The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The Secretary of the Ministry of Judiciary Affairs-NUG said that when implementing public administration, the NUG would soon open courts for a judiciary system in Sagaing Region with powerful public administration teams.
  • At 10:00 am on 30 April, there was a meeting between Ministry of Judiciary Affairs-NUG and township judges from 17 townships. Reportedly, U Thein Oo, Union Minister of Judiciary Affairs, led the meeting.
  • Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG said that when building the administration system, the NUG formed an alliance with state administration teams and exercised the policy through consensus.
  • Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG announced that the military junta had killed 24 people and arrested 36 others within a week.
  • Ministry of Education-NUG announced that short courses were organized for the constant learning of students. Reportedly, a short course on workplace English would begin on 11 May and it would last between 3 months and 5 months.
  • In Sagaing Region, the NUG has been providing assistance to fire victims from the villages which were burnt down by the junta armed forces.
  • The NUG has been carrying out activities to expand administration areas in Bago Region. Reportedly, Myanmar people from international community started their contribution worth 300,000 USD to the Bago Project.

Revolution Activities

  • In Khin-U Township of Sagaing Region, the junta army raided Inpak Village at 10:30 am Monday and set fire to the whole village.
  • In Dibeyin Township, there was an attack with 15 projectiles at a local police station on Sunday noon. Reportedly, 3 members of the junta police force died and another one was seriously injured.
  • In Salingyi Township, the local PDF and alliance warned again that the Letpadaung Copper Mine run by the Chinese company Wanbao and the junta Myanmar Economic Holdings Limited (MEHL) should not operate.
  • In Kalay Township, there was a fighting almost the whole day between the junta army and local PDF in Ashaysee Village on Sunday. Reportedly, 2 PDF members lost lives and junta soldiers set fire to the village.
  • In Shwebo Township, a combined force of local PDFs conducted a bomb attack via drone on junta soldiers taking a rest at Tasegyi Religious Hall on 29 April. Reportedly, there might have been casualties.
  • As a 418-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Chaung-U Township, 12 people, allegedly Pyusawti members, were killed in Kinmondaw Village on Sunday.
  • After the battles in Minkin Township, local PDF found 5 gold bracelets in the pocket of a dead junta soldier in their area clearance operation. Reportedly, they have been making inquiries to find the real owner.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a march for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, there was a march in honor of Thiha Thu, who lost his life in a protest last year, and against the Fascist army.
  • In Longlonee Township of Taninthayi Region, young residents of a village expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In a village of Longlone Township, a combined rally of women and youth conducted an anti-junta movement on Monday morning.
  • In Zaytoattaya of Magwe Region, the junta army beat and arrested Ko Aung Myint Tun and Mg Pu in Autwun Village at about 2:00 am Monday.
  • In Salin Township, local PDF conducted an attack with powerful explosives on a junta police contingent on patrol. Reportedly, 6 policemen died.
  • In Myaing Township, the Basic Education General Strike Committee and local people carried out a protest against the military dictatorship on Sunday evening, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, PDF attacked the gate of Alpha cement factory, owned by the junta army, at about 2:30 am Monday.
  • In Kyaukbadaung Township, KDF shot at U Nay Win, the junta administrator of Sanpya Ward, at 12:30 pm Monday.
  • In Thanlyin Township of Yangon Region, Yan Naing Shwe, a member of the military junta and candidate of USDP, was shot dead on Sunday while he was having a haircut. After the incident, there were inspections made by blocking Thanlyin Bridge and overnight guest list checks.
  • On Sunday night, the junta army arrested the whole family of Ko Nyan Win Htet, a student of Yangon Eastern University, as they could not find him.
  • According to prison staff, various forms of oppression of political prisoners in Insein Prison are getting worse and worse under the tenure of the military junta.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • On Monday morning, BPLA released the video of the attack in which KNLA took control of the junta Kyauknget camp on 28 April.
  • Somewhere on Mindat-Matupi Road in Chin State, local CDF attacked a military convoy on Monday morning. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.

The Military Council

  • Eneos, a top Japanese energy company, in cooperation with partner producers from Asia, announced it was pulling out of the junta Yedagun Gas Project.
  • According to the junta media, the junta chief minister of Magwe Region attended the event of distributing rain sunflower seeds for free for successful cultivation of oil crops in the 2022-23 agricultural season and for sufficient edible oil.
  • The second junta leader instructed coastal forces to understand and follow foreign policy contained in the Constitution as well as territorial agreements between the two countries in the border area.
  • The junta election commission stated that they had given more time for National League for Democracy (NLD) and Shan National League for Democracy (SNLD) to be inspected.

Summary on 2 May

  • Due to the oppression of the military junta, there were very few protests in Yangon and Mandalay in recent days. However, there was an increase in activities of guerrilla revolution and junta-pillar clearance operations.
  • In Mandalay, the so-called Thwethaught Group under the military junta has been committing murders on a daily basis. Being the city with the most racial and religious extremists, Mandalay has to face the danger of such a powerful bloody gang.
  • In Sagaing Region, there were battles between local PDFs and the junta armed forces. With a great loss, junta soldiers set fire to villages and kill people as usual. Consequently, thousands of local residents have had to run away.
