Yangon Region

· Among 120 trainees at the junta CID police training school in Insein, 114 tested COVID-19 positive.

· At about 11:00 pm Thursday, the junta armed forces arrested Ko Kawl Tan Bwis, an engineer in Thingangyun Township, at his apartment. The reason for the arrest is still unknown. He was the leader of the Mizo Young Students Group when he was a student at Kalay Technology University.

· At about 8:00 am Friday, an explosion happened on Myenigone overhead bridge in Sanchaung Township while an anti-junta poster was being removed by the junta police. Their police car was damaged. Enquiries are being made for details of the injury. After the explosion, the junta armed forces blocked off the street temporarily and made inspections.

· At about 9:50 am, there was an explosion at the electricity office on Yangon-Insein road in Ward (9) of Hlaing Township.

· At about 1:40 pm, an explosive was allegedly found near Seikkantha road (at the top of Mahabandula road) in Kyauktada Township. The junta armed forces blocked off the road and made inspections.

· Reportedly, the junta armed forces have been conducting mobile patrols in Yangon, using plain clothes people and taxis.

Mandalay Region

· Burning the national flag, a rally of Mandalay youth protested against the military dictatorship on Friday morning.

· Amidst tight security measures by the junta armed forces, a rally of Mandala University Students expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· At a crowded market in the city, a rally of Man Variety Forces expressed their objection to the military dictatorship. It included Ba-Ka-Tha, Cooperative University students, education family, Seinban Mye and Daung Sitthi.

· A rally of Man Aungmye Thazan Schools expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship, chanting “Give back our Mandalay”.

· Man Engineering Combining Forces expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship and for the emergence of a federal democracy.

· A rally of Man Myataung burnt the national flag as a symbol of a bloody nation and protested against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.

· Manlay Pyinyat Monks’ Union peacefully expressed their desire for the release of those who have been unjustly arrested and against the military dictatorship.

· Holding a clothing banner - “Chan/Zi in Unity”, Chanmya Thazi public rally expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship.

· Some young residents of Mandalay made a paper strike with anti-junta words.

· Mandalay (N.G.U:FF) announced on Thursday that they had cleared two junta informers named Kyaw Sein and Kyaw Kyaw Min in Chanmya Thazi Township on 18th and 25th June. They also gave the last warning to the junta informers to stop their affiliation with the military junta.

· The military junta has declared Chanmya Thazi, Chanaye Thazan, Pyigyi Dagon, Maha Aungmye, Aungmye Thazan, Patheingyi and Amarapura as stay-at-home townships in Mandalay Region.

· In Nweyone village of Sintku Township, U Aung Myint, the village administrator who was allegedly an informer for the military junta, was shot dead by some motorbikers at about 8:00 am while he was buying betel in a betel shop. After that, the junta armed forces raided the village and the villagers had to run away.

· According to Myingyan Public Movement Committee, the junta armed forces took away two motorbikes of local residents at the football ground in the west of Kula village in Myingyan Township on Thursday. They also said that they must be ransomed in Kyi village if the villagers wanted them back.

Bago Region

· In Pyi, Ko Soe Min, a resident of Phokaung Ward, had been arrested by the junta armed forces at about 11:00 pm on 29th June. He died after being sent for interrogation. His family was informed to come and collect his dead body on 1st July.

· The military junta declared Minla and Thayawady as stay-at-home townships in Bago Region. They had already done the same in Latbadan and Phyue townships. After that announcement, the schools in Minla Township were closed temporarily.

· At about 6:00 pm Thursday, there was an explosion in front of the house of the junta-appointed administrator in Nwecho (2) Ward of Paungti in western Bago. Reportedly, there was no injury.

· At about 6:00 am, Aung San Win or Jitpwe, allegedly a junta informer in Hinthagan Ward of Paungti, was shot dead near the administration office on his way back from Paungti on a motorbike. Bago PDF announced their involvement.

· In Kyarnikan Ward of Shwetaung, 19-year old Mg Aung Aung Lwin had been arrested by the junta armed forces on the night of 28th June, due to the report of an informer that he had used offensive language referring to the junta leader. He died on 1st July, but his family was not informed about that. His dead body was disposed of by burning. Reportedly, the informer and his whole family ran away after the arrest.

· In Latbadan, 40 junta police and soldiers had arrested Ko Nyein Chan Wai, a journalist of Bago Weekly Journal, at his house on 14th May. He had been charged with Section (505-a). Reportedly, he was also charged with Section (124-a) for stimulating the public to hate the Union and the Government.

Sagaing Region

· After an explosion in Monywa industrial zone on Thursday, 23 young people were arrested on suspicion. Among them, Ko Nge Lay died 6 hours after the arrest. Reportedly, his family was informed to come and take his dead body.

· In the east of Kawlin Township, 50-year-old U Kyi Htoo, said to be an informer to the military junta in Ywashe village, was shot dead.

· In Tamu, 50 junta police and soldiers raided the houses in Sawbwa (7) Ward, the southern area of the market and around BEPS (5), with the excuse to check the overnight guest list. Reportedly, some people were arrested. However, the arrests still need to be confirmed.

· A rally of Monywa General Strike took to the streets on Friday morning and expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship.

· In Pale Township, U Kyaw Oo, said to be a junta informer in Gabayat village, was shot dead in his head at about 5:00 pm Thursday as he was on his way back from Monywa.

· With the COVID-19 preventive measure of 3 feet away from each other, young residents of Kalay marched round the town on Friday morning and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· To mark their 114-day protest against the military dictatorship, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East continued to express their desire on Friday. They also distributed pamphlets on the prevention of COVID-19.

· In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung Taung General Strike went round the township with many people and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship. 

· In Katha Township, KIA regiment (5) made a remote attack with mines as the junta armed forces arrived at the monastery beyond Moetalay village. Reportedly, a lot of junta soldiers were injured.

· The leader of Sagaing PDF said to the media that among 37 townships in Sagaing Region, the PDFs in 27 townships were able to cooperate.

· In Minkin Township, there was a fighting between local PDFs and the junta armed forces in Pansat village at 9:00 am Friday. It is still unknown about the injured on both sides. Reportedly, the junta armed forces have been stationing in the village.

Magwe Region

· In Myothit Township, the junta armed forces raided Palinpyagyi village on Thursday evening and arrested three villagers, who were on their way back from farms, for carrying knives. They then raided Magyigone village and uninstalled 10 PSI satellites. They also told the villagers to uninstall the remaining ones and threatened that if not, they would harm the village.

· In Gantgaw Township, local residents of Hnanka village made an indoors flower strike with anti-junta words in flowers.

Taninthayi Region

· In Dawei, a 37-year-old man, a resident of Uthayan Ward who was allegedly an informer to the military junta, was shot at the western bridge in Myaungpale Ward at about 4:00 am Friday. Reportedly, he was injured.

· Starting from 10:00 am, the sound of the firing mortars and shells was heard near Boat mountain between Kadwe and Seikchaung villages on Dawei-Myeik road. Enquiries are being made to know which group had carried it out for what purpose.

· A rally of Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with students, made a protest against the military dictatorship on Friday afternoon, distributing anti-junta pamphlets.

· In Taninthayi Region, more than 300 basic education schools cannot be reopened, mostly in Longlone and Dawei, due to the teachers being in the CDM and no enrolment of the students.

· In Thayetchaung Township, Bagyishaung villagers made a protest at dawn and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.

· In Longlone Township, the youth in Yebyu and Maungmagan villages made a protest at dawn and expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship. Young residents of Nyinmaw and Thagyettaw villages protested against the military dictatorship, holding signs - “We will never kneel down before your army boots”.

Kachin State

· In Winemaw, the junta armed forces opened fire and raided the house of U Ingon Zaw Aung in Maina village Ward (2) in the early morning of 1st July. At that time, the people were preparing for a house-warming ceremony. Reportedly, a person died, some were hit with bullets and 30 people were arrested.

· In Winemaw, town-based junta army (Ka-La-Ya 58) shot mortars towards Mongyaik village at noon Friday.

· In Dawphoneyan Township, KIA made a remote attack with bombs near Tonephone village at about 9:30 am Friday. As the junta armed forces responded by firing blindly, an old farmer of over 60, who had been working near Moele stream, and his 3-year old grandson were hit with bullets and were injured.

· Amidst tight security measures by the junta armed forces in Pha-Kant, local residents of Lonekhine group expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship.

Tamakan rally, which had faced crackdowns and arrests, made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship, chanting in support of the PDF.

· Amidst tight security measures by the junta armed forces, a rally of Pha-Kant General Strike went round the township and protested against the military dictatorship.

· Holding anti-junta banners, the public in Moegaung made a farming strike against the military dictatorship.

Kayin State

· Among those in detention at Pha-Ang prison with the charge of Section (505-a) for joining the anti-junta movements, 34 men and 13 women have been released.

· In some villages of Pha-Ang Township, the junta Border Guard Force (1014) sent for the community leaders and said that one person per village must join the army. They also threatened that if the villagers could not carry it out, they must pay money for the replacement.

Kayar State

· In Shadaw Township, the military junta dismissed 54 basic education staff members who have joined the CDM.

· At about 9:45 am Friday, the sound of gunfire and mortars came out from Palaung and Dawtayo villages in the east of Lwaikaw. Therefore, the local residents had to run away. Reportedly, the junta armed forces who came from Lwaikaw-Shardaw road on Thursday, have been stationing at a monastery beyond Palaung village.

Chin State

· In Phalan Township, a troop of junta soldiers have been stationing in Lamte village. Besides this, ammunition was fired as a threatening act in some villages on Natchaung-Webula-Phalan road on Friday morning. So, the villagers had flee.

· Due to the shootings among the police at Phalan police station on 30th June, Sergeant Buha died of a gunshot on Friday morning.

Mon State

· To fight against the military junta and put an end to the military dictatorship, Paung Township People’s Defense Organization - PDO and Yay Township Defense Force - YDF have established an alliance.

· With the theme - “Donation in Revolution”, the youth in Paung Township made a protest against the military dictatorship, helping those in need.

· Young residents of Mawlamyein went round the township on motorbikes and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

Shan State

· In Theinni of Shan North, Theinni People’s Defense Force TN P.D.F was established to carry out actions for town and informer-clearance activities, in cooperation with the alliance of anti-junta forces and other PDFs.

· At Naungtain jetty in Namkam, a man named Ikman was shot dead by an unknown group of armed people at about 8:00 pm Thursday.

· In Ponpagyin of Maiton Township, police officer Aung Kyaw Swa sang at Panthazin KTV karaoke, holding his gun. He accidently fired his gun and hit U Kyaw San, a senior clerk in the city development committee, in the next booth, who died on the spot. The police officer has been detained. 

· There were battles between Shan ethnic armed organizations - SSPP/SSA and RCSS/SSA in Kyaukme Township. So, more than 800 local residents had to flee to Maingau sub-township and more people came there on Friday morning.

· Due to COVID-19 infections in Kyaukme, the junta city development committee instructed the markets to close for unlimited days and the restaurants to sell take-away. However, the schools will be still opened.

Rakhine State

· In Maungtaw, 93 people; transferred staff members and their family members, tested COVID-19 positive. The teachers from some primary schools were COVID-19 positive and thus, those schools were closed. As two teachers from two high schools caught COVID-19, their classes had to be closed.

· In Kyaingchaung village of Mrauk-U Township, two fishermen were robbed by a group of 5 people at Sathema stream. Their mobile phones, a fishing motor and some belongings were taken away.

· In Ang Township where there is no protest against the military dictatorship, the curfew has been extended for two more months, starting from Friday.

Nay Pyi Taw

· The UN Secretary-General António Guterres made a request again on Thursday evening, calling for the immediate release of President U Win Myint and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi, who have been unjustly detained by the military junta.

· The Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Response Commission was established with the Union Ministers of the NUG, led by the Acting President.

· Switzerland has added the junta-appointed Attorney general, four ministers and three deputy ministers to the sanction list, restricting their travel to Switzerland and their property in Switzerland. Moreover, 4 organizations doing gems and timber businesses were included on the list.

· The trial of U Win Htain, a leader of NLD, was conducted at the special court inside Nay Pyi Taw prison on Friday.

Summary on 2nd July

· In Yangon, the protests were silent. However, there were still explosions and some members of the junta armed forces were injured. In addition to mobile patrols and inspections in almost every township, the military junta has been conducting patrols with plain clothes people and taxis.

· In Mandalay, public protests were ongoing with great momentum. With the excuse of COVID-19, the military junta has declared stay-at-home in the townships of Mandalay. Later, they will disguise the arrests of protesters for not following the disaster rules, rather than for political reasons.

· There were informer-clearance activities in the townships of Sagaing and Bago regions.

· In other states and regions, there were still public protests. Although local PDFs ceased fire in Kayar State, the junta armed forces continued to fire ammunition. Consequently, the IDPs cannot return home yet.

· The military junta has carried out administration operation in the country. They have been working at township-level offices, rather than ward-level ones. There are still shootings among the members of the junta armed forces. It will be regarded as the weakness in unity at their basic level. The COVID-19 infection all across the country has highlighted weak administration of the military junta. Through local tele-communication companies, there are campaigns calling for the cooperation in the COVID-19 vaccine programme.
