The Military Council

  • The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday that restrictions on international tourists to Myanmar had been extended till the end of October for COVID-19 prevention and control.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Health, basic education students between the age of 12 and 18 in Nay Pyi Taw will get the Sinovac vaccination as a pilot project.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they are continuing on the path of democracy which the people desire. The 2008 Constitution cannot be abolished as it was adopted in a public referendum. They accept that sections which were no longer relevant need to be amended.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that Shan State was self-sufficient in rice. The surpluses need to be of quality standard for export.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing told the armed forces of the eastern region that those who unfairly won in the election were not true representatives of the public.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • As the celebration prior to World Teachers’ Day, Ministry of Education-NUG will organize a public talk at 1:00 pm Sunday.
  • The NUG announced that there were 3 fair defensive wars in Kayin, Magwe and Sagaing on Friday. There were also 6 soldiers and 8 policemen who made contact to join the public.
  • The NUG announced that the office of Myanmar’s Representative had been opened in the Czech Republic.

Revolution Activities

  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, U San Lin, a newly-appointed village administrator, was shot dead the previous day. He had uttered the words through a loudspeaker in the village that he was not afraid of anyone and thus, he would take the position of administrator.
  • According to Yaw PDF, the junta army was attacked with mines on Saw-Kyauktu road on Friday morning. Including a military officer named Bone Myint Kyaw, 4 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • After 8 months of military coup, the People’s Revolution Army (PRA) announced that they would get started with battles to take over the camps as they had the manpower and weapons.
  • In Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces raided Pyintaung village at about 4:30 am Friday and shot 5 people dead in the field for no apparent reason, including a 5-year-old child.
  • In a village of Yinmabin East, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday at dawn.
  • In Monywa, anti-junta youth conducted a guerrilla protest on Saturday, placing a banner at downtown traffic lights - “Demolish all pillars related to the junta army”.
  • In Salingyi Township, local residents of a village made a night strike against the military dictatorship on Friday, banging pots and pans. They also saluted the heroes who had lost their lives in the 8 months of the Spring Revolution.
  • In Shwebo Township, local people marched for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Saturday, chanting slogans for the victory of EAOs and PDFs.
  • After exchanges of fire between the junta army and Htigyaint PDF, junta soldiers shot two motorbikers dead near Ditaw village on Htigyaint-Myitgyina road.
  • In Maha Aungmye Township of Mandalay Region, the junta armed forces in ordinary cars conducted a violent crackdown on a rally of Mandalay Monks’ Union at about 1:30 pm Saturday. According to local residents, a monk was hit with a bullet and 5 others were arrested.
  • Min Nyi Naung guerrilla force announced that they had set fire to the service wires of MyTel telecom tower near Nabekan village in Wandwin Township on Friday.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township of Yangon Region, 2 junta soldiers died and 4 others were injured in the fighting against City Guerrilla Force at Phayalam traffic lights on Yangon-Pathein road on Friday morning.
  • According to local residents of Mayangone Township, there was an argument between two men at a billiard station on Friday night. After that, the junta army arrived there and shot one of them dead.
  • At about 8:40 pm Friday, there was an explosion near the Local Revenue Department close to Dawbone Thinbawgyin bus-stop.
  • In Longlone Township, basic education students marched against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Dawei, a man named Ko Yazar Tun died after 4 days of being arrested.
  • In a village of Longlone Township, a rally of women made an anti-junta movement on Saturday, “Bright red roses of the Revolution”.
  • At about 4:00 pm Friday, police officer of Dawei deep sea-port and other members in a car were attacked with a mine on the road near Lwin Moe construction site in Yebyu Township. According to local residents, the car crashed and many people were injured.
  • In Thanphyu Zayat Township of Mon State, a MyTel telecom tower beside Mawlamyein-Yay highway was destroyed by a combined force of Yay and Thanphyu Zayat PDFs at about 6:00 pm Friday.
  • In Dimawso Township, a female IDP returning to Konetha village stepped on a mine set by the junta army at about 8:30 am Saturday and she lost her leg.
  • At about 8:30 am Saturday, a student named Ko Yan Paing, who had been seriously injured by the violence of the junta army and had died, was buried at Kwaygyi cemetery.
  • In Muse, the junta police and people’s army opened gunfire and arrested 6 young people at a house in in Namkam Satmu Ward and at about 8:00 pm Friday.
  • In Shweku Township, the junta army raided Moesit village on Friday evening and arrested a woman, accusing her of supporting the PDFs.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Monekoe Township of Shan North on Myanmar-China border, there were heavy battles between the junta armed forces and MNDAA in the last week of September. Reportedly, there were casualties among local residents.
  • According to local residents and KIO, there were battles between the junta armed forces and KIA on Tanai-Lido road and in Moemauk Township of Kachin State.
  • According to Katha PDF, 100 junta soldiers, who left for Indaw on foot, were attacked with mines by a combined force of KIA and Katha PDF. Reportedly, no less than 30 junta soldiers died.

Summary on 2nd October

  • The military junta explained the reasons for the coup to armed forces and family members in Shan State. At a time of instability due to the military coup and COVID-19 pandemic, they are expecting international tourists for the tourism sector. Such management highlights their stupidity.
  • In Sagaing, Kayar, Chin, Kayin, Kachin and Shan North, there were heavy battles. The network between EAOs and PDFs became stronger for military operation. In Sagaing, local PDFs became more and more powerful. They said that they would get started with the fighting to control camps and towns. Assumingly, there would be more severe battles in the region.
  • As for the NUG, they have been trying to get better at diplomatic affairs in the international community. They have been putting efforts into opening representative offices in many countries. In addition, they have been working to bring life to their administration.
  • It was disheartening to hear that the junta army conducted a violent crackdown on Mandalay Monks’ Union and many monks were injured. Due to the arrests and killing of the military junta, public protests gradually decreased. On the other hand, armed revolution gained momentum and so did clearance activities of junta administrators and informers.
