The Military Council

  • According to the junta media, the Myanmar Trade Promotion Team under the Ministry of Economics and Commerce represents the country and together with over 200 international organizations, they will take part in World Expo 2020 (Dubai), which will be held for 6 months starting from 1st October.
  • With the cooperation between the Ministry of Economics and Commerce and the Myanmar Fuel Oil Importers and Distributors Association, fuel oil will be sold in states and regions at reasonable prices. On Monday, the junta newspaper contained the list of such shops.
  • According to the junta Ministry of Health, there was an agreement with China for the procurement of 24 million doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccines. Among them, 4 million doses arrived again at Yangon International Airport on Sunday evening.
  • According to the junta media, the junta chief minister of Kachin State and other responsible personnel discussed farmers not having to face the burden of higher prices of chemical fertilizer.
  • Three people, including Ma Pa Pa Hlaing, were arrested unjustly with the accusation of supporting Minkin PDF with food, medicine, money and weapons. In the junta media, they were mentioned as terrorists.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • For the end of the military dictatorship and the emergence of federal democracy, the public has been taking part in the People’s Defensive War. According to the NUG, there were attacks at 11 military targets of the enemy, 9 administration targets and 3 business targets on Sunday. There were also peaceful protests against the military dictatorship in various regions.
  • Dr. Sasa, Minister of International Cooperation and spokesperson of the NUG, said that they would try their best to put an end to the military dictatorship and COVID-19 pandemic as quickly as possible for no more loss of valuable lives.
  • Ministry of Human Rights- NUG called for anti-junta activities which would not hurt civilians, including innocent children, in the fight against the military coup in any possible way.
  • Revolution Activities
  • According to local residents of Hlaing Township in Yangon Region, six bombs exploded in a row near a cigarette factory connected to the military junta on Monday morning.
  • In Thaketa Township, there was a bomb explosion in front of No. (1) police station at about 1:00 pm Monday.
  • According to local sources, there were explosions in Thaketa Township, South Dagon Township and Bahan Township on Sunday. In South Dagon Township, Myat Tun, administrator of Ward (26), was shot dead.
  • In Hleku Township, there was a bomb explosion in the compound of the village administration office on Sunday night.
  • According to the townspeople, a trishaw driver, allegedly an informer to the junta in Hleku, was shot dead on Monday morning.
  • On the border of Yangon Region and Bago Region, Thayawaddy entrance gate was closed, starting from 7:00 pm Sunday. According to travellers, over 300 vehicles had to wait there.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship.
  • On Monday, Mandalay District Students’ Union protested against the military dictatorship.
  • At about 9:30 am Monday, there was a bomb explosion in the compound of vehicle registration office on Thaitpan road. Reportedly, some people were injured.
  • In Dimawso Township of Kayar State (Karenni Area), the junta armed forces stationed in the houses of the public near Konetha, Kyauksekan and Tesule villages. They also destroyed the property on their retreat.
  • In Konetha village of Dimawso Township, an old man was hit with a bullet by the junta armed forces and died the previous day. As his body was carried to the cemetery on Monday morning, the car of the charity group was damaged in the front left side due to the mine by the junta military. Reportedly, there were no casualties.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday, in memory of hero Ko Pho Chan who was shot dead by the junta army 6 months ago.
  • In Thazi village of Kalay Township, CDM police Ko Zaw Myo and villager Ko Than Htike Aung were arrested and shot dead by the junta armed forces.
  • In Shwebo Township, local residents went around a village on Monday morning and expressed their desire for supporting the NUG. They also protested against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Monywa Township, the junta armed forces raided Monyway and Kyaymone villages at about 5:30 am Monday. They then shot the villagers dead and arranged to set fire to houses. According to local residents, some villagers were trapped.
  • Sagaing PDF warned all junta-appointed ward administrators in the region to resign, starting from 26th September. They also called on them to join the public.
  • In Yinmabin Township, 3 young night watchmen were shot dead by the junta armed forces at about 6:00 am Sunday while they were sleeping in a house near Kansu village. According to local residents, another person who was hit with a bullet got arrested as well.
  • After Chaung-U PDF warned all administrators to resign, a horde of village and ward administrators did so.
  • In Moemauk Township of Kachin State, there was a mine explosion at Lwejel divergent point in Alinkaung Ward at about 10:00 am Monday.
  • In Pha-Kant Township with the internet blackout, local residents protested against the military dictatorship every day without fail.
  • In Matupi Township of Chin State, the junta armed forces were stationed at the district office under construction near Ngalai village. According to local residents, the whole village had to run away, except for the elderly and the sick.
  • In Ngayotekaung Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, the junta army accused a village of providing military training to PDFs. They also threatened that the village would disappear from the map if the trainees were not given.
  • The junta armed forces announced that they would practice shooting mortars in Dawei river from 28th to 30th September.
  • On Monday, Namkan townspeople led a march against the military dictatorship, calling for a boycott against military products.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • KNDF announced that their member Naw Yo was arrested by the junta army invading Konetha village and he lost his life on Sunday.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, Koe Ko, a member of Loikaw PDF aged 25, lost his life in the fighting against the junta army at Kyauksekan village on Saturday. Reportedly, his funeral was carried out on Monday.
  • In Dimawso Township of Karenni State, Dawyo, the second leader of KNDF troop (1), lost his life in a battles against the junta armed forces. His funeral was conducted at 1:00 pm Monday and a lot of KNDF members attended it.
  • Dimawso PDF announced that they had confiscated the weapons from the junta army that ran away in Kyauksekan battle.
  • Starting from 9:30 am Sunday, there was a clash between the junta armed forces and an ethnic armed organization between Lasho and Theinni. Reportedly, the road was closed temporarily.

Summary on 28th September

  • During the tenure of the military council, the country has been in economic hardships with high prices for everything. At the junta shops, fuel oil can be bought with the prices fixed by the junta. The public wonder if they have to buy fuel oil in a queue like the situation under Burma Socialist Programme Party.
  • In Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been conducting extreme violence against the public. In addition, they carried out telecommunication blackouts in some areas and thus, the situation there is still unknown.
  • In Sagaing, Kayar, Shan North, Kachin, Chin and Kayin, there were heavy battles against the junta armed forces. Reportedly, the military junta had a great loss. As for local PDFs and EAOs, some members lost their lives and some others got injured.
  • As for Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Dawei, Magwe and Kachin, they had public protests, urban guerrilla attacks and clearance activities of junta informers. Among them, Sagaing Region is the most powerful one.
