plain clothes were waiting to conduct a crackdown on a protest against the military watchdog by the youth in Yangon. Therefore, the rally did not take place and participants managed to move away just in time.

Mandalay Region

On Tuesday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military watchdog.
On Tuesday, a rally of Pyi/Gun with strong determination, led by Pyigyi Dagun Sayardaw, made a night strike against the military dictatorship. Sayardaw said in the protest, “We will fight this battle until we win. There is no need to discuss in bloody debt. The junta must leave lifelessly”.
In Maha Aungmye Township, members of Basic Education Middle School (12) Students’ Union (Ah-Ka-Tha) led a protest against the military watchdog on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, a rally led by Mandalay Monks’ Union made an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
In Patheingyi Township, the junta armed forces entered Kyuwun village, opening fire and exploding sound bombs many times. According to local residents, 15 villagers were beaten and arrested.
As their 177-day protest, Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, a rally of Mandalay Variety Forces marched for driving away the military junta.

Sagaing Region

On Tuesday, local residents made a night strike against the military dictatorship in a village of Monywa-Amyint roadside community, banging pots and pans.
With regard to mass killing by the junta armed forces in Kani Township, U Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, wrote a letter and reported it to the UN Secretary General.
Kalay townspeople marched against the military dictatorship, holding signs - “Let’s not forgive if our blood cools down”.
In the west of Tantsi Township, the dead bodies of two men, who had been killed by cutting off their heads, were found Wayange Mubaung mountain on Wednesday morning.
In Sagaing Township, U Aung Thaung, administrator of Sintut village, was stabbed to death on Tuesday.
Sagaing has become a region with the most resignation of ward/village administrators.
According to local residents of Kalay, a lot of junta soldiers arrived at Kalay airport by military planes on Tuesday.
In Monywa, the youth went around on their motorbikes in the rain on Wednesday and protested against the military watchdog.

Magwe Region

On Tuesday night, local residents of Myaing Township held a salute event for Ko Pho Htay, Myaing PDF leader who sacrificed his life.
In Pauk Township, the junta armed forces arrested a nursing student Ma Thinza Tun and three young people in Kinma, where almost the whole village had been set on fire.

Taninthayi Region

In Longlone Township, the students and the public marched in the rain on Wednesday afternoon and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
A rally of Longlone Township protested against the military dictatorship.
In the lower part of Longlone Township, the youth led a strike against the military watchdog in a village.

Kachin State

Starting from 7:40 pm Tuesday, Winemaw-based junta army Ka-La-Ya (58) fired ammunition using guns and mortars. Consequently, houses and cars were damaged and domesticated pigs killed in Laban, a near-by village.
In Pha-Kant Township, the students and the public from Lonekhine village marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning, chanting slogans in support of the KIA.
In Pha-Kant Township, there was a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship in Seikmu village on Wednesday morning.
Starting from 11:30 pm Tuesday, the junta armed forces shot mortars towards the Laiza, headquarters of KIO. Reportedly, some mortars fell into China and exploded twice.

Kayar State

According to KNDF, there were four battles between the junta armed forces and Karenni forces in Bawlake and Fruso townships on Tuesday. With a great loss, the junta army entered Nan-Phe village in Bawlake Township, destroyed houses and shops by gunshots, and stole money and other valuable things.
A convoy of military trucks invading Bawlake Township was attacked with mines by the Karenni Army and KNDF the previous day. According to KNDF, 3 military trucks were burnt, 11 junta soldiers died and more than 20 others were injured.
According to local residents, there was a fighting between the junta armed forces and local PDFs in the west of Fruso Township on Wednesday afternoon.

Mon State

In Paung Township, the junta armed forces arrested 4th-year students of Mawlamyein University Nan Sanda Win and Nan Su Pai Phoo at their houses in Sin village at about 6:00 pm Tuesday.
On Wednesday morning, Malawmyein youth made an indoors strike, calling for the public’s cooperation in the fight against the junta army in any possible way.

Chin State

According to CNDF, they had 8 battles against the junta armed forces within 4 months. Reportedly, at least 100 junta soldiers, including a captain, died and more than 40 others were injured.
Due to prohibitions and arrests made by the junta armed forces on the way to Mindat in transporting food and medicines, only 200 rice bags were left. According to local rescue team members helping the IDPs, they were in a situation with possible shortage of food.

Shan State

In Shan North, there was a battle between Kokant Army and the junta armed forces. A car from Monekoe was shot at on its way to the area of fighting. Reportedly, driver U Wun Min, a member of people’s army, died in the incident.

Summary on 4th August

In Yangon, the junta armed forces had been looking for young protesters and revolutionaries. Consequently, there were some cases of arrest. They were also waiting in advance of protests.
In Mandalay and neighbouring areas, the junta armed forces made investigations. In plain clothes, they also tried to get information about public protests.
In Sagaing Region, it had the second most resignations of administrators after Rakhine State due to junta-pillar clearance activities. As for the junta armed forces, they had been strengthening their power there, in addition to four types of shutdowns. Consequently, there might be more fighting.
In Kayar and Kachin states, there were battles again. Consequently, the number of IDPs might increase with a need for food and medicines.
As for other states and regions, they had almost no protests. Local residents had been struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic.
