The Military Council

  • At a meeting with oil palm business owners in Taninthayi Region on Monday, U Tin Oo, the junta minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, said that they would aim for full productivity of over 400,000 acres of oil palm plantations in the region.
  • The junta media falsely claimed that CRPH, NUG and PDF assassinated not only people but also monks and that a total of 12 monks passed away from 3rd May to 11th November 2021.
  • According to the junta media, the military junta have been making arrangements for the successful implementation of the Taungthaman Thitsa rural resort project around Taungthaman lake in Amarapura Township of Mandalay Region.
  • The military junta announced that cooking oil had been imported with 12 million USD under direct sale with a referenced exchange rate by Central Bank. With 4240 MMK per viss for daily wholesale, 6767.69 tons of cooking oil (4,141,830 visses) had been sold.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The sale of special bonds of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar by the NUG would begin on the 22nd November 2021.
  • Ministry of Defence-NUG announced that 4 soldiers and 8 police members made contact on Wednesday to join the public as they could no longer accept the military dictatorship.
  • The NUG announced that with support of individuals and organizations, the military junta had been making up stories to defame the NUG. Some in the international community are still mistakenly working with the junta to resolve Myanmar’s issues.
  • Union Prime Minister of the NUG said that it was necessary to block the financial sources of the military junta that had been killing the public. The cooperation of the people was equally as important as international sanctions against the 3 main sectors; oil and gas, mining and banking.
  • Dr. Tayza San, leader of Mandalay General Strike and member of NUCC, said that establishment of the National Unity Consultative Council (NUCC), comprising diverse revolutionary forces, was the guarantee to victory of Myanmar’s Spring Revolution.

Revolution Activities

  • In lower rural community of Yebyu Township in Taninthayi Region, there was an indoors strike against the military dictatorship on Wednesday afternoon.
  • On Tuesday night, the junta army tried to arrest a young man named Ko Thiha Htwe in Dawei. As they did not find him at home, they threatened his parents by force which led to him being caught.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East protested against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • Starting from 8:00 am Wednesday, there was a fighting between the junta armed forces and a combined force of PDFs near Kalay.
  • Despite a heavy battle between the junta army and local PDFs in the neighborhood, Kalay people conducted their 283-day protest against the military dictatorship on Wednesday morning.
  • According to local sources, there was a grenade attack at Kalay airport at about 11:10 am Wednesday. Reportedly, there were no casualties.
  • In a village of Shwebo Township, there was a march for the NUG and against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • According to a communications person of Baitthanoe PDF, up to 30 CDM soldiers joined them.
  • In Hlaingthaya Township of Yangon Region, Kyaw Min Oo, member of the junta administration in Ward (10), was killed.
  • In Tightgyi Township, Aung Kyaw Soe, chair of a nationalist organization named YMBA, was shot on Tuesday morning. Reportedly, he died at Mingaladone military hospital.
  • At about 9:00 pm Tuesday, the junta armed forces raided an apartment on 5th floor In Gyibwaye Ward of Thingangyun Township. According to local residents, they also shot dead a young man and arrested 3 others by force.
  • In Thaketa Township, youth led a movement on Tuesday night, hanging a banner against the slavery education of the military junta in front of No. (1) Basic Education High School.
  • In North Dagon Township, there was an explosion in Daweichaung police station at about 6:20 pm Tuesday. Reportedly, a military convoy coming out of the station was attacked with an explosive device 10 minutes later.
  • In Hleku Township, the education officer sued U Kyaw Soe, a non-CDM clerk, with charges which might send him to prison for 10 years or life. According to local residents, his house was sealed off as well.
  • At about 2:30 am Wednesday, a large number of the junta armed forces entered Mobye on the Shan-Kayah border and fired ammunition. According to MBPDF, 3 PDF members on patrol in the fire department were injured and one of them was in a critical condition.
  • In Mandalay, Aungmye Thazan Township Students’ Union hung a poster against slavery education of the military junta on Wednesday morning and chanted anti-junta slogans.
  • In some villages of Mandalay District, the junta organizations placed sheets of paper threatening the public not to have relations with PDFs.
  • According to a local resident of Mandalay, the junta armed forces prohibited the sale of books by viss at the Book Lovers’ book-shop.
  • On Wednesday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • In Kanpetlet of Chin State, 3 young people were arrested by the junta armed forces. Reportedly, they managed to grab 2 guns of the junta soldiers and escaped at about 4:00 am Wednesday.
  • According to a focal person of the CNDF, there was a clash between the junta armed forces and a combined force of CDFs in the upper part of Zichaung dam in Phalan Township on Tuesday morning.
  • In Pathein of Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was gunfire in front of marine police force at about 7:45 pm Tuesday. According to local residents, 4 police members were injured. After that, the junta police force opened fire and arrested people.
  • In Ponnagyun of Rakhine State, there was an exchange of fire among junta soldiers in Regiment (550) at 9:45 pm Monday. According to family members, a sergeant died in the incident.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Thatone District under KNU Regiment (1), a combined force of the junta army and BGF destroyed the hospital in Phalantaung village of Pha-Ang Township at about 2:00 pm Tuesday. Moreover, they shot at 2 female students on their way back from school.

Summary on 17th November

  • In Sagaing, Chin and Kayah, there were heavy battles between the junta armed forces and local people defence forces. As the military junta had a great loss there, they conducted attacks targeting civilians on a daily basis. In Chin State, junta soldiers committed rape against women many times. Consequently, responsible personnel of the junta must be held accountable.
  • As for the NUG, they are getting recognized by international community to some extent. They have been making an effort to block financial sources of the junta army. They also announced that they would not have any dialogue with the military dictators who seized power by force and ill-treated the public.
  • In Yangon, guerrilla revolution was still in great momentum. As for Sagaing, they had protests every day without fail amidst battles. In Dawei, Magwe, Mandalay and Ayeyarwaddy, there were public protests and activities of the guerrilla revolution. Despite tight security measures, there might be such ongoing activities.
