Yangon Region

  • At about 6:45 am Wednesday, U Kyaw Aye, owner of Aryone Oo tea-shop who was regarded as an informer to the military junta, was shot dead in Thiri Myaing (10) street in Ward (13) of Hlaing Township. His dead body was taken away by junta armed forces.
  • At about 9:30 am Wednesday, young residents of Yangon expressed their objection to the military dictatorship in South Okkalapa Township, chanting words of encouragement for Mandalay.
  • Ramond, singer of Idiots Band, died of cerebral malaria Wednesday morning. He had been charged with Section (505-a) for joining the anti-junta movement and he had fled to a free area. He passed away during his stay there.
  • At about 4:00 pm, a junta soldier was put in charge of security for an unknown reason on the upper floor of Shwezin Ngwezin jewelry shop and wedding hall near Mikwat market in Hlaingthaya Township.
  • Some young people made a protest burning tyres on Baho road in Weluwun Ward of Sanchaung Township. The junta police and soldiers arrived there, blocked the streets and made investigations. They then arrested some young residents of the ward who had not joined the protest. After that, they reopened the streets. At 5:00 pm, they blocked Baho road and Weluwun broadway again and tightened security. After the protests with burning tyres, a large number of armed forces members tightened security in Sanchaung Township and Myenigone by sitting patrols and mobile patrols.
  • In the case of actor Ye Dight who has been in detention at Insein prison with the charge of Section (505-a), second police officer in chief Aye Lwin, the prosecutor, has submitted a CD containing a video file for evidence. As the video file was not original, it was objected to for not complying with the law of evidence submission. However, it was accepted by the junta court with the excuse that it would allow them to carry out fair trial.
  • The GZ rally of Thingangyun Township took to the streets in the afternoon and made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship.

Mandalay Region

  • In Pyin Oo Lwin, the junta armed forces arrested residents of Ward (21); Ma Thin Thin Tun, Ko Win Ko and Ko Arkar Min Kant at their houses at about 1:00 pm Tuesday. According to informers, these people had participated in the anti-junta movement. Ma Thin Thin Tun is in detention at Pyin Oo Lwin police station. It is still unknown where the other two men are being detained.
  • Due to the shooting at Minnegone police station in Nganzun Township, no less than two junta policemen died and others were injured. According to Myingyan ZERO guerrilla force, there was no injury on their side as they managed to retreat successfully.
  • At about 3:30 pm Tuesday, an unknown motorbiker shot at the police in charge of security at Mandalay regional police office in Chan Aye Thazan Township. He also threw a grenade at them. A policeman died and the other three were injured in the incident.
  • In Myingyan on Wednesday morning, Myingyan Technology University Students Union (Ba-Ka-Tha) and the local residents expressed their desire for the emergence of Federal Democratic Constitution and for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • Regarding the case in which a unit of Mandalay PDF had been attacked by armed forces, a man named U Nay Ni Aung was said to be an informer to the junta. At about 5:00 pm Tuesday, a bomb was thrown into his house at No. (1) new town area in Myingyan. No injury was reported due to the explosion.
  • In a joint-statement, Yangon, Magwe and Bago PDFs announced that they would take revenge on the military junta for the loss of Mandalay PDF members in the fighting on Tuesday.
  • According to the military junta, people in a Pajero car had attacked the armed forces in Mandalay, run into a transformer and died in the chase to arrest them. Actually, those people were not PDF members. They were Ta-ang ethnic men Naing Tun Kyi and Naing Lai, Chit Swe and a Chinese young man named Arti. On their way to a chicken farm, they were shot at by the junta armed forces for no apparent reason. As they drove away in fear, they ran into a transformer. Actually, just the front part of their car was damaged in the accident. Reportedly, they all died because the armed forces threw a grenade at their car. The military junta told lies that they were terrorists who had attacked the security forces. Among the four dead people, Chit Swe was a model.
  • During the fighting between Mandalay PDF and the junta armed forces, there were three deaths in the military side; administration officer Aung Kyaw Myo, graduate of Batch (41) from Defence Service Academy and the other two officers. They were shot on their way into the building where there had been PDF members. They died on their way to the hospital in the palace compound.
  • Amidst very tight security by the junta armed forces in Mandalay, a rally of Chanmya Thazi expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, holding the sign boards- “Chan-Zi in unity”.
  • Amidst tight security, a rally of Mandalay Pyinyat Monks Union went round the town and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • Raising the sign boards “arrest today, revolution tomorrow”, the rally of Aung Pinle protested against the military dictatorship.
  • From 12:00 pm to 5:00 am Wednesday, there was some live fire in Manawhari where the firing had taken place the previous day. It was just a threatening act by the junta armed forces, according to a local residence of Southern Manawhari at 4:00 pm. Moreover, as the armed forces took positions in secret in Manawhari, the local people warned each other not to go there.
  • There have been check-points set up on roads into Mandalay. There used to be normal inspections, but today there were tight security by checking all the passing vehicles. Inside the city, the junta police and soldiers made patrols even in the streets where they had never entered before, according to the confirmation of a local resident of East Palace at 4:00 pm. Moreover, the junta armed forces used to take security measures in front of the police stations and administration offices. But today, they have been behind barricades.
  • At about 11:00 am, there was a sound bomb explosion near Myoma school on Ahtet Santan street in Ward (12) of Myingyan. Moreover, there were similar explosions near BEHS (2) and Chaungdaung crossroad at 12:00 pm. The junta armed forces arrived there and opened fire.

Bago Region

  • With 11 common agreements among Bago, Theinzayat and Mawlamyaing PDFs, an alliance of variety forces was established. They announced that they would carry out clearing activities of informers for the military junta.
  • Bago PDF announced on Wednesday morning that they had exploded a bomb at the police station at the entrance to Nyaunglebin at 8:30 pm Tuesday. 7 junta policemen died in the explosion.
  • At about 8:00 am, there was an explosion at the COVID-19 test booth in front of Thidagu eye-specialized hospital on the entrance to Thegone in Pyi District. Due to the explosion, a staff member of the junta General Administration was injured.
  • At about 8:30 am Wednesday, the junta armed forces arrested residents of Myothit (B) Ward in Bago; Ko Phapu, Daw Than Mu and Daw Tin Pu, with the ages between 40 and 50 living under the same roof. An informer to the military junta reported that they had joined the peaceful protests just after the military coup.
  • The youth in Pyi made a protest, holding posters against taxation and against the military dictatorship.

Ayeyarwady Region

  • Young residents of Ingapu Township made an indoors strike against the military dictatorship, holding posters with best wishes for Mandalay.
  • After the bomb explosion at Pathein Hotel owned by Htoo Company - a close contact of the military, on the night of 20th June a young man from the neighbourhood was arrested. Then, 6 more young people were arrested.

Sagaing Region

  • The junta armed forces arrested a family of five in 1st street of Ayethaya Ward in Monywa, with the excuse of them supporting a People’s Defence Force - PDF. The family included a retired teacher named U Tin Myint Soe, a 4-year old child and other three members. Reportedly, the child was released the following day.
  • On 22nd June, there was a fighting between local PDFs and the junta armed forces at Tayawgyin where Kani and Yinmabin townships join. Reportedly, two PDF members lost their lives and the another three were injured. As for the armed forces, they lost more than 20 junta soldiers. On Wednesday morning, a large number of junta soldiers came there with four military trucks and thus, the local residents had to run away.
  • In Zeedaw village of Shwebo Township, the junta armed forces raided the house of a local resident named U San Nyunt Oo. After finding the evidence him being an NLD member, they arrested him at about 4:30 pm Tuesday.
  • In Kalay, the two residents of Sakkant village, priest Ngon Nay Man and Ko Gyi The, were arrested Tuesday night for sharing the news related to Spring Revolution in their social media accounts and keeping such photos on their phones.
  • The junta armed forces arrested 8 young people from Pinlone Ward in Kalay on Wednesday morning. Enquiries are being made for the reason of that arrest.
  • Amidst the high rate of COVID-19 transmitted cases in Kalay, local people took to the streets and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship. In doing so, they took preventive measures against COVID-19.
  • At about 6:00 am Wednesday, three unexploded hand-made bombs were found near Shweminwun Ward in Sagaing, in front of the market and in the street beside the market. The junta armed forces arrived there and removed them.
  • A rally of young people from Tantsi Township went round the villages and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • A rally comprising the villages from Yinmabin East and Salingyi North expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Salingyi Township, a rally of Latbadaung General Strike expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.
  • Kani PDF arrested two people who had stolen wood from Alaungdaw Katthapa National Park on Wednesday morning, together with a Center 6-wheel truck carrying timber. As a warning, the timber was set on fire and those people were released with their truck.
  • Monywa General Strike held a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship, driving on Bogyoke road near the junta army (16).
  • At about 9:00 am Wednesday, the junta armed forces raided Shweouya village in Wetlet Township of Shwebo District, in which the house of Dr. Tayzar San, leader of Mandalay public protests, was located. Reportedly, a villager was hit with the bullet and died. Another two people were injured and five were arrested. The junta armed forces destroyed the house of Dr. Tayzar San.

Magwe Region

  • Myaing Township Basic Education Strike Committee, in cooperation with the general public from the northern zone, protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Gantgaw Township, Thalin villagers made a protest for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • Young residents of Natmauk held an indoor strike against the military dictatorship, writing “Save Myanmar” on the three-finger image, symbol of the Spring Revolution. Moreover, some youth expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship in the evening, holding sign boards - “Spring Revolution”.
  • In Gyaung Gonegyi village of Pwint Phyu Township, the junta-appointed village administrator told lies and reported to the junta that Ko Myo Aung, a seller of ice lollypops, had weapons. So, the junta armed forces arrived there and arrested him on Wednesday morning. It is still unknown where he has been detained.
  • The youth in Yenangyaung Township expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, raising the cloth signs in honour of the heroes who have lost their lives.

Taninthayi Region

  • In Longlone Township, the residents of Nyinmaw village made a rally against the military dictatorship, chanting that they would never be silent.
  • On 23rd March, 6 people had been arrested at a house near the engine wine factory on Paw-Oo lower road in Aye Yait Nyein Ward of Kawthaung. Among them, 5 people have been sentenced to 3 years in prison with the charge of Section (505-a). Reportedly, the last one under the age of 18 has been sent to a youth correctional training centre.
  • A rally of Dawei students took to the streets, chanting anti-junta slogans. They applied red paint on the three-finger image to show that the Spring Revolution has been stained with blood.
  • In Yebyu Township, Kanbauk residents held sign boards and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

Kachin State

  • The junta armed forces arrested 20 young residents of the wards in Bamaw Tuesday night, accusing them of being PDF members.
  • In Moemauk, there was a bomb explosion at BEHS (1) in Karnang Ward on Tuesday. Due to the explosion, 3 people, including a teacher, were injured. Reportedly after that, there were no students at the schools in town Wednesday morning.
  • In Pha-Kant Lonekhine village, Ko Zaw Win Maung, a freelance journalist, was arrested in a night protest on 25th May. In addition to Section (505-a), he has been charged under the import/export law as his motorbike didn’t have an official license.
  • In Pha-Kant Township, the rally comprising various ethnic people made a protest against the military dictatorship. The public from Pha-Kant Lonekhine village group expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • Amidst the tight security by the junta armed forces, Moenyin young people made a protest, chanting words of encouragement for Mandalay.
  • About 100 junta soldiers have been stationing at Nankyin village, an area intended for economic and development projects in Myitgyina. They have done this again after the attack of the KIA there in 2018.

Kayar State

  • In Kayar State, the junta armed forces have been strengthening their armies in Lwaikaw, in the east of Lwailinlay and in the east of Dimawso. According to the warning of the PKPF on Wednesday morning, shooting may happen any time with the KNPP.

Kayin State

  • In Myawady Township, unknown armed people in a black car shot at U Thahtay (50 years), the junta-appointed 100-household leader in Ward (2), while he was in front of his house. He died on the way to hospital.
  • In Hlaingbwe Township, the Border Guard Force - BGF under the influence of the military and the junta-appointed village administrators have been leading gambling games day and night.

Chin State

  • On 15th April, the junta armed forces arrested U Htan Hnin, a resident of Mindat, for carrying an air rifle. They released him on Tuesday evening.
  • Arthan Rifle Force arrested two people together with a lot of explosives in Farkawn village of India, which is just 16 miles away from CNF Headquarters. They also arrested 6 AA members with weapons in the border area recently.
  • Through the negotiations of community leaders in Mindat, a ceasefire has been made between Mindat Chinland Defence Force and the junta armed forces through 5 agreements.
  • Due to the high rate of COVID-19 transmitted cases in Rikawda on the Myanmar-India border, there have been preparations from Mizoram State of India to tighten security at the border entrances. The IDPs from Chin State have to use those entrances to flee to Mizoram.

Mon State

  • In Paung Township, the youth made a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship.

Shan State

  • Shan South PDF announced that they regarded the harsh activities of the military junta as a warfare challenge to the public and they would fight against the military dictatorship, in cooperation with other PDFs.
  • In Kyaingtone, a man was on his way back home with motorbike at about 9:00 pm on 19th June after his daughter had received medical treatment at a clinic. He was knocked over by a car of the junta police, soldiers and the township administrator. His daughter fell off the motorbike, injuring her head, and she died. The father was charged with murder by the military junta.
  • At about 1:00 pm Wednesday, 20 military trucks, full of rations and soldiers, headed towards Taunggyi from Hopone.

Nay Pyi Taw

  • The assistant director and other 76 officers from the planning department under the Ministry of Planning and Finance were dismissed for joining the CDM.
  • KLP, the biggest pension funding company of Norway, resigned from their investments in Myanmar; special economic zone project and Adani port. Adani port is a project to build a container port in Yangon, by renting land from a corporation owned by the military.
  • According to the AAPP, 875 people were killed, 5053 were unjustly arrested and 1950 were issued warrants from 1st February to 22nd June.
  • After the city war between Mandalay PDF and the junta armed forces in Mandalay, the NUG called for household-level disaster preparations.
  • In Nay Pyi Taw where the military junta has been taking office, the Nay Pyi Taw Students’ Union and young residents expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship, holding the cloth signs - “There must be war for peace”.
  • South East Asia Journalists’ Union called on the military junta to stop their threats and violence against Myanmar media and Myanmar journalists. They also announced that they stand with Myanmar journalists.

Summary on 23rd June

  • In Yangon, there were guerrilla protests as well as informer clearance activities. A large number of junta soldiers have been conducting patrols all across the city, especially in Sanchaung, Hlaing, Tamwe, Mingala Taung Nyunt and Hlaingthaya townships. Besides the counter attacks with weapons, there were knife attacks at the junta administration offices.
  • Amidst tight security in Mandalay after the fighting, the public continued to take to the streets. The junta armed forces have been doing secret-patrols and mobile-patrols. Security measures have been raised at city police stations and administration offices. Until this morning, some fire ammunitions were made in Manawhari.
  • After Mandalay PDF had been attacked, there were counter attacks by the PDFs at the junta offices and police stations in Myingyan and Bago. In those attacks, some members of the junta armed forces died and some were injured.
  • In Sagaing, Kani and Minkin townships, there have been fighting between local PDFs and the junta armed forces every other day. There were a lot of deaths among the junta armed forces. Therefore, they continue to raid the villages, shooting people dead, stealing, and setting houses on fire.
  • In other states and regions, there were still public protests. In some townships, even non-CDM staff members have joined the CDM.
  • The military junta is being faced with pressure due to the restriction on weapon procurement. They have been confronted with the loss because of the armed revolution in the country. Their armed forces have been attacked very often in the areas with ethnic armed organizations. So, some family members of the army have run away and the unity in their army is getting weak. The high rate of COVID-19 transmission in the third wave is one of the hardships for the military junta. They can do just lockdown in the transmitted areas, and close schools and markets there. They face difficulties in medical treatment due to insufficient staff members.
