The National Unity Government (NUG)

· In Mon State, it was found out that 100 junta soldiers had been added at the junta army headquarters (19) based in Yay Township. So, an alliance of Dawna Column conducted an attack via mortars.

· In the south of Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces have been invading the area and burning people’s houses. Consequently, local people have had to run away and they have been badly in need of assistance.

· The Acting President of the NUG stated that revolution forces were to raise the momentum of the revolution by reflecting and taking advantage of the weakness of the enemy who had been fighting without faith.

· According to the End of Dictatorship, they were able to sell the land of Federal Stream Housing near Defence Service Technological Academy in Pyin Oo Lwin Township of Mandalay Region for over 2.7 million USD within a week.

Revolution Activities

· In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, the revolution force tried to arrest two junta policemen from Pakhangyi Police Station and they had to shoot at them as the junta members attempted to run away. Reportedly, one of them died and the other one escaped with injuries.

· In Tanintharyi Township of Tanintharyi Region, local PDF warned the public not to travel at night.

· In Moemauk Township of Kachin State, a junta commander died in a local battle near Aunggya Village.

· In Taungtha of Mandalay Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta General Administration Department. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died.

· A focal person of Mya Nandar Military Operation called on the public to contribute to their campaign - ‘Urban Eagles’ to raise their revolution activities in and out of Mandalay.

· In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of local villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched against the military dictatorship on Sunday.

· In Salingyi Township, a rally of Chindwin River Banks conducted an art fair to raise funds for the fire victims of Nyaungbingyi.

· In Khin-U Township, the junta army arrested over 30 people in their raid into local villages. Subsequently, over 6,000 people had to run away.

· In Salingyi Township, a combined rally of Latbadaung General Strike and local people carried out a night strike against the military dictatorship on Saturday, holding signs - ‘We stand with the people from Mung Lai Hkyet’.

Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs)

· In the neighborhood of Laiza, the headquarters of Kachin Independence Army, there have been heavy battles. Reportedly, the military junta dropped rations to their forces via parachutes.

· Karen National Union (KNU) officially announced that they had no agreement aligned with the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) and they would lead the fight until the victory of the revolution.

· In Moegok Township of Mandalay Region, There were battles between the junta army and Ta’ang National Liberation Army for three consecutive days.

· On Sunday, Karenni National Progressive Party stated that they no longer trusted the NCA which had been destroyed by the junta army, the talks based on the 2008 Constitution, the procedures to amend the Constitution and superficial activities for the election.

· Wa Army announced that the local authorities in Wa Area of Shan State had handed over 2350 Chinese online swindlers to China.

· The KNU declared that the military junta had been a barrier for the establishment of federal democracy in Myanmar and that they would lead the revolution till the downfall of the military dictatorship.

· The ceasefire forces stated that the international community including witnesses of the NCA should negotiate to help resolve Myanmar’s political crisis.

The Military Council

· In Kachin State, a junta troop contingent was attacked on Myitgyina-Hpakant Road. Afterwards, they burnt Maubin Village. Reportedly, a local man lost his life due to the mortars shot by the junta soldiers.

· In Moemauk Township of Kachin State, the junta army set fire to Daigar Village near Dawphoneyan on Sunday morning.

· The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that the EAOs had been in existence due to the division of Communist Party of Burma and there had been no EAOs which had come into existence due to the hatred for the Military.

· The junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs objected to the proposal of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to transfer the case of Myanmar to the International Criminal Court.

· In Moscow, the junta Minister of Energy and Electricity invited Russian companies to invest in Myanmar.

· At 9:00 am Sunday, the 8th anniversary of the NCA was celebrated at Myanmar International Convention Center (2) in Naypyidaw.

Summary on 16 October

· The junta army has been doing violence throughout the country on a daily basis. They have been disgusted by the whole public including ethnic people. Turning a blind eye to it, Min Aung Hlaing shamelessly blamed the Communist Party of Burma, which is no longer in existence, and he claimed that the EAOs did not hate the Military.

· In Kachin State, there have been frequent battles due to the junta’s invasion. Reportedly, the military junta has had a great loss there.
