The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Tuesday, the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) called on the UN Security Council and international governments to take effective action against the genocide of the military junta and authorize a No-Fly Zone.
  • In accordance with the right to self-defence, the public have been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. The NUG announced that up to 53 members of the junta armed forces had died and 7 others had been injured on Tuesday.
  • According to the NUG, their bonds can be bought with USDT Stablecoin as well as via international bond agents. They would also carry out direct payment to the NUG account soon.
  • The NUCC announced that they would make an effort to stop war crimes of the military junta as soon as possible. They also urged anti-junta people and organizations to keep their unity in the fight against the military dictatorship.
  • Dr. Sasa, Union Minister of International Cooperations-NUG, said that the US National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) played a vital role in Myanmar’s democracy affairs and it was a progressive policy of the US government.

Revolution Activities

  • The US foreign minister condemned the incident in which the junta armed forces had killed 35 people in Karenni State, including 2 staff members of Save the Children, by burning them on 24th December. He also said that they would enhance their cooperation with international community to take action against the Myanmar junta army.
  • At 10:30 am Wednesday, members of Karenni Force and relatives buried bodies of the IDPs, who had been burnt alive to death by the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (108) near Moso Village in Fruso Township.
  • In Phakant, local people conducted a march, chanting slogans for the KIA, PDF and the NUG, and against the military dictatorship.
  • At about 10:30 am Wednesday, there was a bomb explosion in front of Pansodan tax office in Yangon downtown area.
  • In Insein Township, members of the Yangon Federal Army and CGF-HTY threw grenades at Ywama Police Station at about 5:45 am Wednesday.
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, a combined rally of villages, led by women, marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday as their 294-day protest.
  • As a 294-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Monywa, Daw Ei Phyo Su, wife of Captain Myo Myint Aung from the junta army and non-CDM staff member of the township administration office, was shot dead on Tuesday morning.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning.
  • In Tantsi Township, Win Zaw, an immigration officer, was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Monday morning.
  • From 26th to 28th December, PDF Gantgaw conducted mine attacks at the junta armed forces on Kalay-Gantgaw road. Reportedly, 20 junta soldiers died.
  • In Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee and the public marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Mandalay, there was a bomb explosion in Maha Aungmye gems ground on Wednesday morning.
  • In Mandalay, the military junta have been evicting railway-side squatters by force and thus, those people are in difficulties.
  • In Paletwa Township of Chin State, a white flag was raised in the junta army Ka-La-Ya (289), according to local CDF.
  • At about 7:30 pm Tuesday, the military junta arrested two people who had answered the media interview about the white flag raised in the junta army Ka-La-Ya (289) in Paletwa Township.
  • In Thayetchaung Township of Taninthayi Region, a combined force of junta soldiers and Pyusawti members was attacked with mines on Moeshweku village street on Tuesday evening as they were on their way back from patrol.
  • In Shan South, Ywangan Township PDF announced on Monday that they had been collecting a list of junta informers for clearance.
  • On Tuesday, a combined force of local PDFs announced that they, together with revolutionary organizations, would get started with their military operation in Southern Shan State.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Loikaw of Kayah (Karenni) State, a combined force of JPDF-Rangers, KDF and GZ-21 conducted an attack at district police office at about 3:00 am Wednesday. Reportedly, 2 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Kayin State, KNU issued 4 points on Monday, which local people must follow, to control the military junta strengthening their military power with the use of civilian cars on Kawkarait-Myawaddy Asia Highway.
  • In Phakant Township of Kachin State, there was fighting between KIA and the junta BGF at the crossroads of Jahtu Zup village at about 10:15 am Monday.

The Military Council

  • Reportedly, Min Aung Hlaing instructed responsible personnel not to receive any letters or warrants sent to the junta leaders by international organizations, including ICC and the Argentina Court.
  • The junta newspaper said that the military junta had been carrying out necessary activities for local people to reside there again after identifying, arresting and controlling CRPH, NUG and PDFs hiding around Timewaki and Metawthalay in Laykaykaw new town.
  • The military junta announced time tables for 2022 matriculation exam in March and April.
  • According to the junta newspaper, Min Aung Hlaing and other junta leaders went to Kokoe Kyung Township and explained that they had seized power due to electoral fraud in the 2020 General Election.
  • The junta ministry of health announced that there were the first cases of people who had been infected with COVID-19 Omicron variant.

Summary on 29th December

  • In the statements and words of the military junta, they just blamed the NUG and PDFs without criticizing KNU and ethnic organizations. Although they were reportedly negotiating with the KNU, they were rejected by the ethnic organization. It highlights that they were trying to divide EAOs and NUG/PDF.
  • The inhumane cruelty of the military junta was undeniably seen by the global community. As they were faced with international pressure, they were in hardship. At such time, they told lies to international community as if PDFs had been carrying out the violence.
  • In recent months, the junta armed forces conducted violent crackdowns on peaceful protesters in Shan South and they even raided houses with gunfire in their arrests. After a few months of silence, local youth established local PDFs and announced on Tuesday that they would start their fight against the military junta throughout the area.
  • Historically and geographically, it has been the area with powerful armed groups. If revolution gets started there, the military junta may have a great loss.
