The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Twitter, the Acting President of the NUG wrote that the NUG condemns attacks on Ukraine against the UN Charter and other international laws, and that the NUG is praying for the Ukraine people who are suffering an unjust invasion.
  • The NUG’s Ministry of Human Rights and Ministry of Women, Youth and Children announced that they would try any possible way to to heal the physical and mental sufferings of children, teachers and the public in Chinpone village in Yinmabin Township.
  • On Tuesday, the Karenni State Consultative Council (KSCC) released a special statement on food management including a call for resistance to food insecurity by sharing of food among the public.
  • On Monday, winners of NUG’s Spring Lottery were selected. Reportedly, a special prize worth 100 lakh MMK and 53 prizes worth 15 lakh MMK each were provided.

Revolution Activities

  • In Hmawbi Township of Yangon Region, YUGA under MO 7 (Eagles) conducted a mine attack at the watch camp in Thephyu Former Soldier village at about 8:00 am Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, the Monks’ Union held an anti-junta demonstration calling for more participation by the public in Comprehensive Economic Sanctions against the military junta’s sources of finance as it was an effective method to bring about the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • In Tilin and Saw townships of Magwe Region, the military junta will have to send 5,200 million MMK to branches of the Myanmar Economic Bank by helicopter as they y no longer control land routes in the area, according to military sources.
  • In Yesagyo Township, the junta armed forces set fire to 17 houses on Saturday and Sunday, according to local residents.
  • At 1:30 pm Monday, Aye Mon San, an alleged junta informer, was attacked by unknown gunmen on Thiri Yadana road in Ward (3) of Pakkoku. Reportedly, she died on the spot.
  • In Frankfurt of Germany, there was a protest against the military dictatorship and against the sale of the Telenor Company to the military junta on Monday.
  • In Chinpone village in Yinmabin Township in Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces destroyed 50 motorbikes and 5 cars on Monday morning. According to local residents, the bodies of 7 people, who had been killed by junta soldiers, were found.
  • On the 387th day of protest, people in Kalay marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • On the 356th day of protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • On Monday, junta soldiers were attacked with mines by the Wetlet Township PDF. Reportedly, up to seven junta soldiers died.
  • According to local residents, five junta informers in Chaung-U, Pakkoku, Kantbalu and Myinmu in Sagaing and Magwe were attacked by unknown gunmen and died on the spot. Reportedly, a USDP candidate was shot at in Kawlin Township.
  • At about 4:30 am Monday, Win Kyaing, allegedly a junta informer, was attacked by a group of unknown men at his house in Pazigyi village in Kantbalu Township. Reportedly, he died on the spot.
  • In Satbyagyin village in Myinmu Township, a couple Htay Htay and Ye Min Kaung, who were allegedly junta informers, were shot dead by unknown gunmen at about 4:00 pm on Monday.
  • According to local people and pro-military sources, pro-military monks in Tantsi Township have been leading armed groups under the name of the people’s army by attending military training and carrying weapons.
  • In Kayan Township of Yangon Region, there were mine attacks at Painkan police station and on military trucks. According to a local PDF, 11 members of the junta armed forces died and 12 others, including an officer, were seriously injured.
  • On Monday night, the Kayan PDF announced that over 20 members of the junta armed forces had died in February alone, due to combined operations and guerrilla attacks by the Fire Dragon and the alliance in nearby townships.
  • In Longlone Township in Taninthayi Region, local people carried out a night demonstration against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Pulaw Township, there was fighting between a local PDF and Pyusawti members in Taminmasa village from 7:00 to 8:40 am Tuesday.
  • In Pawa village of Taninthayi Township, there was a fighting between the junta army and a local PDF on Sunday evening. Following the fighting the junta soldiers set fire to houses in the village, according to local residents.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, a rally of 400 people marched against the military dictatorship and the Russian President. They also showed their support for the KIA, PDF and NUG. In addition, they expressed their desire to stand with the Ukrainian people.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Chin State, junta troops leaving Phalan for Hakha broke into houses in Loneyan Ward as they left Phalan and stole property, according to the Chinland Defence Force.
  • In Putao Township in Kachin State, there was a battle between the junta army and a combined force of the KIA and PDF near Sunpiyan village at about 9:00 am Tuesday. According to local sources, the military junta armed forces bombed them using fighter jets.

The Military Council

  • Myat Kyaw, the junta chief minister of Sagaing Region, reported to Min Aung Hlaing that 77 armed groups under the name of people’s army had been established by pro-military people under the order of the junta leader and they had been equipped with 2080 weapons.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the anti-corruption commission set up a team to investigate the report recommending that the Kayah State Chief Minister be charged with corruption.
  • Dr. Myint Naing, the Chief Minister of Sagaing Region, was sentenced to 21 years in prison on seven charges.
  • According to the junta news, there was an event for the appointment of new nurses at the hall of the junta Ministry of Health on Monday.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the 5th meeting of the legal committee for abolishing child labour in Myanmar was held in a hybrid format at 10:00 am Tuesday.

Summary on 2 March

  • In the upcountry areas which the military junta does not control, they have been trying to gain influence through religion. By using extremist monks who insult the religion.
  • In Magwe Region where their control has lessened, the military junta have had to send staff salaries and expenses via air. It is clear that local PDFs have been increasing their influence along the land routes.
  • In Yangon, Mandalay, Taninthayi, Sagaing and Magwe, there were protests and armed revolutions.
