Yangon Region

  • According to Anti-Fascism Force, they, in cooperation with the alliance of anti-junta forces, made over 30 guerrilla attacks from 27th March to 18th June. Due to those attacks, at least 22 members of the junta died and more than 25 members were injured. Their explosions included an attack of a military truck at Thida road bus stop in Tamwe Township on 18th June and the explosions at the home affairs office and the general administration office in Yankin Township.
  • At about 8:00 pm Thursday, there was an explosion at BEHS (10) in Ward (1) of Hlaingthaya Township. Reportedly, the roof near the school entrance was damaged.
  • In Bahan Township, young people and students from Sanchaung and Kyimyindine townships made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship.
  • At about 7:45 am and 8:18 am Friday, there were two explosions at a garbage bin near the junta immigration office in Hlaing Township. After the first explosion, the junta armed forces made inspections at Hlaing Aye Yait Mon (3) street. During that time, the second explosion happened.
  • The youth from Hlaing Township, where the junta armed forces have been tightening security, made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship, holding signs with words of strong determination.
  • Vocalist Diyamo or U Maung Maung Zaw Htet, vice-rector of Mandalay University of National Culture and Arts, has made an official resignation.
  • After the military coup, Yangon General Hospital could not operate as the staff members had joined the CDM. The junta health department said that starting from Friday, they would accept patients 24/7 and give medical treatment at the hospital.
  • At about 4:00 pm Friday, the junta police and plain clothes people inspected the passers-by of the overhead bridge on Pyi road near Maha Myaing bus-stop in Sanchaung Township. As a security measure, there was a police car near Hanthawady bus-stop.

Mandalay Region

  • At about 5:00 am, Kyaw Kyaw Min, a junta informer and USDP member, was shot in front of his house near (115) and (59) streets (A) in Chanmya Thazi Township of Mandalay. He was injured in his arm and hip. At about 7:00 am, a large number of the junta armed forces blocked off the neighbourhood and made inspections.
  • With a large number of people, the rally of Aung Pinle took to the streets in the city and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • Rally of Aungmye Thazan Schools take to the streets every day without fail and express their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • The rally of Mandala University Students expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship, holding sign boards and calling for the participation of others.
  • Man Lay Pyinyat Monks’ Union take to the streets every day and peacefully express their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • Amidst the patrols of the junta armed forces, a rally of Chanmya Thazi took to the streets against the military dictatorship.
  • In the evening, the junta armed forces made a crackdown on a rally of Mandalay Variety Forces before it started at 38 street (between 83 and 84 streets). About five female students from the rally were arrested.
  • After the fighting in Mandalay, the junta armed forces have been conducting patrols with ordinary cars. In some wards, they use plain clothers people who are familiar with the streets and patrol with motorbikes, according to a local resident of East Palace. Moreover, the junta staff members in various outfits enter and leave the ward administration offices.
  • In Myingyan Township, the junta armed forces and some civilian-like people beat and arrested two fishermen working at the Ayeyarwady river bank in the south of Ywahaunggone in Layeindan village group at about 1:00 am. They demanded 15 lakhs from each person. Those two men have been sleeping in their boat at night for work. Reportedly, 5 lakhs had to be given from each of them to be released.
  • Myingyan Public Movement Committee announced that a CDM staff member of the railway service had been arrested the previous night together with his phone. Therefore, the people need to be careful if they are contacted with that phone number.
  • Myingyan ZERO Guerrilla Force announced that they had made an attack with a grenade at the house of Daw Thida Yu Mon, a member of Pyusawhtee group, in Ward (19) of Myingyan on Friday morning. Reportedly, there was no injury due to the explosion.
  • In Pyin Oo Lwin, where there are many military universities, the local residents made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship.

Bago Region

  • In Madaught area of Nyaunglebin Township, Than New Aung, a Pyigodaw villager and informer to the junta had reported that there was an armed group near Hto Pho village. In the evening of 21st June, he and another two men brought the junta armed forces. But they couldn’t find the armed group. While those three men were making further searches, they were arrested by the armed group. Reportedly, Than New Aung was killed and the other two men were released as they were forced to come along with him.
  • In Badigone of Thegone Township, the junta armed forces arrested some young men aged 20; Ko Kyaw Tayza Oo, Ko Kaung Htet Kyaw and another one yet to be identified, for sharing a social media post of Thegone PDF. They have been under investigation at Badigone police station.
  • At Penwegone local police station in Kyauk Daga Township, a policeman named Thiha Zaw announced that he had joined the CDM and refused to work under the junta. Another two policemen and a policewoman have resigned for the reason that they no longer want to work.

Ayeyarwady Region

  • At about 6:00 pm Thursday, two men on a motorbike threw a grenade into the compound of the district police office on Trader road in Pathein, where there used to be tight security. Reportedly, it did not explode.
  • At about 9:30 pm Thursday, a rebellion took place in the detention centre at Laputta police station. The junta armed forces brought it under control by firing live ammunition.
  • In the early morning on Friday, an unexploded hand-made bomb was found near Padamya Ward administration office in Hinthada Township. The junta armed forces came and removed it.

Sagaing Region

  • On the night of 17th June, two people on a motorbike shot at U Khin Maung Oo, awarded by the military-backed USDP for excellent performance, in front of his house in Ward (3) of Kantbalu. He was injured in the incident. He has been receiving medical treatment for his injuries in Mandalay.
  • In Sagaing Region, 9 people including U Kyaw Thaung, NLD MP of National Parliament for No. (6) Constituency, and a monk named Ashin Gandama were unjustly sentenced to two years in prison with hard labout, under the law of natural disaster management, at the junta court.
  • At about noon Thursday, there was a bomb explosion at Aung Thuka oil shop owned by Ko Yu Naing, regarded as a pro-military person, in Kanbya Ward of Dipeyin Township. Although no injury was reported, the furniture and some equipment were damaged.
  • On Thursday night, the junta armed forces shot at 19-year-old Mai Nuam Za Thiang, a motorbiker on his way to Kalay from Zawngkong village of Phalan Township, near Kalay industrial zone. The young man was injured in his thigh. He was arrested by the junta armed forces and died in the morning, according to the confirmation of a Kalay resident. Besides this, a 24-year-old man named Salai Vum Za Lian was shot dead by the junta armed forces near Sutaung Park in Taungphila Ward of Kalay.
  • In Kalay, the young residents expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, holding sign boards with words of encouragement for the whole country.
  • In Minkin Township, there was a battle between local PDFs and the junta armed forces at Thanpauk and Samyingyi villages the previous day. Reportedly, a PDF member died and the other three were injured. As for the junta armed forces, they lost 15 soldiers. Due to the fighting, more than 5000 local residents have had to run away.
  • In Shwe Oya village of Wetlet Township, the junta soldiers and plain clothes armed people arrived there with three military trucks and fired ammunitions from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. So, the villagers had to run away. While they were away, the junta armed forces took away valuable jewelry, motorbikes and clothes. That village is the native village of Dr. Tayza San, a leader of Mandalay public protests. On 23rd June, the junta armed forces had raided the village and stolen 15 motorbikes, diesel and other valuable things. They had also opened fire and a local resident had been injured.
  • On Friday morning, the junta armed forces raided Bantbwe village and the neighbouring area between Yinmabin District and Kani Township and took away valuable possessions from the people’s houses. The local residents have had to run away.
  • At about 9:00 am, three military cars carrying the junta soldiers were attacked with mines on Nagama mountain in Pale Township. According to Yinmabin PDF, some junta soldiers died in the attack.
  • A rally comprising various villages from Butalin Township went round the villages and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • A rally of Tantsi youth went to the villages in the township on their motorbikes and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • In Salingyi Township, a rally of Latbadaung Taung General Strike went round the villages and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Monywa Township, the locals made a “humanless strike” against the military dictatorship, hanging sheets of paper with anti-junta words in a betel plantation. Monywa Amyint roadside community went round the villages and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • In Nanyun of Narga self-administered region, the education staff members who have joined the CDM made an online protest against the military dictatorship, with the theme - “Let’s join the CDM to make the future of education beautiful”.

Magwe Region

  • The junta armed forces arrested three local residents of the villages in Pwintphyu Township on Thursday night and Friday morning. At about 10:00 pm Thursday, U Soe Shwe and U Han Thein were arrested due to a report of informers that claimed they had been making weapons. At about 2:00 am, Ko Zaw Moe Aung from Phyaught Seikgone village was arrested.
  • In U-Yinkyit village of Pwintphyu Township, the junta armed forces arrested Ko Zaw Min Htet, a former soldier, and his uncle U Pho Kyaw at about 2:00 am Friday, with the excuse that they had been making weapons.
  • Myaing Township Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the general public from the north east zone, expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.

Taninthayi Region

  • As the military junta has limited the withdrawal through the central bank, the construction companies in Taninthayi Region, which won tenders, have made their employees redundant. Thousands of construction workers have lost their jobs. The businesses could withdraw 200 lakhs per week in the past. But now, they are allowed to withdraw only 50 lakhs.
  • In lower Yebyu village of Longlone Township, the education family and the general public made a protest against the military dictatorship at dawn. The youth from Longlone Township Basic Education Students’ Union made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship. Sitpyel, Nyinmaw and Maungmagan villages in Longlone Township conducted protests against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yebyu village of Longlone Township at about 8:30 am, 30 members of the junta armed forces raided the Youth Development Institute - YDI Youth Center and arrested two local young people. At that time, a health-related training was being conducted at the centre. Reportedly, two passers-by were arrested, not the trainees. The junta armed forces made thorough searches until noon and took away more than 30 motorbikes at the centre.

Kachin State

  • After the attack of KIA at the junta check-point near Myitgyina-Winemaw Ayeyarwady river bridge, a large number of the junta armed forces surrounded Batlin and Zeelun IDP camps in Myitgyina and checked the population there as well as their names.
  • At about 10:00 pm Thursday, guns were fired at Sintat, Yele and Moesit villages of Shweku Township. It is unknown which group carried this out.
  • KIA Regiment (11) announced on Friday that the people, trucks, oil boxer vans and other business vehicles are not to travel from Myitgyina to Tanai, Putao, Pha-Kant and Sagaing between 7:00 pm and 5:00 am. They are not to transport weapons, rations, oil and soldiers for the military junta. Unless necessary, they are not to cover their vehicles with rain-proof sheets.

Kayar State

  • There was a ceremony on completion of the warfare training of KNPP (70) Batch on Friday.
  • In Phekone Township, Kwitaloat village is under the influence of KNLP/KNLA. 300 junta soldiers who have been stationing in that village have left for the mainland. So, PKPF urged the public to stay at home and not to make unnecessary shooting happen. The junta armed forces also guaranteed that they would not threaten the locals or take their property, to avoid unnecessary problems.

Kayin State

  • There were COVID-19 positive cases at the high school in Laykaykaw Myothit in Myawady Township. Therefore, the school had to be temporarily close.
  • Although there are just a few students at the junta schools, thousands of students attend the schools under the oversight of Kayin Education and Culture Department in the areas under the influence of KNU.
  • After the fighting in Melan village of Pha Ang Township on 21st June, the junta armed forces stole property worth 30 lakhs from a shop in the village, according to the KNU.
  • Ramon, the singer who had been issued warrant for joining the anti-junta movement, passed away. His funeral was conducted in a free area. A lot of local residents attended it.
  • After the telecom towers of military-owned Mytel were set on fire in some villages of Dupalaya District under the influence of KNU, Mytel and Ooredoo mobile services were not available.

Chin State

  • Chinland Defense Force – Thantlang requested the car owners in town to inform them about the incoming and outgoing status of their cars. They also requested the public not to go out after 9:00 pm and not to disturb other people by drinking alcohol in groups in the surburbs of the town. They will take action against those who don’t follow the rules.
  • In Shet village of Mindat, a 13-year-old Grade (6) student died on his way to a farm due to the explosion of a mine set by the junta armed forces.
  • According to Mindat Township IDPs Management Committee, about 80% out of over 20,000 IDPs have returned home as there is a temporary ceasefire between Mindat CDF and the junta armed forces through the negotiation of the community leaders.
  • At about 10:30 pm Thursday, U Tint Wai, the junta second township administrator of Haka, had a car accident while driving along the city road in Pyidawtha Ward. He was injured in the incident and died at the hospital on Friday morning.
  • In Phalan, the religious leaders have made a lockdown in town because of the high rate of COVID-19 transmitted cases. The junta soldiers from the town-based army and those stationing at the township sports hall tested COVID-19 positive.

Mon State

  • At about 8:00 pm Thursday, a 49-year-old man was shot near Hangan village in Yay Township. He died on the way to hospital. It is still unknown which group carried out the shooting.
  • At about 9:00 am Friday, there was an explosion of a hand-made mine near the administration office and the officers’ compound in Theinzayat Township. Theinzayat PDF announced that they had done it to warn the junta administration personnel who would attend a meeting at the administration office. After the explosion, the junta armed forces arrested some innocent passers-by. So, the PDF called for their release.
  • The youth in Paung Township made a protest against the military dictatorship, holding sign boards with words of strong determination.
  • Young residents of Kyaik Hto expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship, chanting that there is nothing else except armed revolution.

Shan State

  • The junta armed forces arrested 16 young people who had been eating at Ma Thet restaurant on Kyauk Talone road in Kangyi Ward of Taunggyi in the evening the previous day. The reason for their arrest is still unknown.
  • TNLA has been distributing the list of the military products and they have been giving warnings not to buy and sell those products in their operating areas.

Rakhine State

  • About 80 unexploded mortars were found near Nga Zan Hla village of Yathay Taung Township.
  • All across Rakhine State, there are more than 90 people who tested COVID-19 positive, including those who have already got the vaccine. Consequently, some schools have to be temporarily closed.

Nay Pyi Taw

  • According to AAPP, 880 innocent people died because of the ruthless killing of the junta armed forces. There were up to 40 people who had been sentenced to the death penalty. Among the dead people, there were 72 children under the age of 18 and at the age of 18. 11 out of them died due to being shot in the head. The youngest one was a one-year old baby.
  • According to Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson of the UN Secretariat, there are 230,000 IDPs in Myanmar because of the military conflicts.
  • The junta central bank has been selling dollars at competitive prices. They sold 6 million dollars on Thursday and 3 million dollars on Friday respectively.
  • The NUG government held a press conference on Friday evening.

Summary on 25th June

  • In Yangon, there were still guerrilla protests on the streets as well as explosions. The military junta has been tightening security in almost every township, especially in the townships where there were protests and frequent explosions.
  • In Mandalay, there were still public’s protests. The junta armed forces made a crackdown on the rally of variety forces even before it started. 5 people were arrested. Although there is no shooting or explosions, the junta armed forces have been conducting patrols with ordinary cars. They also use those who are familiar with the streets and make motorbike patrols. There are people entering and leaving the junta administration offices in various ways.
  • In Kani area of Sagaing Region, there were battles between local PDFs and the junta armed forces almost every day. The junta armed forces continue to raid the villages with a large number of soldiers, arresting the locals and taking away valuable property.
  • The military junta has faced pressure due to the UN’s decision against weapon procurement. The military leader recently visited Russia and discussed weapon acquisition while the US government has put sanctions against.
  • Reportedly, the military junta has serious hardships with local money. They sold up to 9 million dollars within two days through the central bank.
  • The military junta has special concerns about security as there are still powerful protests throughout the country and constant armed revolutions. They have been doing frequent mobilization of troops.
