The Military Council

  • In the case of robbery to Ayeyarwaddy Bank armoured car in Indagaw; the junta army area in Bago Region, the military council accused PDF members of committing the crime.
  • According to the junta media, U Aung Naing Oo, the junta minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, joined 20th ASEAN-China economic ministerial meeting, 18th ASEAN-Korea economic ministerial meeting, 13th Mekong-Japan economic ministerial meeting, ASEAN-Switzerland Troika economic ministerial meeting and 24th ASEAN+3 economic ministerial meeting respectively, from the ministry office in Nay Pyi Taw.
  • According to the junta media, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing took part in the selection of military right-hand men from 64 batch of the junta Defence Service Academy.
  • The 7th ASEAN-China ministerial meeting on cooperation for being pest-free was held on Tuesday morning via video conferencing. According to the junta media, Dr. Aung Gyi, the junta deputy minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, attended it.
  • On Monday, the junta Central Bank sold 15 million US$ with an average rate of 1750 Kyats per dollar.

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that there were a total of 1171 cases of battles and conflicts in Myanmar from 1st June to 31st August 2021. They included 180 battles, 157 people’s defence activities, 227 cases of assassination, 280 cases of explosions, 309 cases of violence conducted by the military junta on civilians and 18 cases in which members of the junta armed forces shot at each other.
  • Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun called for carrying on with the activities for the downfall of the military dictatorship with the power of the public.
  • Over the three months from June to August, at least over 200 people died in townships of Sagaing Region due to the ruthless killing of the junta armed forces. U Aung Myo Min, Minister of Human Rights- NUG, said that those cases would come out as valid evidence at the meeting of the Human Rights Council held in September.
  • Ministry of Human Rights had been reporting on time on international crimes committed by the junta armed forces in Sagaing and Magwe regions day after day. Reportedly, a specific report would be submitted soon.
  • According to the online page of US-based Foreign Policy magazine, there was an agreement between the U.S and China to keep U Kyaw Moe Tun as Myanmar’s permanent representative to the UN until November.

Revolution Activities

  • In North Dagon Township of Yangon Region, U Naing Lin, 100-household leader in Ward (49), was shot dead by two unknown gunmen at the corner of Bohmu Aye Cho street and Laguneain street at about 2:00 pm Monday.
  • On Tuesday, Yangon youth led a march calling for revolution against the military dictatorship in various ways.
  • At about 12:00 pm Tuesday, there was an explosion at the DMA office near Dawbone shipyard bus stop in Yangon.
  • Starting from Tuesday afternoon, the military junta conducted an internet blackout in many townships, including 6 townships in Sagaing Region and Myingyan Township in Mandalay Region.
  • On Tuesday, Mandalay Monks’ Union marched against the military watchdog.
  • On Tuesday, Mandalay Monks’ Union led an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • On Tuesday, Ba-Ka-Tha Central distributed public-campaign brochures at crowded markets and on main roads of Mandalay, “Respond war with war. There must be a war for peace. There has never been any saviour”.
  • On Tuesday, Phayagyi rally, Mandalay-based people rally and multi-religions rally marched against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • On Tuesday, youth conducted a protest against the military dictatorship at News Ocean shopping centre near Chinese consulate in Mandalay.
  • As usual, a rally of Mandalay-based University Students’ Union expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, a rally of Mandalay youth marched against the junta army.
  • In Longlone Township, students and youth led a march against the military watchdog.
  • In Longlone Township, a rally of women conducted Rosy movement on Tuesday and expressed their desire for supporting the NUG and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Kanbauk area of Dawei District, women carried out Rosy movement on Tuesday morning and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Myaing Township, Basic Education General Strike Committee, in cooperation with the public from the western zone, marched against the military watchdog on Tuesday.
  • On Tuesday, local residents of Monywa-Amyint road-side community went around the villages and showed their support for U Kyaw Moe Tun to be Myanmar’s permanent representative to the UN. They also expressed their disapproval of the military dictatorship.
  • A rally of Monywa-Amyint General Strike marched on Tuesday and expressed their desire against the military watchdog.
  • A letter came out saying that arrangements were being made to relocate some villages in Ayadaw Township by force.
  • In Latbadaung Taung area, the students and the public from Tawgyaung village marched on Tuesday morning and expressed their desire for the UN’s recognition to the NUG and ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun. They also protested against the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • According to Yaw PDF, they attacked a police station in Min village on Saturday. On their way back, they confiscated explosives and bullets worth 7 million Kyats, stored by Pyusawti near Kautku village.
  • On Tuesday morning, a rally comprising various villages from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched in support of the NUG. They also expressed their disapproval to the military dictatorship.
  • On Tuesday morning, Kalay people made a protest against the military dictatorship, “The public is parents. Come and join us”.
  • In Phaya Thonesu of Kayin State, the students and the public marched on Tuesday morning for recognition to the NUG and ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun. They also expressed their desire for the downfall of the military dictatorship.
  • According to local residents, a bomb exploded in front of the USDP office in Magwe. In the incident, a child died and another one was injured.
  • On Tuesday morning, anti-junta people in Yesagyo Township expressed their support for the NUG and ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun.
  • In Taungdwingyi Township of Magwe Region, two brothers were shot dead by the junta armed forces in Taunglyaung (Ywama) village on Sunday. According to local residents, another 4 people were arrested.
  • In Kayar (Karenni) State, there were fire ammunitions near Loikaw junta army (54), starting from 7:30 pm Monday. More armoured vehicles and military trucks arrived there. Due to their wild shootings, at least 3 people were injured and some houses were damaged.
  • In Myitgyina of Kachin State, young people expressed their desire against the military dictatorship on Tuesday.
  • In Shweku Township, U Nyunt Aung, junta-appointed administrator of Sithaung village, was shot dead at about 1:00 pm Tuesday.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • On Tuesday morning, there was fighting between a combined force of KA+KNDF and the junta army near Dala village in Fruso Township. KNDF-BO1 Dee Maw Soe Zone announced that two members of KNDF lost their lives.
  • According to the KNU Thule newsletter, the junta BGF army in Laykay village of Beelin Township made the villagers cut down trees and bamboo by force for the renovation of their camp.
  • In Maishu Township of Shan South, an EAO made recruitment even in town in recent days.
  • In Maikai Township of Shan South, there was heavy fighting between two Shan EAOs near Namtohm village, starting from 8:00 am Tuesday.

Summary on 15th September

  • The military junta joined every meeting of the ASEAN. They also accused PDF of conducting a robbery in the army area. Whoever did whatever, they just announced all the time that PDFs were doing those activities. It was like the accusation to KNU for whatever happened in the mainland.
  • There was an internet blackout in the areas with heavy fighting. The military junta tend to use it when they conduct significant human-rights violations.
  • In Mandalay and Sagaing, public protests still had great momentum. In Sagaing, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Kachin, there were ongoing battles and they might become more severe. As for Yangon, Mandalay, Magwe and Dawei, they had a guerrilla revolution and clearance activities of junta-pillars. As the battles get heavier in upper areas, there might be more guerrilla attacks in urban areas.
