The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Daw Khin Ma Ma Myo, the NUG Union Minister of Economics and Commerce, attended World Trade Symposium held in London.
  • The NUG Ministry of Human Rights announced that they welcomed the decision of the United Nations Human Rights Council on Myanmar’s affairs.

Revolution Activities

  • In Thayetchaung Township in Tanintharyi Region, the junta army raided Meke Village at about 2:00 pm Saturday and shot dead two villagers; U Lin Mg and Ko Aung Than Htay. They also set fire to houses and arrested 22 local people to use as human shields.
  • In Longlone Township, youths conducted an anti-junta protest on Sunday afternoon, calling on the public not to take part in the water festival organized by the military junta.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, the junta armed forces raided Meke Village and Kyauk-I Village on Saturday and Sunday. Reportedly, la ocal PDF lost a member and houses were set on fire.
  • In Yangon, Soe Moe, a junta-appointed administrator, and one of his followers were murdered. After the incident, a PDF member was arrested together with weapons.
  • The General Strike Coordination Body called on the public not to take part in the artificial water festival and fun activities organized by the military junta.
  • In Hlaing Township, Dark Shadow (YGN) carried out a bomb explosion at 8:55 pm on Saturday to warn the RED-X Bar about paying taxes to the military junta.
  • In Aungmye Thazan Township in Mandalay Region, Zaw Moe Lwin, the administrator of Pyigyi Yanlone Ward, was shot dead at about 10:30 am Sunday.
  • On Sunday morning, the Mandalay General Strike marched against the military dictatorship, with a banner saying ‘The evil must end’.
  • Mandalay Force announced that the public were not to use the road around the Mandalay Moat between 5:00 am and 8:00 am on 4 and 5 April.
  • In Sagaing Region, youths from Monywa Township Basic Education Students’ Union hung an anti-junta banner in front of a school on Union Road.
  • On the 389th day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Khin-U Township, a troop of 80 junta soldiers opened fire on and entered Ngagyi Tingyi Village at about 8:00 am Sunday. Reportedly, they set fire to people’s houses.
  • In Khin-U Township, the Royal Tiger Guerrilla Force conducted a drone bomb attack on the junta army and Pyu Saw Htee militia camp in Pyintaung Village on Saturday. Reportedly, a junta soldier died and many others were injured.
  • In Shweku Township in Kachin State, Myohla PDF firebombed two junta motorboats carrying rations and weapons at 6:30 am Sunday. Reportedly, one of the motorboats sank and there were possibly junta casualties.
  • In Yesagyo Township in Magwe Region, the junta army fired mortars at Phyonebu Village on Sunday and shot dead a woman. Reportedly, they set fire to the whole village.
  • In Natmauk Township, the junta army arrested a monk from Kalashin Village at about 7:30 pm Friday.
  • Military officer Tin Lin Aung, who joined the Karen National Union, said that he was not a bootlicker. He also said that Min Aung Hlaing regarded the public as the enemy and stepped over the lives of soldiers.
  • According to the Young Mizo Association (Headquarters), they donated 200 rice bags and 10 packets of tarpaulin for tents to Myanmar war refugees on the border of Mizoram State in India.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • The Vice-Chair of the Chin National Front/ Chin National Army (CNF/CNA) said that the Spring Revolution would definitely win.
  • Dr. Shwe Kha, Vice-Chair of the CNF, called on some ethnic armed organizations to fight for the public, instead of sitting on the fence.
  • In Laykaykaw Area under KNU Brigade (6), a military officer and a soldier from the junta army deserted, together with their weapons.
  • On Saturday, Mai Ja Yang Institute of Education (MIED) conducted their graduation in Mai Ja Yang an area of Kachin State under the control of the KIA.
  • The 4th Summit of the EAOs which have signed the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) announced that they would be united in implementing the political roadmap adopted at the conference based on the essence of the NCA to resolve political issues in political ways.

The Military Council

  • Since Friday, the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System (MACCS) of the Myanmar Customs Department has been in use at Muse and Chinshwehaw on the Myanmar-China border.
  • The junta chief minister of Bago Region said that there must be more focus on producing sunflower seeds so that the country becomes self-sufficient in edible oil.
  • According to the junta media, the junta chief minister delivered a speech at a coordination meeting about cultivating sunflowers to make enough edible oil in Ayeyarwaddy Region.
  • Reportedly, the junta ambassador and deputy minister attended the first meeting on drawing up plans to shape the unity of ASEAN and deal with the geopolitical tensions in the region, which might arise beyond 2025.
  • The military junta announced that some private banks; CB Bank PCL, Ayeyarwaddy Bank, UAB Bank and Myanmar Initiative Bank; were granted the right to operate direct payments in yuan and kyats resulting from the border trade between Myanmar and China.

Summary on 4 April

  • In recent days, some soldiers from the junta armed forces, who deserted talked about the oppression among junta soldiers of various ranks. They also said that in addition to religious propaganda, the junta army was allowed to set fire to people’s houses and steal their belongings.
