The Military Council

  • On Wednesday, 30th Aungbalay lottery by the junta was held at Yangon Lottery Branch. As the highest prize, only 5000 lakhs could be given.
  • A delegation led by vice senior general Soe Win, vice-chair of the military council, left for Russia to attend the closing ceremony of the International Army Games-2021.
  • According to the instruction of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, ministries started to grow banana plants.
  • China made an official announcement that according to the invitation, Sun Guoxiang, special envoy of Asian affairs, had gone to Myanmar from 21st to 28th August and met with members of the military council, including Min Aung Hlaing.
  • Although the public holiday was from 1st to 9th September, border trade camps would operate normally for imports and exports. Imports of COVID-19 related-items would be prioritized with the coordination of respective departments and permitted in accordance with SOP.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Ministry of Human Rights-NUG announced that recording, maintaining and transferring information on human rights violations by the junta was a way to participate in the revolution.
  • The NUG announced that those who had difficulties in joining the CDM could contact the Telegram social media group of support team for people’s soldiers and police.
  • The NUG announced that recruitment and promotion by the junta Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation were unofficial.

Revolution Activities

  • On Wednesday, the junta armed forces came to arrest Ko Ko Aung Htet Naing, twin brother of Nyi Nyi Aung Htet Naing who had lost his life due to junta soldiers at Hledan at the beginning of the Spring Revolution. As they did not find him, they arrested his mother as hostage and made a threatening phone call to him to attempt to arrest him.
  • In Myitgyina, a man, resident of Myothitgyi new quarter, was shot dead by junta soldiers in charge of security at Myawaddy Bank on Tuesday morning.
  • On Tuesday night, Mandalay Monks’ Union recited Parittas for the public as usual and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • On Wednesday, a rally led by Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Myingyan Township, Pyusawti members came into the house of U Ko Ni, a pro-NLD man and chair of the Ayeyarwaddy blood donation group, and opened fire at about 10:00 pm Tuesday. According to local residents, one person died and another one was injured.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, young women and female students marched in support of the NUG and for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Wednesday afternoon, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Yebyu Township, young people led a protest against the military watchdog on Wednesday.
  • In the eastern area of Dawei Township, there was a protest against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning.
  • In Tamu, women made an indoors strike against the military watchdog on Wednesday.
  • In a northern village of Latbadaung Taung area, local residents drove away the military watchdog on Tuesday night, banging pots and pans.
  • In Kalay Township, 20 fully-armed soldiers of the military operation headquarters left the army in recent days. Reportedly, the junta army had been looking for them in the southern area of Kalay with the use of a helicopter.
  • On Wednesday, a rally of Kalay people protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Pale Township, there were two battles between the junta armed forces and local PDFs on Monday and Tuesday. Reportedly, 8 junta soldiers died and 4 others were injured. As for the PDF members, two of them were injured.
  • In Dawei, young residents marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • The Organization for Chin Affairs announced that there were up to 108 Chin ethnic people who had been killed by the military junta led by Min Aung Hlaing.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Kyaine Seikgyi Township of Kayin State, there was a fighting on Wednesday morning, between KNLA and the junta armed forces entering Kyait village, a restricted area of the KNU. Reportedly, two junta soldiers were seriously injured.
  • KNU announced that captain Zayar Linn from the junta army Ka-La-Ya (60) had arrested 6 Yayle villagers on Tuesday morning. Five of them were released in the evening and the remaining one was still in captivity.
  • Starting from 10:00 am Wednesday, there was a battle between the junta armed forces and MNDAA near Hluyintan village in Monekoe Township.

Summary on 1st September

  • According to invitation of the military junta, Sun Guoxiang, special envoy of Asian affairs from China, came to Myanmar for 8 days. The military junta had been concealing the news. According to the announcement by the Chinese government, cooperation would be made for democratic transformation and the international community. Supposedly, the military junta had asked for help in international discussions on Myanmar’s affairs, including the case of the UN ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, which would be discussed soon. On the other hand, the NUG said that international diplomatic confrontation might become severe and they had been preparing for it.
  • The Spring Revolution was still in great momentum. In Mandalay and Sagaing, various rallies protested against the military dictatorship. In Sagaing Region, armed revolution became powerful. Consequently, the junta army had a great loss and there were cases in which their soldiers ran away. In Dawei area, there were public protests again after being silent for days.
  • In Shan North, Kayin and Kayar, there were still clashes between EAOs and the junta army. Reportedly, the military junta strengthened their manpower in Kayar and Kayin states. They had been deploying their armed forces and conducting military operations.
