Summary on 24th December

The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing has been planning for an election in August of 2023. Without any plan to discuss with NUG and CRPH, he would hold it even with the exclusion of political parties which did not meet with him.

On the other hand, the junta armed forces conducted attacks with military jets on revolutionary forces with Tumi guns in the upcountry area. As they also targeted civilians in their attacks, local residents had to run away and some people lost their lives. In Laykaykaw of Kayin State, they carried out air strikes on the IDP camps in the night time and thus, thousands of people had to run to the neighbouring country, Thailand. For such war crimes, the junta leader and other military personnel must be held accountable.
