The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that it was necessary to notice decreased water coverage of Inle lake and carry out activities for residents of the water area as well as for their gradual mobility to the land.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that after the completion of the iron and steel factory in Patpin area of Taunggyi, the import for such products would no longer be needed.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that trainees of the military academy were mostly commanders of infantry troops. If they learn systematic management of regiments, they will gain valuable management experiences which can also be applied in other areas.
  • In his tour at Taunggyi Ayethaya Industrial Zone, the junta leader said that it was necessary to put efforts into making agricultural and livestock products of high quality and exporting them beyond local market demands.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Defence- NUG announced that there were defensive attacks at 11 military targets of the enemy, 7 administration targets and 3 business targets on Saturday. There were also peaceful protests in regions for the end of the military dictatorship and for the emergence of federal democracy.
  • The NUG announced that there were two fair defensive wars in Sagaing and Magwe regions on Saturday. There were also 9 soldiers and 11 policemen who made contact to join the public.
  • In South Korea, the representative office of the NUG, elected by the public, was opened on Saturday.
  • National Unity Counselling Council (NUCC) announced that they would conduct a press conference on 5th October for the public to know key implementations in building a federal democratic union.
  • CDM Medical Network has been joining hands with the Ministry of Health- NUG and making the list of CDM medical staff throughout the country.

Revolution Activities

  • Putao PDF announced that they had shot a mortar at Mulashidi special inspection gate on entrance to Putao at about 1:00 am Sunday as a sign of warning and they would keep the opening fire on the arrival of the junta leader.
  • In Thayetchaung Township of Taninthayi Region, there was fighting between the junta army and a local PDF in Taungpyaut area on Sunday morning.
  • In a village of Longlone Township, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday morning.
  • In Monywa of Sagaing Region, Truth Army attacked junta police collecting money in Ayethaya area with two mines. Reportedly, 3 policemen died in the incident.
  • On Sunday, Pale PDFs conducted an ambush against the junta army invading Pale area with two military trucks equipped with mortars. Reportedly, no less than 25 junta soldiers died.
  • In Wetlet Township, Thein Tint, junta-appointed administrator of Yonbingone village, was shot dead by an unknown armed group at about 11:00 pm Saturday.
  • On Sunday morning, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • On Sunday, Kalay General Strike led a march for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Monywa, Township Basic Education Students’ Union carried out a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Shwebo Township, local residents of a village marched in support of the NUG on Sunday morning. They also expressed their desire against the military dictatorship, chanting slogans for the victory of EAOs and PDFs in every battle.
  • In Aunglan of Magwe Region, there was a bomb explosion at the office of population and immigration in Tayawgone Ward at about 5:45 am Sunday.
  • Despite internet blackout by the military junta in Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public from north west zone, marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Chanmya Thazi Township of Mandalay Region, Aung Moe, junta-appointed hundred-household leader was shot dead on 58 street and 103 street on Sunday morning.
  • After 5 monks and 3 people were arrested in a violent crackdown on their protest, the junta armed forces raided Myataung monastery on Saturday night.
  • Despite a violent crackdown on a rally of monks the previous day, Mandalay Monks’ Union, surrounded by the people, marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Thanlyin of Yangon Region, Ohn Than, allegedly an informer to the junta, got 3 gunshots; 1 in the head and 2 in the belly, on Sunday morning. Reportedly, he died on the spot in front of Tarwa Kanyinbin monastery.
  • In Kayan Township, a second police officer named Thet Lin Aung and another policeman named Sai Aung were shot near Yoegyi village at about 7:00 pm Friday. Sai Aung, who got injured in the incident, died after his surgery at a military hospital.
  • In Kyungsu Township, a person talked about junta informers while reading the news on Facebook. He was arrested on Saturday as a local informer reported to the police.
  • Nay Pyi Taw PDF announced that they, in cooperation with other revolution forces, would get started with urban guerrilla activities.
  • In Mawlamyeingyung of Ayeyarwaddy Region, two bombs exploded in front of Happy tea-shop in Ward (10) on Sunday morning.
  • In Phaya Thonesu of Kayin State, a rally of Iron Rose, led by women, expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Sunday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to KNU Brigade (5) Mutraw newsletter, there were 6 battles between the junta armed forces and KNLA in the area under the control of KNU Brigade (5) on 30th September alone. Reportedly, 23 junta soldiers died and about 30 others were injured, including 2 military officers.
  • According to PKPF, Mg Hla, a member of KNDF-BO9, lost his life on Friday in a clearance operation of the mines set by the junta army in Nanmekone of Dimawso Township in Kayah (Karenni) State.
  • Karenni State Police Force announced that a junta informer was caught with 67 tablets of illegal drugs.
  • KNU announced that the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (284) suffered a bomb attack in Phaya Thonesu of Winyay Township.

Summary on 4 October

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing went around the country and explained his reasons for the military coup. During his tour in Shan State, he instructed local people of Inle lake not to do floating plantations and solve the problem of decreased water in the lake by sending those people on the land. Consequently, Inle people might have to give up their native place. At a time of no normal trade or border trade, he gave instructions for more agricultural products and the export of the surpluses.
  • With strong networks among PDFs, there were revolutionary activities all across the country. Some PDFs said that they would conduct battles to take control of military camps.
  • Reportedly, the military junta had a great loss in fighting against local PDFs in Sagaing. As for the junta armed forces, they strengthened their manpower to fight back. Consequently, there might be heavy battles in the region.
  • Despite a violent crackdown on a rally of monks and the arrest of peaceful protesters the previous day, the monks’ union, surrounded by the public, continued to express their disapproval of the military dictatorship. In addition to other public protests in Mandalay, there were guerrilla revolution activities. As for Yangon, they gained momentum in clearance activities of junta informers and guerrilla revolution, not only in downtown areas but also in the outskirts.
  • In Magwe, Sagaing, Dawei and Ayeyarwaddy regions, there were activities of urban guerrilla revolution and clearance of junta informers. As for Chin, Sagaing, Kayin, Kayah, Kachin and Shan North, they had frequent battles.
