Summary on 19 January

  • It has become clearer that the military junta seized power by force to make state property their own. Like the tenure of former military government led by senior general Than Shwe, there have been corruption cases at the grassroots level and the top level doing whatever they want with state-owned property and funds.
  • In Chin State, the junta army was preparing to conduct air strikes as they could not make it on the ground. It would be the same as what they did in Sagaing. However, it would not be that easy due to geographical features. Anyway, everything must be well-prepared without underestimating anything.
  • The military junta used to say that they would respond the same; media by media, air by air and Facebook by Facebook. However, the public do not watch their junta media due to lack of trust. Recently, they have arrested media people with prejudice.
