The Military Council

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that arrangements were being made to reopen schools and students aged 12 and above would get the COVID-19 vaccination.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the 4th coordination meeting of the national committee on child labor in Myanmar was held via video conferencing at the hall of the junta Ministry of Labour in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
  • With RTD test kit, the military junta provided the COVID-19 test to residents of the IDP camps in Sittway Township of Rakhine State and fishermen from villages.
  • The junta Central Committee on COVID-19 Prevention, Treatment and Control announced that all basic education schools would keep closed from the 27th September to 24th October, including Thadingyut holidays.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they did not want undemocratic rule for the public with weapons creating a sense of fear. Therefore, the military did not carry out direct administration. There was just civil administration in respective sectors.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Ambassador to the UN, gave a talk at the annual ministerial meeting on Responsibility to Protect on 20th September, with the theme- “Responsibility to Protect and the role of women/girls in Atrocity Prevention”.
  • U Kyaw Moe Tun urged international community and the UN Security Council to help stop the terrible tradition of the Myanmar Army being free from legal action.
  • Dr. Sasa, Minister of International Cooperations-NUG, said that through economic and political isolation, the international community should cut cash flow of the military council conducting violence against the public and human rights violations. They should also stop weapon sales and international support to the organizations under the junta. Instead, they should empower CSOs and provide emergency assistance via mechanisms bringing true benefits to the public.

Revolution Activities

  •  In memory of the 14th anniversary of The Saffron Revolution, a combined rally of Monywa-Amyint road-side villages and students from Monywa General Strike marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • On Saturday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Shwebo Township, there was a march for the NUG and against the military dictatorship in a village on Saturday morning.
  • In Latbadaung area of Salingyi Township, two villages conducted a night strike of banging pots and pans to drive away the military watchdog on Friday.
  • In Butalin Township, a rally led by monks expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • As 14th anniversary of the Saffron Revolution, Kalay General Strike conducted a protest against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • On Friday afternoon, the junta army arrested 3 people, including Dr. Zaw Trwe Aung a Kachin ethnic doctor providing medical care to the IDPs in Sagaing Region.
  • According to a local anti-junta group, a MyTel telecom tower was blown up in the west of Wetlet Township at about 1:00 am Saturday.
  • According to a responsible person of Pale PDF, they burned the second largest police station in their township.
  • In Yangon, Sanchaung General Strike led a march against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • On Saturday morning, a rally of Yangon women marched against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • According to local residents, five bombs exploded one after another near Insein Prison, starting from 7:35 am Saturday.
  • On Saturday morning, youth conducted an anti-junta movement, distributing brochures and hanging vinyls calling for public’s participation in the fight against the military dictatorship on the roads in Mingaladone and South Okkalapa townships.
  • At about 1:30 am Saturday, the junta army shot three young people dead on the road at the foot of Myenigone bridge.
  • In Dawbone Township, a nephew of the administrator was shot dead. After the incident, the alleged culprit denied that he had not committed the crime.
  • On Friday afternoon, Ko Soe Thura Kyaw, former chair of Yangon Education University Students’ Union, was arrested while he was travelling.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, a rally of basic education students protested against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • On Saturday morning, there were two bomb explosions at Shwe Kyin tollbooth at the entrance to Mandalay. According to local residents, some junta soldiers and civilians were injured.
  • In Seinban Ward of Mandalay, Ko Ye Ko was arrested and shot dead, with the excuse that he had run away before his release. Reportedly, his body was brought back to his house on Saturday.
  • In memory of 14th anniversary of Saffron Revolution, a powerful rally marched up to 73 road in Mandalay and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • On Friday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • On Saturday, Mandalay District Students’ Union expressed their desire against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Longlone Township, youth and students marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Gantgaw Township, women had an argument in the factory of protective equipment. According to a local resident, a girl aged 12 died from knife wounds.
  • In Matupi Township, the junta armed forces arrested a priest in Ngalaing village on Thursday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Dimawso Township of Kayar State, there was a heavy fighting between a large number of the junta armed forces and a combined force of Dimawso PDF+KNDF+KA near Konetha and Tesule villages on Saturday morning.
  • In Pha-Kant Township of Kachin State, 100 junta soldiers was attacked with mines by the KIA at about 7:00 am Saturday. Reportedly, there were exchanges of fire.

Summary on 25th September

  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing has been talking absolute nonsense every day, such as failed projects and impossible missions.
  • As for local PDFs, they gained great momentum in revolution activities, especially in Sagaing. On the other hand, the PDFs in Chin and Kayar reached the position of armed forces.
  • In Yangon, there were guerrilla protests as well as guerrilla attacks. As for Mandalay and Dawei, they still had public protests against the military dictatorship every day without fail.
