The National Unity Government (NUG)

· The National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC) sent a congratulatory statement to the 35th anniversary of the founding of the National League for Democracy (NLD) Party.

· Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) sent a congratulatory statement to the NLD Party on the 35th anniversary.

· The Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that they had spread the brochures via drone on the junta armed forces stationed in Ye-U of Sagaing Region. Reportedly, the brochures called on the junta soldiers to join the public.

· According to the PDF Military Headquarters under the Ministry of Defence-NUG, there was an attack via projectiles on the junta’s No. (15) Weapons Factory in Ywamatone Village of Aunglan Township in Magwe Region.

· In Htilin Township of Magwe Region, the revolution forces attacked a junta troop contingent, killing 5 soldiers.

Revolution Activities

· In the statement on the 35th anniversary of the founding of the NLD, it focused on calling for the health and liberation of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, State Counsellor and Chair of the Party.

· In Kyaukse Township of Mandalay Region, U Pho Aung (alias) Aung Min was shot dead in Anauk Ngetoe Village as he had joined hands with the military junta for the oppression on the public.

· In Myingyan Township, the junta soldiers and Pyusawti members arrested and killed a father and his son in Nabu-I Village. They then discarded the dead bodies on the road side.

· In Yay of Mon State, the local PDF attacked the junta soldiers taking security at the junta’s Myawaddy Bank in Yangyiaung Ward at about 12:00 pm Tuesday.

· On Tuesday, The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights stated that the junta army in Myanmar had increased their attacks on the civilians after the military coup and that the human rights conditions had deteriorated in the country.

· In the event on the 35th anniversary of the NLD, Dr. Daw May Win Myint, the Chair of Women’s Committee, read a statement on the federal activities that 10 women from the Party had been killed for with no apparent reason.

· The NLD called on the UN Credential Committee to keep U Kyaw Moe Tun, the Ambassador appointed by the civilian government, as Myanmar’s Representative to the UN.

· In Shweku Township of Kachin State, Myohla KPDF announced that 9 junta soldiers had died and 11 others including an officer had been injured in a battle on the river.

· Volker Turk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, called on the UN Security Council to transfer Myanmar’s issue to the International Criminal Court as Myanmar’s military junta would not immediately give up or change their power abuse in the country.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· According to a report by the Karen Peace Support Network, the control of the military junta has significantly decreased in Kawthoolei Area of Karen State in the southeast of the country.

· According to the KPSN, the military junta has had to let go of military and administrative affairs in the southeast of the country since the military coup and the alliance of Karen National Union has gained more control in the area. Reportedly, it has been a direct threat for the transportation between Yangon and Naypyidaw.

· In Thanglang of Chin State, a sergeant from Chin National Army lost his life in a battle on Sunday morning.

The Military Council

· In the September report by Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, it was mentioned that Myanmar’s junta army had conducted about 1000 airstrikes over the period of two years after the military coup and at least 281 junta soldiers had lost their lives.

· According to the junta propaganda team, they caught four of the criminals who had run away from the detention center at Dala Myoma Police Station in Yangon Region.

· According to the junta Ministry of Transportation and Communication, there will be action against the sale of SIM Cards without registration under the law of communication.

· On World Tourism Day which falls on 27 September every year, the military junta held an event at MICC II in Naypyidaw, along with exhibitions and competitions.

· The junta Minister of Education said that there would be a 40-day literacy movement in Kachin State and Shan State as well as some areas in other states and regions starting from December.

· The junta propaganda leader General Zaw Min Tun claimed that the governments of China and Myanmar had improved their relations.

Summary on 28 September

· The military junta have less areas under their control whereas the EAOs have been able to influence more areas. Despite their dependence on Russia in the early period of the coup, the military junta has again turned to China for assistance.

· Even amidst the calls of the international community, the military junta with the don’t-care-attitude has constantly committed massacres and ruthless ill-treatment of the public. On the other hand, the international community has been taking many measures to take action against the junta army.
