The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Adelaide of Australia, Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Minister of Education and Health-NUG, and Dr. Tun Aung Shwe, the NUG’s Representative to Australia, met with the Myanmar community.

· In the area under the control of the PDF Military Region (1) under the Ministry of Defence-NUG, Magwe Region PDF completed their military refreshers course (1/2023).

· In Pale Township of Sagaing Region, the military junta has been supplying their forces with weapons and rations via air. According to Township People’s Administration, the public are to take caution as there might be heavy fighting, in addition to the junta’s invasion.

· On Wednesday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Township People’s Administration from Magwe Region and Mandalay Region.

· The Acting President stated that the NUG must never forget the role of the public despite their frontline position in the revolution.

Revolution Activities

· In Kawkarait Township of Kayin State, a combined force of Karen National Liberation Army Brigade (6) attacked and took control of the junta’s Yedayauk Camp on the Thai-Myanmar border. The Special Operations Group (SOG), which got involved in the combined force, released a video of the battle.

· On Wednesday, a revolution group conducted an anti-junta movement by playing anti-junta songs via loud speaker somewhere at a market in downtown Yangon.

· In Myingyan of Mandalay Region, the junta’s Township Administrator has been collecting money from the public under the excuse of holding an arts competition.

· In Myingyan Township, the junta army beat all the local people in Magyisu Village including the elderly aged 70. They also set fire to a house.

· In Chindwin River, the junta’s vessels streaming down from Minkin Township have been opening fire along the river banks frequently. Reportedly, over 10,000 people have had to run away.

· In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of local villages led a march at the anti-junta religious ceremony on Thursday.

· On Wednesday evening, Naing Thet Lwin, former Union Minister of Ethnic Affairs in the administration of the civilian government, died of heart disease at Kanthayar Hospital.

· In Pakkoku Township of Magwe Region, the junta army conducted an air raid on Kamma. Afterwards, they continued to station in the town.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· In the area under Karenni Nationalities Defence Force, the women comrades conducted inspection for security.

· In Sunprabun Township of Kachin State, a combined force of Kachin Independence Army and Kakarborazi People’s Force attacked and gained control of a junta army camp on Myitkyina-Putao Road.

· In KyarIn Seikgyi Phayar Thonesu Area in Kayin State, more than 10,000 people have had to run away due to local battles in the third week of September.

· The spokesperson of Karen National Union stated that there was no need to take it seriously to issue a statement with regard to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement which was no longer valid due to the military coup.

· In Phayarthonesu of KyarIn Seikgyi Township in Kayin State, the KNU has been taking on the responsibility of administration and the rule of law as the junta’s administration collapsed.

The Military Council

· In Pathein Township of Ayeyarwady Region, local people have been suffering from sore throat and coughing after consuming the edible oil sold by the military junta for 4,500MMK per viss.

· In Manaung Township of Rakhine State, U Sithu Aung, a phone shop owner in Myothit Ward, was arrested by the junta police. He then was charged under Section 505 (A).

· According to the junta Ministry of Labour Affairs, the Overseas Work Identity Cards, which have been applied for online, are just fake ones.

· According to the junta’s Immigration Department, the international tourists to Myanmar will be checked for health insurance and the amount of dollars they carry on their arrival at the airport.

· Starting from Wednesday, Myanmar National Airlines got started with their flights transporting goods.

Summary on 22 September

· It has been nearly three years since the whole country has been against the military junta. Along with powerful revolution, the military junta has had to let go of the areas under their control. On the other hand, the revolution forces have been able to conduct administration in the junta’s towns.

· In the upcountry region, the military junta has not been able to control the area yet. They still have faced a great loss there. Consequently, they still have been burning villages and killing people.
