The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • According to the Spring University Myanmar (SUM), they received a donation worth over 87 lakh MMK from their courses in January.
  • The NUG announced that 57 members of the junta armed forces had died and 14 others had been injured on Monday.
  • On Sunday, there was an online meeting between the team led by the NUG Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung and members of the NUG office that has opened in Norway.
  • As part of the Six Twos movement, a PDF from Southern Headquarters protested against the military dictatorship.

Revolution Activities

  • The European Union put economic sanctions on 4 companies and 22 people in relation to the military junta, including Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE), IGE Company, No. (1) Mining Enterprise and Htoo Group.
  • In Maymyo in Mandalay Region, local people conducted a Six Twos strike against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Mandalay, a combined rally of students’ unions and activists marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Six Twos strike, Mandalay monks expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • In Pyigyi Dagun Township, a local PDF set fire to the Ka Ward administration office on Tuesday morning.
  • In Meittila, protesters placed a banner ‘Reunion on Six Twos’ at the bridge on Tuesday morning.
  • On Tuesday morning, Mandalay protesters hung ‘Reunion on Six Twos’ banner at U Pain Bridge.
  • In Kani Township of Sagaing Region, Kyaw Gyi, a member of local PDF, lost his life in Myatheindan battle. On Tuesday, local people carried out his funeral and Six Twos strike against the military dictatorship.
  • As part of a 380-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday, holding anti-junta signs.
  • In Ayadaw Township, a combined rally of students’ union and rural community marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Salingyi Township, local people carried out a Six Twos strike against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of people from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Butalin Township, there was a motorbike protest against the military dictatorship. Reportedly, it was surrounded by PDF members.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a Six Twos march against the military dictatorship on Tuesday morning.
  • In Shwebo Township, a combined force of local PDFs conducted attacks two drone attacks on junta soldiers stationed in Hsin-In village. Reportedly, two junta soldiers died and three others were injured.
  • In Longlone Township in Taninthayi Region, youths conducted a Six Twos movement and protested against the military dictatorship on Tuesday morning.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, young people marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Longlone Township, rural youth conducted a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship, under the theme- ‘Reunion on Six Twos’.
  • In Longlone Township, a powerful rally of basic education students and local residents took to the streets, holding anti-junta banners.
  • In Kyain Seikkyi Township of Karen State, local people from Winyaw Area expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Insein Township of Yangon Region, youth from Insein Democratic Revolution Team – IDRT led a march against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Shwepyitha Township, youth and students conducted a Six Twos strike against the military dictatorship on Tuesday at dawn.
  • On Tuesday morning, there was an anti-junta movement with banners in Yangon.
  • On Tuesday, a combined rally of youth from various townships marched against the military dictatorship in Yangon.
  • At a Six Twos strike, hearing-impaired people from all over the country expressed their opposition to the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In South Okkalapa Township, the Federal Liberation Army (Hlaingthaya Branch) conducted a grenade attack on the junta army (435/436) at 5:36 am Tuesday.
  • In the downtown area of Yangon, junta forces inspected delivery people on bikes on the Six Twos strike day.
  • In Kachin State, youth hung an anti-junta banner at Moenyin bridge on Tuesday at dawn.
  • On Tuesday afternoon, Myanmar people in India carried out a Six Twos movement for rebuilding a democratic union.
  • In Hpakant, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG.
  • Junta forces have been invading the areas of Kanpetlet Township, Saw Township, Longshay and Gyindway, in the border area where Chin State joins Magwe Region. They have also been setting fire to houses. Consequently, local people have had to run away.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Pekone in Shan South, an alliance of local PDFs attacked the junta armed forces stationed on Pagoda Mountain at about 6:00 am on Tuesday. Reportedly, no less than five junta soldiers died.
  • In Phapun District under the control of KNU Regiment (5), the KNLA destroyed a military junta customs office. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died and two others were injured in four battles.
  • In Putao Township in Kachin State, a combined force of KIA and PDF attacked the junta army camp near Insiyan village, starting at 10:00 am on Monday.

The Military Council

  • The junta Labour Department announced on Tuesday that the permits allowing 34 agencies to send workers to Japan had been revoked.
  • On Monday, the second hearing started at the ICJ for the lawsuit against Myanmar by the Gambia for genocide. Reportedly, it was attended by U Ko Ko Hlaing, the junta minister.
  • At the ICJ, U Ko Ko Hlaing stated that there was no reason for the Gambia to prosecute Myanmar for genocide.
  • According to the junta media, the Hsinphyushin vessel from the junta navy left for Visakhapatnam in India to join the Indian Navy’s Multinational Naval Exercise (MILAN 2022).
  • At the Medical Research Department in Dagon Township in Yangon Region, the junta ministry of health organized their 50th Medical Research Conference at 8:30 am Monday. Reportedly, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing delivered an opening speech online.
  • Nationalist monk U Wirathu issued a video sending best wishes to the military junta and wishing them success in the election.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that progress was being made with research into the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 with the use of traditional medicine.

Summary on 22 February

  • As a religious distraction, there was a video in which the nationalist monk U Wirathu sent his best wishes to the junta armed forces for the junta election. It is likely that the military junta and nationalist groups might create conflicts based on religion and race.
  • Six Two Revolution dawn demonstrations were held all over the country. It highlights that the public’s taste for the revolution has not yet cooled down.
  • The military junta started their defence at ICJ. They were proud to be there because it seemed they were being officially recognized by the international community.
