The National Unity Government (NUG)

· U Yi Mon, Minister of Defence-NUG, posted on social media that in the battle to take control of Aunggya Camp in Moemauk Township of Kachin State, they managed to confiscate enough weapons to equip a regiment of PDF.

· Acting President of the NUG stated that it was vital to be able to promote military and political cooperation between the NUG and ethnic alliance.

· In the statement to the European Union and the allies in Europe, National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), NUG, Ethnic Revolution Organizations (EROs) and Spring Revolution Forces claimed that they would implement federal alliance based on democracy and unity, and they would extend the areas under their control.

· The NUG sent a statement to the 63rd anniversary of the founding of Kachin Independence Organization (KIO), which fell on Wednesday.

· At 10:00 am Tuesday, there was a meeting (42/2023) between People’s Police Force under Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration-NUG and People’s Security Forces from Sagaing Region and Magwe Region.

· On 28 October, a Town Hall meeting will be conducted in Toronto of Canada, and responsible personnel of the NUG will be present there.

· Karenni State Committee on Writing up the interim Constitution was set up.

Revolution Activities

· In the southern part of Kantbalu Township in Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been invading the area. Reportedly, about 4,000 local people have had to run away amidst rain since 21 October.

· In Taze, more than 20 junta soldiers including some officers had died in a local battle. After that, a combined force of the junta army and Pyusawti Militia has invaded the area again. Consequently, local residents have had to run away.

· In Shwebo Township, a junta troop had confiscated the weapons of a local PDF in Kunseip Village. Reportedly, they faced attacks by other local PDFs.

· Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) stated that the junta army has committed crimes including ill-treatment to the opposition openly and widely in Myanmar after the military coup.

· Chin Human Rights Organization announced that they had made an application to sue 10 junta members including Min Aung Hlaing under the charge of war crimes in the Philippines, one of the ASEAN member states.

· In Myeik of Tanintharyi Region, the junta police have been arresting those who go out late at night and demanding money from them.

· In Yebyu Township, local PDF attacked the junta army invading local villages twice within a day.

· Tom Andrews, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, called on the members of the United Nations to take more collective and coordinated action to weaken the military junta at the time of growing human rights violations and humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.

· In Sintku Township of Mandalay Region, two junta-appointed administrators were killed within a week.

· In Pauk of Magwe Region, there was an attack on the junta soldiers and Pyusawti members staying in Aungchanthar Ward. Reportedly, a gun and bullets were confiscated.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· On 22 October, the Commander in Chief of Kachin Independence Army (KIA) called on the revolution forces to join hands in the fight till the end of the military dictatorship.

· According to Mutraw News, the junta soldiers have been taking away public’s belongings in the area under Karen National Union Brigade (5).

· The Vice-Chair of the KIO had gone to the frontline battlefield of Aunggya Camp, captured by the KIA. Reportedly, Kachin people and revolution forces supported it.

· N'Ban La, the Chair of the KIO, stated that the nation was leading to a failed state due to the military junta, and the whole country had been in hardship. He added that they would join hands with all revolution forces in the fight against the military dictatorship.

· In Mindat of Chin State, there was a battle in town between local CDF and the junta army on Tuesday night.

The Military Council

· According to People’s Goal, General Ko Ko Maung, former Commander in Chief of Northern Military Region based in Myitkyina of Kachin State, was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the martial court.

· In some wards of Yangon, the junta administrators set up so-called People’s Security Forces with bad guys.

· The NUG stated that the military junta had been deeply involved in border-based online fraud. Shan Human Rights Foundation (SHRF) also released a statement on the relations between the military junta and telecom fraud.

· In the Gems Emporium, 4,045 lots of jade have been on sale via open tender. On Tuesday, 702 out of 750 lots were sold to local and international traders.

Summary on 26 October

· With strong alliance, the NUG and the EROs have been implementing the fight. The Minister of Defence-NUG stated that it was the preliminary strategic attack. Consequently, there might be many more heavy battles to take control of the junta army camps.

· The United Nations stated that the military junta had been openly and widely committing crimes including oppression of the opposition after the coup. In addition, Chin Human Rights Organizations took the junta members to court in the Philippines. Subsequently, the military dictators might have to face more hardships from the international community.
