Yangon Region

· On Thursday morning, there was an explosion with a loud noise at the traffic police office under Myenigone overhead bridge in Sanchaung Township. Due to the explosion, a passer-by, a young woman, was injured in her face.

· In Bazuntaung Township, a bomb was said to have been found at Ward (7) administration office on Yegyaw Laitkan street. The junta armed forces blocked off the street and carried out clearing activities.

· At about 10:45 am, more than 40 junta police and soldiers in military and police cars, led by plain clothes people, raided Lynn Marine shop in the compound of Highway Complex Housing in Ward (6) of Kamayut Township. Enquiries are being made for further details.

Mandalay Region

· Among those in detention at Obo prison for joining the anti-junta movements, more than 170 people have been released.

· On Wednesday evening, the junta armed forces made a crackdown on the rally of the Man-based Public Strike in 32 and 83 streets. They also dispersed the Myataung rally on 62 street and arrested a civilian from the rally.

· A rally of Man Aungmye Thazan Schools take to the streets every day without fail and express their objection to the military dictatorship.

· On Thursday morning, the youth in Mandalay protested against the military dictatorship, holding signs - “Rally against fear”.

· Man Aung Pinle rally went around near the junta administration offices at noon and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· A rally of Chanmya Thazi in Unity took to the streets in the afternoon and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· Manlay Pyinyat Monks’ Union peacefully expressed their desire for the release of those in detention as well as for the end of the military dictatorship.

· A rally of Man Variety Forces protested against the military dictatorship, holding signs with words of strong determination. It comprised of Mandala university students, education family and the local people.

· In Mandalay, some night watchmen from East Palace area, who were arrested by the junta armed forces, have been released. Reportedly, they had been beaten during their earlier days in prison and they had been given bad food that made them throw up.

· In Moegoke, an anti-junta activist named U Soe Htay has been issued a warrant. His family members were arrested as hostages. Among them, 4-year-old Ma Su Htet Wine was released on Wednesday. Other family members are still in detention.

· According to Myingyan Public Movement Committee, the junta armed forces raided the houses in Ward (18) and Ward (4) of Myingyan on Wednesday night and arrested at least 10 people.

· At about 5:00 am Thursday, there was an explosion on Pyaungbya bridge in Ward (2) of Myingyan. A passer-by died due to the explosion.

· In Myingyan, some armed people opened fire at the house of Daw Thida Yu Mon, a Pyusawhti member. Some Pyusawhti members on secret patrol in the house made a counter attack. After that, the junta armed forces arrived there and tightened security. In the previous week, a grenade had been thrown into this house.

· The junta armed forces arrested a pork seller named Ko Sein Oo, a resident of Magyibinsu Ward in Myingyan, near Anaimt village on his way back from Talote after selling pork.

· In Taungtha Township, U Lu Maw, a clerk at the administration office, was shot on his way back from a wedding reception in Zibingan village on 29th June. After that, U Maung Sein,

township NLD communication person, was arrested by the junta armed forces at his parents’ house in Ward (6). It is still unclear where he is being detained.

Bago Region

· In Nattalin, Ko Htike or Ko Kyaw Lin Htike was arrested by the junta armed forces on his way back from Pyi after delivering a patient on the night of 29th June. He is a member of Thuka Kari Charity and Township Red-Cross Association. He is being detained at Nattalin police office.

· In Min Hla Township, the military junta dismissed 48 education staff members who have joined the CDM. They also suspended 24 staff members from work.

· Among those in detention at Taungoo prison for joining the anti-junta movements, 51 people (including 13 women) were released on Wednesday.

· In Pyi District, 22 people (including 5 women) have been released from Pyi and Paungti prisons.

· At about 7:00 am Thursday, the junta police and soldiers arrested Dr. Wityi Aung, who had joined the CDM in Pyi, between Pyi and Paukkaung while she was on a motorbike with her sister.

· With the excuse to control COVID-19 infection in Taungoo, the military junta has instructed the markets in town to open for half a day. Among 17 markets, 16 will opened in the morning and Shwe Indai market in the afternoon respectively.

Ayeyarwady Region

· After four explosions in Kyaik Latt on Wednesday, the junta armed forces raided the houses in town at night and arrested more than 20 young residents.

· In Kangyidaunk Township, the junta armed forces broke into the NLD office on Wednesday and made searches for documents in the office.

· 29 people, including 2 journalists, were released from Maubin prison. They had been charged with Section (505-a).

· Among those in detention at Phyapone prison with the charge of Section (505-a), 31 men and 13 women have been released.

· In Gyankhine, two police brothers were unjustly sentenced to a year in prison. Their father was issued a warrant. Reportedly, their mother is faced with the pressure for the repayment of a two-month-salary COVID-19 loan in the NLD government.

Sagaing Region

· Among those in detention at Shwebo prison with the charge of Section (505-a) for joining the anti-junta movements, only 18 people were released on Wednesday.

· Due to the high rate of COVID-19 infection in Kalay, the townspeople did not conduct the public protests with many people. Instead, just a few residents paraded on the streets against the military dictatorship.

· A rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East went around the villages and expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· In Salingyi Township, a rally of Latbadaung Taung General Strike went around the villages and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· Kani PDF announced on Thursday that from 11th April to 20th June, the junta armed forces raided 3 wards in town and 51 villages, took away food and valuable things, and destroyed cars and motorbikes. 4 people lost their lives, no less than 42 people were beaten and 39 are in detention. The local people took up whatever weapons they had to fight against the military junta. There were no less than 30 battles with the junta armed forces. The local PDFs lost 27 courageous members.

· A rally of Monywa General Strike and the public protested against the military dictatorship, scattering pieces of paper with anti-junta words at crowded cross-roads in town.

· Tamu Security Group TSG announced on Thursday evening that they took up arms against the military junta for the security of their town and villages. Now, they have been in collaboration with the PDFs of NUG. Therefore, they have changed their logo.

· Dr. Yaw Han Tun, vice-rector of Haka University with almost no students, was promoted to be the rector of Kalay University.

Magwe Region

· On Wednesday, 26 people (including 3 women) were released from Magwe prison.

· In Myaing Township, local residents of the western zone made a protest at dawn. They went round the township and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.

· Reportedly, the junta armed forces have been re-stationing at Kachaung village in Saw Township.

· While working on farms, the farmers in Natmauk Township protested against the military dictatorship.

Taninthayi Region

· Among those in detention in Dawei prison for joining the anti-junta movements, 22 people have been released.

· At about 8:00 am Thursday, a convoy of military trucks carrying mortars and shells went into Dawei. Taninthayi Region is the base of the Southern People’s Defense Army under the NUG.

· The military junta has been putting pressure on 9 administration staff members in Dawei, who got dismissed for joining the CDM, to repay COVID loans by 7th July. If they fail to do so, legal action will be taken against them.

· Chanting anti-junta slogans, a rally of Dawei Variety Forces expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship on Thursday morning.

· A rally of the local people from Dawei East expressed their desire for the end of the military dictatorship.

· Dawei General Strike, in cooperation with a rally of young students, protested against the military dictatorship on Thursday afternoon.

· In Longlone Township, there were anti-junta rallies in Maungmagan, Nyinmaw, Gadat Nge Seik and Lower Kyauk Wut villages. With the combination of Mainmachaw, Pyinchaung, Natsinshaung and Gyetyetdwin villages, there was a protest against the military dictatorship. In Gauin village, local residents made a guerrilla protest for the downfall of the military dictatorship, holding clothing banners - “The people from the mountains and the mainland are in unity”.

Kachin State

· Among those in detention at Myitgyina prison for joining the anti-junta movements, 95 men and 50 women have been released. Ma Baukja, who had been arrested on the way to Aungmyintha resort on 11th May, was not released on Wednesday. Her father, 66-year old U Zaw Phan, died on arrival back home with chest pain. He had been waiting at the prison, hoping that she would be released.

· As a mark of 5 months after the military coup, a rally of Myitgyina-based Students’ Union marched against the military dictatorship, holding signs - “Not to regret whenever we look back at the history”.

· On Wednesday, a rally of Tamakan Myothit had made a guerrilla protest against the military dictatorship. At that time, the junta armed forces arrived there in ordinary cars and made a crackdown on the protest. 4 male protesters were arrested during the crackdown. They were released on bail at about 7:00 am Thursday.

· The members of KIA regiment (44) arrested 3 junta policemen in plain clothes, together with their weapons, near Kutseinyan village between Pha-Kant Township and Lonekhine village group.

· In Pha-Kant, local residents of Saitaung group made a motorbike protest for the downfall of the military dictatorship. Amidst tight security measures, a rally of Lonekhine group went round the village and expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.

· Bamaw PDF called for the preparation of refuge, medicine and food as well as the establishment of disaster management teams in wards and villages as the military junta may conduct violence in Bamaw.

· Amidst tight security measures by the junta armed forces, Moegaung townspeople made a guerrilla protest to mark 5 months after the military coup and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship.

· At Winemaw BEHS (2), two students from the junta army family tested COVID-19 positive. However, the school is still opening. As those two students and all their family members are COVID-19 positive, their home has been under lockdown measures.

Kayin State

· At about 1:00 am Thursday, there were shootings among Border Guard Force BGF members in charge of security at No. (1) Friendly Bridge in Myawady on the Myanmar-Thai border. Two BGF members died in the incident. Another member was injured and sent to Thingan Nyinaung hospital for medical treatment.

Kayar State

· Among those in detention at Lwaikaw prison for joining the anti-junta movements, 2 women and 9 men have been released.

· In Phasaung, the military junta dismissed 152 education staff members who have joined the CDM.

· According to PKPF, there were 27 battles in Kayar from 20th May to 6th June. They were between the junta armed forces and KNPP, KNLA, KNDF, KPDF, in addition to local PDFs. As for the military junta, they lost more than 200 soldiers. 13 PDF members lost their lives and so did 63 civilians. 132 people were arrested. Due to the battles, more than 50 houses of local residents and 5 churches were damaged. There were around 100,000 IDPs during this period.

Chin State

· On Wednesday night, there was an argument between two policemen at Phalan police station. They attacked each other with a knife and gun. They have been in Phalan township hospital for medical treatment.

· On Thursday morning, the junta armed forces tightened security at the cross-road in front of the high school in Kanpatlat Township and inspected passers-by. In addition, 50 junta soldiers headed towards the 6 miles marker. So, Kanpatlat administration team urged the public to check safety first before going out.

· At about 1:00 pm Thursday, U Kyun Lyan Htan, former Kalay Township administrator who had been transferred to be Titain Township administrator, died of COVID-19 infection.

Mon State

· The public from Mawlamyein made an indoors strike against the military dictatorship, holding signs in honour of the staff members who have joined the CDM.

· While working on farms, the farmers in Paung Township expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship with anti-junta slogans. 

Shan State

· At about 6:30 pm Wednesday, there was an explosion at a casino in Kaungmutone Ward of Muse on Myanmar-China border.

· Among those in detention at Muse prison for joining the anti-junta movements, 4 women and 16 men have been released. However, a resident of Muse named Mai Lon Thein Oo was not released. In addition to Section (505-a), he was charged under the law of import/export and with Section (17/1) for contacting a blacklisted organization.

· After the military coup, there have been frequent robberies in Lashio. On Wednesday evening, about 10 young men in masks threatened 3 women with knives near Yegantaung and robbed them of their money.

· At the junta Myanmar Economic Bank in Lashio, 4 staff members tested COVID-19 positive. However, the bank continues to stay open after being disinfected.

· Among those in detention in Shan State for joining the anti-junta movements, 15 men, 4 women and a young man of 15 were released in Muse. In Lashio, 4 women and 5 men were released. 4 men were released in Moemait, 6 men and a woman in Thipaw, and 2 men in Kyaukme respectively.

· After instructing the KIA to leave Mantpan people’s army camp in Maiyaw area of Lashio Township, the junta army (99) with more than 100 soldiers have been stationing at the former police station at the entrance to Maiyaw.

Rakhine State

· In Taunggoke, 3 men were released. They had been charged with Section (505-a) for protesting against the military coup.

Nay Pyi Taw

· 26 people from Nay Pyi Taw detention center were released. They had been arrested for their objection to the military dictatorship.

· According to AAPP, there were up to 884 people who lost their lives after the military coup due to ruthless crackdowns on the protests and brutal treatment when under arrest.

· According to a social media post by Dr. Sasa, Minister of International Cooperation NUG, more than 150 MPs of French Upper Parliament signed on Thursday to officially recognize the NUG.

· The Ministry of Education NUG will conduct short courses on human rights, concepts of official government and international laws for the students from the higher education sector in July.

· On Thursday, there was a meeting of PPST comprising 10 ethnic armed organizations which have signed the NCA. The acting-chair of the team and leader of RCSS/SSA said that the country lacked peace and security within 5 months after the military coup.

Summary on 1st July

· In Yangon, the public protests were silent. However, there were explosions at buildings of the junta organizations. Some people were injured in those explosions. The junta armed forces continued to carry out mobile patrols in the city. With the help of informers, they also made some raids.

· In Mandalay, there were still public protests on the streets. The military junta kept normal security measures and conducted mobile patrols. They have been preparing with plain clothes people and ordinary cars for the crackdowns on the protests. In Myingyan Township, the junta armed forces raided the villages and made arrests.

· In Chin State with many COVID-19 transmitted cases, there were no protests on the streets. However, the junta armed forces continued to make their way towards local PDFs.

· In other states and regions, there were still public protests, especially in Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region. In Shan State, there were almost no protests due to COVID-19 infection all across the state. The number of robberies is on the rise in big towns of the state.

· To gain international recognition and relieve some pressure, the military junta has been releasing prisoners. On the other hand, they continue to use violence in the crackdowns on public protests. In 5 months of military rule, the economy has been falling. Some factories and businesses have closed down. The military junta has been confronted with the pressure from the high infection rate of COVID-19 third wave. As they cannot take containment measures, there are more and more COVID-19 transmitted cases.
