Yangon Region
· At about 6:00 pm Monday, 44-year-old Daw Mya Mya Htwe or Myat Myat Htwe, a clerk at the junta administration office in Ward (72) of South Dagon Myothit, was shot by two unknown gunmen in front of her house. She was injured in her right chest and died on arrival at the hospital. After the incident, the junta armed forces conducted arrests. At about 9:00 pm, there were explosions at New Light Electronic shop near 18th turning and somewhere else.
· At about 7:40 am Tuesday, junta-appointed Ward (E/A) administrator U Sein Hlaing Win or Kyargyi, said to be an informer and USDP member, was shot dead at close range by an unknown gunman at Gaphugwe market in Thingangyun Township. After that, the junta armed forces came to the market and made inspections.
· Thingangyun Township Basic Education Young Students’ Association made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship in their township.
· At about 11:00 am, a policeman in charge of security was shot dead by some gunmen at Myanmar Economics Bank on Aweya street in Tamwe Township. After that, the junta armed forces blocked off the corner of Tamwe mosque, Aweya street, Aryu street and the corners of Thamaibayan and Arthawka streets. They then made inspections and opened fire. Due to their shooting, a taxi driver died and a woman was injured. The junta armed forces also kept snipers in the nearby buildings and tightened security measures.
· According to Yangon Federal Army- YFA, it is informing the military junta via social media posts about explosions in Yangon with exact locations. Consequently, the junta armed forces may come to the scenes immediately, which makes it difficult for the retreat of urban guerrilla forces. Therefore, YFA has requested the public not to create such posts.
· In Hlaingthaya Township, the junta armed forces have been placing warrants at the houses of some people who have run away for various reasons. Their warrants say that the people are to clear up the matters within 15 days and if not, their property will be confiscated. However, those warrants were issued with the date of 24th May.
· In Shwe Pyi Tha Township where military rule has been declared, the junta armed forces in the fire station opened fire to frighten motorbikers on Bayint Naung road on Tuesday afternoon. Reportedly, there was no injury.
Mandalay Region
· At about 11:00 pm Monday, there was an argument among police at Shwepyi police station in Shwepyi village of Sintku Township. As a policeman named Thet Paing Oo opened fire, a second sergeant named Shwe Sein Oo was hit with 6 bullets and died.
· In Ngazun Township, Aung Zaw Min, junta-appointed Kula village administrator, and his group had knocked over three young villagers on a motorbike with their car at about 7:30 pm Monday. As the residents got together and went to his house, he had fled to Ngazun and brought the junta armed forces. They then raided the village, beat the youth, destroyed a house and arrested three villagers.
· A rally of Mandalay youth went up to Thaitpan road and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
· The rally of Mandala University Students expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship, holding posters- “No chance to rule”.
· Manlay Pyinyat Monks’ Union took to the streets at noon and peacefully expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
· In Madaya Township, the local people got together at fields and protested against the military dictatorship.
· A rally of Man Engineer Family took to the streets on Tuesday and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
· The junta armed forces arrested second police officer Jony or Thura, who joined the CDM, from Chan Aye Thazan Township police station in Mandalay. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
· In Nahtoe Gyi Township, U San Win, junta-appointed village administrator of Latwe+Myinni, and 30 junta soldiers came into the village at 4:00 am with the excuse to arrest the young trainees of warfare training. They then raided the house of U Tun Naing, an NLD member, and the house of another villager U Aung Moe Oo. They took away their mobile phones and money. In addition, they robbed of the funding of the village funeral service group worth 8 lakhs.
· In Myingyan, the junta armed forces arrested a butcher for carrying a knife at the signpost to Bawdi Tahtaung.
· In Zibingan village of Taungtha Township, a clerk of the administration office, said to be an informer to the military junta, was shot dead at noon.
Bago Region
· At about 9:00 pm Monday, there was an explosion on Yangon-Mandalay railway at the entrance to Yeni in Yetashay Township while No. (1) mailing train was passing through. Due to the explosion, the mirror of the engine compartment was damaged and so were some parts of the railway.
· The rate of COVID-19 infection is on the rise in Bago Region. At Sitkwin police station in Minhla Township of Thayawady District, the police force tested COVID-19 positive and so did those in detention.
Ayeyarwady Region
· In Ward (3) of Myan Aung Township, 15 junta police and soldiers raided Zaw Htay liquor shop in the morning of 27th June, with the excuse that there was an air rifle that could be fired with gas. They then arrested the shop owner U Kyaw Win.
· Kyaik Latt PDF was established in cooperation with anti-junta groups in Kyaik Latt.
· At about 10:45 am Tuesday, there were three explosions in BEHS (1) in Kyaik Latt. There was also another explosion at the office of the township education officer. In the explosions at school, four people got injured. The junta armed forces came to the scene and made inspections.
Sagaing Region
· At about 12:00 pm Monday, Dibeyin PDFs attacked a convoy of military trucks with mines near Ywathit stream bridge between Kyi village and Ywathit village in Dibeyin Township. Reportedly, three junta police and soldiers (including a township police officer) were seriously injured.
· In Gabai village of Yinmabin Township, Yan Naing, a man who called himself a Pyusawti member and threatened the villagers, was shot dead at close range with Tumi gun at about 11:00 pm Monday.
· Ko Saw Pyay Chan Tha, a former journalist of Sagaing-based Zayar Times, arrested on 26th June has now been released.
· A rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship. During their sitting strike, health care staff members made an educational talk about preventive measures against COVID-19.
· A rally of CDM education staff members in Butalin Township, in cooperation with the general public from various villages, expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
· The rally of Sagaing Latbadaung Taung General Strike went around the villages and protested against the military dictatorship.
· In Monywa Township, the pro-military Pyusawti members placed the list of 48 NLD members and supporters on the trees at Union road and Thazi road traffic lights. They threatened to punish those people as well as their families, relatives and property.
· A rally comprising various villages in Tantsi Township went around the villages and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
· Despite being faced with the high rate of COVID-19 infection and its related deaths daily, Kalay residents went around the town in the evening and protested against the military dictatorship.
Magwe Region
· In Myaing Township, more than 100 residents of the southern zone made a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
Taninthayi Region
· In Pulaw Township, U Myint Naing, the junta-appointed administrator of Myohaung village, fell with knife wounds in his head on Monday evening. Despite being sent to hospital, he died. After that incident, the junta armed forces conducted arrests and made inspections in Pulawgone village group.
· In Dawei, Ko Aung Soe, a final year student at Technology University, had been arrested by a large number of the junta armed forces on 25th May. With the charges of Section (505-a/c), he was sentenced to three years in prison at the junta court.
· Amidst tight security measures by the junta armed forces, a rally of Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with the rally of young students, expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
· In Longlone Township, residents of Maungmagan village expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship, holding signs- “We will never kneel before your army boots”. Moreover, there were rallies against the military dictatorship in Nyinmaw, Thabya and Pyinsathimaw villages in the morning and the evening respectively. A combining rally of Yebyu and Gadat Nge Seik villagers expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
Kachin State
· In Putao Township, 60 junta police and soldiers in 6 cars tried to arrest Shin Htan The Ran, a resident of Myoma Ward, at noon Monday. As they didn’t find him, they arrested his brother-in-law as a hostage and detained him at Putao township police station.
· In Pha-Kant Township, the public from Lonekhine village group expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on Tuesday morning.
· After the attack at the checkpoint near Balamintin bridge that joins Myitgyina and Winemaw, the military junta has announced the change of bridge using hours from 5:00 am – 8:00 pm to 6:00 am – 7:00 pm. They have also tightened security there.
· The local people in Moegaung Township made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship.
Kayah State
· Despite the ceasefire by KNDF, the junta armed forces continue to open fire. In Moebye on Shan-Kayah border where there are many Kayinni or Kayar ethnic people, the junta army (422) shot at two young people on a motorbike between Yekata village and Pintha village. One young man died on the spot. This is the first case in which the civilians were shot 20 days later after the ceasefire.
· In Dimawso Township, the military junta dismissed 1123 staff members of Basic Education for joining the CDM.
· In Lwaikaw, a large number of the junta armed forces conducted mobile patrols in town on Tuesday morning.
· According to PKPF, there were up to 74 people who lost their lives due to the military junta in Kayah State.
Kayin State
· At about 8:10 pm Monday, two motorbikers dropped a hand-made sound bomb on U Aung Zaya street in Ward (5) of Myawady. It exploded in front of the junta township court and the house of the township administrator.
Chin State
· Chin National Organization/ Chin National Defense Force announced on Tuesday that the public in Phalan Township is not to go to Bahr-Webula-Pamon Chaung road. About 100 junta soldiers, who came from Kalay, have been stationing at Bahr bridge in Phalan and Locom and Pamon Chaung villages.
· In Chin State, the military junta dismissed 43 staff members of the city development department for joining the CDM.
· There was a burglary at City Development housing near Mindat General Administration office where the junta armed forces have been taking security measures. Reportedly, valuable things were taken away.
· In Mindat where military rule has been declared, Myoma Market was opened on Tuesday morning until 2:30 pm. The junta armed forces arrived there in the afternoon and took photos.
Mon State
· In Painnegone village of Thatone Township, a junta soldier died due to a sniper from KNLA on 27th June.
· The youth in Mawlamyein Township protested against the military dictatorship, holding signs with words of strong determination.
Shan State
· In Namkam, residents had expressed their objection to SSPP/SSA. At that time, an explosion had happened. A person had died and three other people had been injured. According to SSPP/SSA, they were not responsible for the explosion.
· A bomb had exploded near Namkam market during the protest against RCSS/SSA. After that, the market was deserted on Tuesday as people did not dare to come there.
· In Muse, it was U Maung Zaw, chair of Dhamma School Organization in town, who had been found dead with his mouth closed and bloody wounds on the roadside to upper Namhum village
in the morning of 26th June. Reportedly, another young man who had been found alive was the son of a teacher from BEHS (1) in Muse.
· According to a telegram in the name of Daw Thuza Aye, the junta education officer of Theinni Township, MNDAA and KIA have warned to close the schools in Theinni Township of Shan North and to call back all the teachers. If not, they could not guarantee the security of those teachers.
· In Naungcho Township, some students were among those who tested COVID-19 positive. Therefore, the schools have been closed temporarily.
Rakhine State
· In Mrauk-U Township, a 20-year old man named Maung Soe Tun was found dead with knife wounds in a field at Ywa Haung Taw village on 27th June.
· In Thandwe Township, some teachers tested COVID-19 positive at basic education schools. However, the military junta has been putting pressure through the township education offices to keep opening the schools.
Nay Pyi Taw
· The military junta has signed an MOU to export 350,000 tons of beans to India for five consecutive years.
· Due to the high rate of COVID-19 infection in Nay Pyi Taw where the military junta has been taking office, the night markets in the compounds of Thabyegone and Myoma markets will be closed.
· Regarding Section (505-b) against the public’s leader- Daw Aung San Su Kyi, President U Win Myint and Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council Dr Myo Aung, objections were made to the documents submitted by the military junta. However, the junta special court made a decision allowing those documents for the submission of evidence. The documents were the announcements by NLD Executive Committee on 7th and 13th February.
· According to U Min Zayya Oo, Deputy Minister for Planning, Finance and Investment- NUG, the military junta has received the taxation of nearly 40000 lakhs from local private companies.
Summary on 29th June
· In Yangon, there were still guerrilla protests on the streets as well as cases in which some junta police and soldiers were shot. There were also the deaths of some people due to the armed forces firing blindly. Explosions happened constantly in Yangon during the curfew hours. Likewise, the informer-clearance activities were carried out. As for the military junta, they have been arresting and inspecting motorbikes in the townships where military rule has been declared. They have also been conducting mobile patrols and secret patrols in other townships.
· In Mandalay, the public protests were ongoing with great momentum. There were also mobile patrols by the junta armed forces. Regarding COVID-19 transmitted cases, social help is being provided by the CSOs in a good relationship with the military junta.
· Although local PDFs have ceased fire in Moebye on Shan-Kayah border, the junta armed forces continue to extend their operating area. Consequently, there were the deaths of some people.
· In big towns and villages of other states and regions, there were still public protests against the military dictatorship. Due to the high rate of COVID-19 infection, such protests had to be suspended in some towns.
· To show that they can control COVID-19 infections, the military junta has been putting pressure not to close schools in some towns. They just use lockdown measures in the regions where there are many COVID cases. They have been putting effort into the operation of the economy which has fallen after the coup. At the same time, they have been collecting taxes by force in the country.
