The Military Council

  • According to the junta newspaper, the Myanmar team took part in Tank Biathlon (Division-2) of International Army Games-2021, which was being held in Russia, starting from 22nd August. After the group match, Myanmar stood second and deservedly sailed into the final.
  • The junta Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs had a coordination meeting on the plans which would guarantee the future of former sports champions who had raised the image of the country.
  • The military junta announced that according to Section (419) of the Constitution, military officer Kyaw Lin Aung was replaced with military officer Aung Kyi Lin to be Minister of Security and Border Affairs in Kachin State Government.
  • According to the junta media, Dr. Mg Mg Naing, chair of Nay Pyi Taw Council, and other responsible personnel visited the cooperative farm of farmer U Mg Thin in Nyaunglunt village group of Tatgone Township on Thursday morning.
  • The junta Ministry of Health announced that when monitoring the genes of the disease through some laboratory samples of the patients from outbreak and across the borders, the infection of COVID-19 Delta Variant was still found in Myanmar.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township of Yangon Region, 4 motorbikers were stopped for inspection by the junta armed forces near Tadar Phyu bus-stop on Nyaungtone road on Wednesday night. As they did not stop their motorbikes, they were shot by junta soldiers. According to local residents, one of them died in the incident.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced daily that People’s Embrace warmly welcome those who join the public instead of the military junta. Those who had difficulties joining the CDM could contact the support team for people’s soldiers and police.
  • The NUG announced that Acting President of the NUG and other government officials met with a delegation of MPs, led by chair and vice-chair of sub-committee of foreign affairs and assistance under the committee on foreign affairs, defence and trade of Australian Parliament, on Tuesday afternoon and discussed Myanmar’s affairs.
  • The NUG continued to issue part (4) of a preparation plan for the public during conflicts, containing precautions for the people in the areas at risk of attack with mortars.

Revolution Activities

  • On 30th August, there was a fighting between Nay Pyi Taw PDF and the junta armed forces. Nay Pyi Taw PDF announced on Thursday that the military junta had losses.
  • In Thanlyin, a man came to the house of Ko Win Tun, 100-household leader in Tamalone Myayaryoe village, at about 11:30 pm Wednesday and stabbed Ko Win Tun, who was severely injured.
  • On Thursday morning, a poster containing an anti-junta slogan was hung on Yangon Bargara overhead bridge.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township, Tin Maung Win, member of the administration in Ward (20), was shot dead at about 8:00 am Thursday. Reportedly, one of the junta military officers, who came to inspect the incident, was also injured in a bomb explosion.
  • Hlaingthaya informer-clearance group warned Win Naing and his accomplices, who are informers to the junta in Hlaingthaya.
  • CDF announced that they would take full responsibility for those who want to be people’s soldiers and leave the junta army. As for the fully-armed ones who join the CDM, they would be provided with refuge and a financial reward of 50 lakhs.
  • In Paung Township of Mon State, a pregnant woman named Ma Ei Thwe Moe was shot dead by the junta armed forces in Katight village group at about 10:00 pm Wednesday. According to local residents, her husband was also hit with a bullet and sent to hospital as he was severely injured.
  • On Thursday, Mawlamyein youth conducted an indoors strike against the military dictatorship, “Fight for freedom and democracy”.
  • In Pha-Ang Township of Kayin State, related equipment under MyTel telecom-tower in Pawhtaw village was destroyed by burning on Thursday morning. Reportedly, 4 people in the neighborhood were arrested.
  • On Thursday, a rally of Mandalay variety forces marched against the military watchdog.
  • On Thursday, a rally led by Mandalay Monks’ Union made an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • According to local residents, the junta armed forces set fire to Wunchone village in the south of Pauk Township at about 12:35 pm Thursday.
  • In Myothit Township of Magwe Region, Aung Soe Min, the junta-appointed administrator of Ima village, was shot dead with 15 gunshots at about 6:30 pm Wednesday.
  • Baitthanoe PDF announced that they had killed U Aung Soe Min, junta-appointed village administrator in Myothit Township, the previous night.
  • On Thursday, young residents of Kalay led a protest against the military dictatorship.
  • On Wednesday, there was a night strike of banging pots and pans in a northern village of Salingyi Township, to drive away the military watchdog.
  • On Wednesday afternoon, the junta armed forces, who were on their way back from Bantbwe village, were attacked with mines by Yinmabin PDF near Kwechaung village. According to local residents, no less than 12 junta soldiers died.
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion in front of the regional agriculture office in Tonepho Ward at about 5:45 am Thursday.
  • As a 176-day protest, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Monywa Township, a rally of Monywa General Strike marched up to Martyrs road and protested against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Moenyin of Kachin State, the junta armed forces, in cooperation with Pyusawti members, arrested local residents of the town and near-by villages on Wednesday night.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • On Thursday, KNU Concerned Group released a statement saying that they would support their best for warfare, administration, political and diplomatic movements by the NUG and CRPH.
  • KNU announced that they formed 6 working groups for the situation in the emergency period after the military coup.
  • On Thursday, the KNU Concerned Group announced that the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) had ended.

Summary on 2nd September

  • Depending on China and Russia, the military junta had been trying to gain recognition in the community of international diplomats. Moreover, they had been putting efforts into the operation of administration. However, they did not make it even after 7 months of seizing power because of the pandemic, the public and the CDM. The number of CDM staff in the military gradually increased. Many soldiers desired to leave the junta army which is hated by most people. Therefore, it was likely that CDM cases would be on the rise in the army.
  • At present, there’s a black market for US dollar due to the gap between the current price and the fixed price set by the military junta.
  • In Sagaing and Mandalay, public protests still had great momentum. In Yangon, guerrilla revolution became powerful and so did the clearance-activities of junta-informers. As for Sagaing, their armed revolution was in great momentum. As the junta armed forces conducted oppression in the area of Sagaing, local residents had to run away from them. In Chin State, the CDFs were in unity. KNDF comprising local PDFs became the most powerful with characteristics of an army.
  • KNU, an ethnic armed organization, fully supports the NUG.
