The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced on Wednesday that they had blacklisted and dismissed (212) staff members from Myanmar’s Foreign Trade Bank who were serving the military junta.
  • At the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference in Bali, Indonesia on Tuesday, the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) made a presentation about the difficulties faced by Myanmar MPs, unfair arrests, unlawful threats and the current situation of the country.
  • The CRPH announced that a discussion titled ‘Jailed For Being Elected’ discussing the plight of Myanmar MPs being detained in Myanmar, was held in Bali, Indonesia on Tuesday.

Revolution Activities

  • In Minkin Township in Sagaing Region, a combined force of local PDFs attacked the junta army in Taungdwinchaung Village on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, about 10 junta soldiers might have died.
  • In Monywa Township, a combined force of PDFs attacked the junta army at Ma-U Gate demanding money from travelers on the Monywa-Mandalay Road on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, there might be some casualties among junta soldiers.
  • In Monywa, a local PDF apologized for their mistake in accidentally blowing up a civilian’s car on Tuesday night while waiting to attack a military car.
  • In Pale Township, a local PDF conducted a guerrilla attack on a military convoy on returning from training Pyu Saw Htee members.
  • In Salingyi Township, Unity Force Monywa – UFM and the Brother Defense Force – BDF attacked a convoy of 17 military trucks on Wednesday morning.
  • The Salingyi Township the PDF stated that people prepared to assassinate junta informers, soldiers and police were to identify themselves to village PDFs.
  • In Dibeyin Township, a combined force of local PDFs attacked a troop of 80 junta soldiers entering Marakan Village on Tuesday. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and about 20 others were seriously injured.
  • On the 409th day of protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army raided Seetan Tawgyi Village on Tuesday, firing mortars. Reportedly, they set fire to eight houses and took away people’s belongings.
  • On Tuesday night, Kalay people conducted a strike against the military dictatorship. They also prayed for the 1,697 people who had lost lives throughout the country, the PDFs and the Urban Guerrillas.
  • In North Dagon Township in Yangon Region, the junta armed forces beat and arrested six family members in Ward (33) on Wednesday.
  • Hmawbi Township PDF warned Dr. Khin Khin Gyi that her life and property could not be guaranteed if she does not stop her oppression of CDM healthcare staff.
  • In Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region, the junta army killed Ko San So Naing, a Sinchaung villager, on 18 March.
  • In Fruso Zone in Karenni State under the control of KNDF Brigade (15), the KNDF made a statement warning that local shops were not to sell junta army products and to only take a 10% profit on any other goods they sold because people are suffering hardships.
  • In Myohla Township in Kachin State, a local PDF carried out a mine attack against junta army soldiers, near Chaungwa Village. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died and no less than five others were injured.
  • In Hpakant, where there has been an internet blackout for over seven months, local people protested against the military dictatorship on Wednesday. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • In Longlone Township in Tanintharyi Region, a rally led by women conducted a rosy movement against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • In Pulaw Township, there were exchanges of fire between PDF members and Pyu Saw Htee members on Wednesday.
  • In Longshay Township in Magwe Region, a local PDF followed and attacked 50 junta soldiers going to Saw on 20 and 21 March.
  • In Maubin Township in Ayeyarwaddy Region, a local PDF warned junta-appointed administrators and members of ward administrations to resign as soon as possible and the junta armed forces not to ill-treat the public anymore.
  • On Wednesday, Ko Ye Yint Tun, a journalist with Myanmar Messenger Media, was sentenced to two years in prison under Section (505 A and B).
  • In Maubin Township, Ko Sai Nay Myo Thant was charged with Section (505-A) for posting a video of rain and wind due to a storm on 20 March.
  • OCHA announced that conflicts became more serious in southeast and northwest Myanmar and that there are now nearly 900,000 IDPs.
  • According to LGBT Alliance – Myanmar, a petition signed by over 200,000 people protesting oppressions, human rights violations and sexual violence against those detained in prison after the military coup was handed to the International Red Cross Society (ICRC).
  • A PDF member decorated his shoes with stars he had collected from the shoulders of the junta army captains in frontline battles. He started the bidding at $500 USD and the highest bid was $18,500 USD.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Thatone Township under the control of KNU Brigade (1), a combined force of the KNLA and a local PDF attacked two junta army camps with 40mm grenades on Monday night.
  • On Wednesday morning, a convoy of 80 military trucks, including two armoured vehicles, left for Mindat in Chin State via Kyauktu in Magway Region.
  • CDF Mindat announced that the public were not to use the Mindat-Matupi Road starting from 19 March and they would not take responsibility for the consequences if people did.
  • The RCSS/SSA said that there was no evidence for the accusation that the RCSS/SSA murdered the Chair of Maikai Township Ta’ang National Party and his family.

The Military Council

  • On Wednesday, the junta foreign ministry expressed their objection to the U.S Foreign Minister’s statement saying that Myanmar Army had committed genocide.
  • The secretary of the military junta and the junta Minister of Religious Affairs attended the funeral of the Shwekyin religious leader on Tuesday.
  • Reportedly, the ASEAN Special Envoy returned to Cambodia on Wednesday.
  • The junta Minister of Electricity and Energy said that they were making an effort to repair 22 pylons as soon as possible so that they can supply 220 MWs from Lawpita Hydropower Plant.
  • According to the junta newspaper, there was a discussion between the junta Minister of International Cooperation and the regional presentative of the ICRC to Myanmar on Tuesday about providing humanitarian assistance.
  • The junta minister of immigration and population said that to implement E-ID, there would be two activities- collecting Unit-ID and conducting National ID.
  • According to the military junta in Yangon, U Aung Than Oo, the junta-appointed economics minister, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
  • On Tuesday morning, the junta armed forces arrested U Khin Shwe, Chair of Zaygabar Company, and his son for breaking the agreement in renting Myayaitnyo Hotel and the land owned by the military junta and destroying two ancient buildings on the land. Reportedly, they were sent to Insein Prison on the same night.
  • The military junta instructed police stations to take precautions as they might come under surprise attacks on the junta army day.
  • In Yangon Region, the military junta reduced the curfew from 12:00 am to 4:00 am.
  • In Mandalay, the military junta has been arranging to celebrate the water festival with long boats in the moat. Reportedly, they have started to set up the mayor’s pandal (stage).
  • The NUG announced their condemnation of the military junta for their lawless verdict of three years imprisonment handed to U Thein Than Soe, a clerk from Myingyan District Court.
  • On Tuesday, the pro-military YMBA announced their objection to the statement of the U.S government that the junta army had committed genocide.

  • In Sagaing Region, the area with the most revolutionary activities, the junta armed forces face great losses due to attacks by local PDFs.
  • On Wednesday, the three-day trip of the ASEAN Special Envoy to Myanmar came to an end. However, it ended up having no benefit for the Myanmar people.
