The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that a human rights newsletter, which contains the cases of villages, houses and belongings being destroyed, CDM staff members being arrested, youth being arrested, ill-treated and killed, and family members being arrested as hostages, will be published every two weeks.
  • Acting President of the NUG announced that they would respect and follow agreements of official governments, and that they had assigned responsibility to the Deputy Minister of Electricity and Energy and his/her appointed personnel to carry out activities related to contracts on the State’s oil and gas enterprise.
  • Dr. Sasa, Minister of International Cooperation, said that investigations by the military junta were not based on legal principles at all, and they were doing it in real time on purpose to damage the spirit of the public.
  • Dr. Sasa, Minister of International Cooperation, said that the military junta had arrested and imprisoned the public’s government and NLD members unjustly so that they could grasp power by force and prevent Myanmar people from enjoying the essence of democracy, independence and freedom from fear.
  • The UN Credentials Committee denied representation of the military junta at the UN and Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun continues in his post.
  • CRPH released a statement welcoming the decision of the UN Credentials Committee not to entitle the junta envoy Aung Thu Rein to represent Myanmar.

Revolution Activities

  • On Thursday, Mandalay Monks’ Union, surrounded by local people, marched against the military dictatorship, chanting for the release of those in detention.
  • In Maha Aungmye Township, allegedly a USDP member was shot dead in Ayethuka Ward at about 11:00 am Thursday.
  • The military junta arrested the mother of Ma The Su Naing, the former Chair of Meiktila University Students’ Union. So far, they have caught up to 5 members of her family.
  • In Paletwa of Chin State, the junta armed forces have been recruiting people from the IDP camp, including youth, by force for hard labour and military service.
  • To mark the 7th month of a violent crackdown on their protest, a combined rally of Wetlet led a public’s campaign against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • On Thursday afternoon, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East, in cooperation with farmers, expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
  • According to MPFI-D, Ko Aung Myo Htet, journalist and former editor of The Voice who had been arrested in Kantbalu Township, was sentenced to two years in prison under Section (505-A) at the junta court.
  • In Salingyi Township, Latbadaung General Strike, in cooperation with Monywa Students’ Union, carried out a motorbike strike against the military dictatorship on Thursday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of villages, led by women, marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday, the 106th birthday of Lutu Daw Amar.
  • In Shwebo Township, a car of junta soldiers in plain clothes was attacked with mines by a combined force of local PDFs near Ziphyugone Village at about 2:00 pm Wednesday.
  • As a 298-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.
  • On Thursday morning, a rally of Monywa-Amyint road-side rural community, led by women, protested against the military dictatorship, holding an anti-junta banner.
  • In Minkin Township, local PDFs shot at 2 vessels of the junta area clearance operation team going down the Chindwin River near Nga Ohn Village on Thursday.
  • In Saw-Kyauktu Area, local PDFs carried out a funeral for a captain from the junta army (101), who had died in the invasive attack.
  • On Wednesday, Longlone Township Students’ Union conducted a night strike against the military dictatorship, holding signs - ‘We will never be silent in your tenure’.
  • According to ISP-Myanmar, 86 people have been sentenced to the death penalty at the junta courts until 1st December after the military coup. Reportedly, 47 of them have been in detention and 39 others have been sentenced but are not in custody. Most of such people are from North Okkalapa Township.
  • In Kawmu Township of Yangon Region, the junta army arrested and inspected almost everyone in Yaykyaw Village, giving an excuse of two missing guns.
  • At about 6:00 am Tuesday, the junta army arrested a member of Dawei Variety Force, a former journalist of 7Day News and his family in Taninthayi Region.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, there was a fighting between the junta army and a combined force of KNLA+local PDF near Shwegeyo Village from 8:25 am to 10:30 am Thursday. Reportedly, no less than 10 junta soldiers died and 5 others were injured.
  • According to KIA sources, 32 junta soldiers, including military officers, died and their weapons were confiscated by the KIA and combined forces in the battles in Moenyin and Indawgyi of Kachin State.
  • According to a focal person of KNDF, Loikaw-Dimawso Dawtamagyi-Bawlake road sections would be closed for unlimited days, starting from 3rd December, as there would probably be heavy battles against the junta armed forces.

The Military Council

  • The religious badge offering ceremony for (2021) was held at the hall of the Council Chair Office in Nay Pyi Taw. Present on the occasion was the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
  • According to the junta newspaper on Thursday, over 30 young people, who had taken up arms against injustice in Mandalay Region, were arrested.
  • According to the junta newspaper, U Kyaw Lin; former Deputy Minister of Construction, U Than Win; former Minister of Transportation in Bago Region, Deputy Director U Aung Myint Oo, U Ye Min Zaw and U Nay Aung Ye Myint were charged under the anti-corruption law.
  • Dr. Thet Thet Khine, the junta Minister of Social Welfare, said that it was necessary to promote education, health and socio-economic status of street children and especially change their mindset. She also said that vocation training would be provided for such children if they could no longer continue their education.
  • U Mg Mg Win, the junta deputy minister of Planning and Finance, said that they would proceed implementation of the staff’s future funding system with the objective to develop a national pension system.

Summary on 2nd December

  • The military junta continues to face hardships in the international community. They were regarded on an equal basis as the Taliban, religious extremists. In Sagaing and Kayah, the junta armed forces continue to set fire to whole villages, kill local residents and take away their belongings in invasive attacks.
  • Even in Kawmu Township, neighbouring area of Yangon City, the junta army arrested and ill-treated the whole village. They also set fire to villages in Kayah, making an excuse of invasion. Consequently, local PDFs had to make a notice warning the people. There might be battles in the area in the days to come.
  • Reportedly, the junta armed forces were faced with ambushes in Shwebo Township and Minkin Township of Sagaing Region. They also had a great loss due to the battles in Kachin. They faced the same in Mon State because of the fighting by a combined force of KNU and Kyaikto PDFs for two consecutive days.
  • As for Mandalay, Sagaing and Dawei, they had public protests. There were no such activities in Yangon until the evening.
