The National Unity Government (NUG)

· NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La stated that it was predictable the military junta could conduct attacks targeting civilians like Pazigyi, A Nang Pa and Mone Laing Khet as they were in terrible conditions in the revolution.

· Union Prime Minister Man Win Khine Than stated that the NUG had already supported over 200 lakh MMK to displaced people in Northern Shan State as emergency humanitarian assistance.

· In Myaung Township of Sagaing Region, 6 PDF members lost their lives and 12 civilians were injured in fighting. According to the Local People’s Administration, they supported the victims with funds raised from local taxes.

Revolutionary Activities

· In Chaung-U of Sagaing Region, PDFs arrested a junta woman police sergeant in town.

· In Sagaing Township, local PDFs called on the people living near Minkun Police Station to move away.

· In Myeik Township of Tanintharyi Region, a combined force of PDFs attacked a troop of about 100 junta soldiers near Ngwe Shaung Village. Reportedly, 5 junta soldiers died and 7 others were injured.

· In Mayangone Township of Yangon Region, there were bomb explosions at 9 Mile and Thamai Junction on Tuesday night.

Ethnic Armed Organisations (EAOs)

· In Paletwa District of Chin State, local CDFs called on the junta soldiers, police and staff to defect to them and join the CDM.

· In Namkham Township of Northern Shan State, the PSLF/TNLA issued security guidelines for the public to followduring Operation 1027 by the Three Brotherhood Northern Alliance.

· On the third and fourth day of the 1111 Operation, members of the junta armed forces defected to the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force.

· According to the Interim Karenni Council, the revolutionary forces had to rescue 134 non-CDM staff from Loikaw University and 64 family members, who had been ignored by the military junta at the start of the 1111 Operation.

· The chair of the KNDF stated that the junta’s administration in Loikaw must be demolished to uproot the military dictatorship and establish self-determination in Karenni State.

· In Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State, the Arakan Army (AA) attacked junta members, who refused to give up their arms, near Kanpyin Thazi Village. Reportedly, 5 junta personnel died and some others were injured.

The Military Council

· After revolutionary forces attacked two junta camps in Chin State, 43 junta soldiers ran to Mizoram, India. According to a source in India, 40 of them were transferred back to Myanmar’s military junta.

· After junta camps were seized in Rakhine State, the military junta, which blockaded the ways in and out of Rakhine State, threatened local people and travelers that they would close the routes as long as the AA fails to negotiate with them.

· The junta Deputy Minister of Planning and Finance stated that over 477 billion MMK had been loaned to SME businesses until the end of October.

· For the stability on the Myanmar-China border, there was a meeting between the junta Minister of Home Affairs and China’s Ambassador to Myanmar in Naypyi Taw.

· According to the junta Ministry of Economics and Commerce, the foreign trade volume of Myanmar decreased up to over 2 billion MMK compared to that of the same period last year.

Summary on 16 November

· When the junta soldiers face the EAOs, they defect to them or they die. Due to a large number of fatalities among junta soldiers, revolutionary forces called on the junta armed forces to give up arms prior to the fighting.

· After the towns and junta camps were seized along the border with China, China’s Ambassador to Myanmar was summoned to Naypyi Taw for discussions themed on ‘the stability of the border area’.
