The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Myanmar people in New York went to the office of Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, who had protested against the military dictatorship at the UN conference after the coup in Myanmar by the junta led by Min Aung Hlaing, and paid their respects to him.
  • On Friday, there was a meeting between the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the International Parliamentary Organization.
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs-NUG announced their condemnation of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

Revolution Activities

  • Despite the internet blackout in Phakant for more than 6 months, there was a strike against the military dictatorship by banging pots and pans on Saturday. Local people also showed their support for the KIA and PDF.
  • According to a leader of People’s Soldiers, 3 lieutenant colonels from the junta army joined the CDM and there were also many others who would do the same.
  • According to military sources, officers and soldiers from the junta air force were arrested and interrogated at Yegyi-I with regard to the bomb attack on 2 Yak 130 fighter jets at Hmawbi Air Force on the night of 18 February.
  • In Ward (3) of Mayangone Township in Yangon Region, the junta armed forces arrested a group of young protesters in a raid on Friday. According to local residents, a young man died and two others were hit with bullets.
  • At 8:40 pm Friday, the Kayan PDF conducted an attack with a 40 MM grenade on the Phayapyo Police Station.
  • In Karenni State, the junta armed forces dropped 500-pound bombs and killed local people near Nanmekone town.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, a convoy of 12 military trucks was attacked in Ingabo village at 10:00 am Saturday. Reportedly, there were exchanges of fire for about 20 minutes.
  • As a 353-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Yinmabin Township of Sagaing Region, 5 military helicopters fired ammunition near Chinpone village at 9:00 am Saturday while there was an event on the completion of a PDF training.
  • In Tantsi Township, the junta army shot mortars into Chaungyoe village at 2:00 pm Friday. Reportedly, some houses were damaged and the whole village had to run away.
  • In a village of Dibeyin Township, local people, surrounded by PDF members, marched against the military dictatorship on Friday.
  • In Chauk Township of Magwe Region, the junta army arrested more than 20 young people aged 15 in Shweponetaung green area on 21 February. Reportedly, junta soldiers sexually assaulted those young boys. According to Magwe Public Strike Committee, those youth were in danger for their lives.
  • In Yesagyo Township, local PDF attacked the junta army demanding money from fuel trucks on Pakkoku-Chaung-U road. Reportedly, a captain and a soldier died, and a gun was confiscated.
  • On Saturday, a combined rally of students, monks and the public in Mandalay marched up to 35 street and protested against the military dictatorship, holding anti-junta posters.
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwaddy Region, a primary school teacher was arrested on Friday for her social media post criticizing the military junta.
  • In lower parts of Ngaputaw Township, junta-appointed administrators threatened local people that there would be arrests and lawsuits against those who would not get vaccinated for COVID-19.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • According to Mutraw Newsletter, the junta Border Guard Force wildly shot mortars in Phapun District. Consequently, a civilian died and 4 others, including women and children, were injured.

The Military Council

  • At the hearing of preliminary objections, the junta delegation stated for the second time that factual and political accusations by Gambia were not suitable for the stage of preliminary objection and that Myanmar would not respond to them as it was not the right time and the right place.
  • The junta ministry of commerce announced that they had been selling diesel fuel with special prices and that report could be made upon not being able to buy it with such fixed prices.
  • According to the military junta, there was a virtual meeting among the government, employers and workers to solve difficulties faced by employers and workers at factories and workshops due to the increase in COVID-19 infection again.

Summary on 26 February

  • In Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been openly committing war crimes by setting fire to villages, killing local people and robbing the public’s belongings. They would have to face the consequences of their action at the time of the public judiciary system.
  • The junta investigation is as cruel as the fascist interrogation camps. Reportedly, they have been carrying out sexual violence against human dignity. There must be a collective effort to take action against them.
  • The armed revolution has been in great momentum all over the country. Despite arrests in some places, there are still protests and revolutionary activities.
